I'm 48 and I'm pretty happy with life. Is that close enough?

If I happen to find a lady and we wind up marrying, great! In the meantime I'm not spending too much energy looking for her. There's a lot of other stuff to do in life.

There is one elderly black lady who used to sit with Grandma while I went to w*rk. She is a widow. When I asked her if she wanted to get married again, she said, "I already took care of one man. That's enough!"

Haha that's funny. I guess she is content 😌
I have been seeing the searching process as a fun journey, following the love story God is writing with me. Wherever God leads, I follow.
The result is not important. The journey is fun.

What do you feel been single in 50+?
Freedom? Confidence? Know what you want? Enjoy life?

Blessings.
I am 55 and I'm not used to being single because my husband only passed away two and a half months ago.

My daughter says I seem Freer but I think that's because I'm not sweating the small stuff as much anymore because I appreciate everyone because I lost someone.

I like being over 50 because also I noticed I don't care about a lot of things anymore LOL and I'm never embarrassed in public.

God bless in Jesus name

I’m turning 49 this year, so the big 50 is getting quite close already.

I actually feel more free these days. My kids are mostly grown up now, so I have more space and time for myself again. I’ve started making a few plans and small dreams for next year and I’d love to do something a bit adventurous before reaching that “magical” 50 milestone.

I even bought hiking boots last autumn, even though I’ve never been hiking or pitched a tent before 😄 so that’s going to be a new experience for sure....

Life has been quite full and changeable over the years, and I’ve made mistakes I will probably always carry with me in some way. But despite everything, I feel peaceful and content in this season of life.

Being on my own also has its advantages. It feels calm and uncomplicated. And to be honest, I talk quite a lot, so I’m not entirely sure a man would see that as a bonus anyway.

Blessings to you too.

hey,im 67 single homebody girl lovin life, would like a christian partner but ok single

This is the place for you. Lots of friends at all levels of scripture knowledge and observance. The key is to follow Jesus Christ, which I know you do since you are here.

I like the more technical stuff and go to those threads. And some here are very well-versed in scripture. Much more than I. But I try to learn more. And I do get into some debates that I am not too proud of.

Nevertheless, when you need a friend, there are many here who love you. So be joyful that you are at a good place for loving friendship with your brothers and sisters who love and follow Jesus Christ.

We would have been in the same HS graduating class.

I went to HS in Iola, KS. but now live in Idaho.

I went back there in 2009 and was surprised at how small the town was. But it was a good place to grow up. I also passed through there in 2015 and another time. Those two occasions were trips to Detroit and back to Idaho.

My mom died in Jan. 2010, so I got to see her the summer before her passing. And my dad died in 2015. One went to heaven and the other to hell. That is, one accepted the Savior's payment for her sins, and the other rejected the Savior.

In some cases, it is easy to see who has salvation and who does not. Anyone who accepts the Savior has salvation. Thus, anyone accepting the Savior is accepted by him. And that is salvation. My neighbor Mike died a few years ago, and he also rejected the Savior's payment for sins. So they go away from the Savior to await the resurrection. And being away from the Savior is hell.

I find it amazing that such good people would rather suffer in their own sins, when Jesus is so willing to restore them to God. It is not as though they are required to preach on the street corner. No, all the Savior asks is that they repent and follow him. How much easier can it be?

It is simply a matter of saying that they are a follower of Jesus Christ, and they have salvation. And yet, they would rather be followers of themselves. So we get to pick who our gods are. And many choose themselves.

I am content in being single. I was married for 23 years and after infidelity on my ex-husbands end, the marriage ended. I have completely forgiven him and only just now have been open to the idea of having the thought of a possible friendship that could lead to companionship and then possibly a relationship. I want whatever God want for me, and if that is to be single the rest of my life, so be it.

Howdy and welcome to the forum.

Being single sure is peaceful! :-D

Wonder how many of you, including guys 👦 girls, willing to start single friendship first in the beginning.

Then if it develops into romantic dating, great. If not, any one can back out of this friendship.
And how exactly do you do that? Because there's a guy at church that I'm acquainted with and would like the opportunity to get to know, but we're both very introverted so 2 min conversations after church are awkward as anything and he looks so very uncomfortable. And as I'm thinking about the guy friends I've made in the past, I've realized there was some sort of social framework around that gave us the opportunity to get to know each other in group activities or the daily rhythms of life and now I don't really have that and don't see anything along those lines really developing. So I really wonder how such a friendship could ever get the chance to develop.

And then I wonder what that friendship would look like, because honestly most of the friend activities I can think of are things that look a lot like potential date activities. And how confusing is it when the things you do together look like dating but you keep telling the other person that you're not dating them. I mean I can pick @seoulsearch up and bring her over to my house for a day and we can watch TV and talk and eat food and no one will think I'm dating her. But if I offer the exact same day and activities to a guy, that sure sounds like a date, especially if I'm even cooking for him.

And I also understand that this friends to romance idea is an almost entirely female idea. It rarely happens (despite how many movies portray it ) in real life. I'm not a guy but I understand that guys usually know pretty quickly whether they have or will ever have any romantic interest in a woman and if they're going to have that interest don't want to get friendzoned by starting out as friends. Real life men can correct me if I'm getting that wrong, but what I've seen indicates the sexes are pretty different in this regard.

Thank you for sharing.

with some social environment opportunities, that's the key 🔑. If you 2 already working together, have some conversation everyday. If in the same church, talk at least once a week.
If both single, do some activities together such as hiking, beach, outdoor events....you can call it casual dating, to see if you into each other.

The thing is as a woman, I would like to be as pure friends for at least 3 month or more. It takes time to fall romantically into someone. If I really enjoy having friendship, but have not romantic feelings in the beginning, should we quit as being friends?

do people fall in romantically fast these days? Then break up and heart break?

Why not just stay in friend zone until you really decide to go romantic and towards marriage?
If no intention of marriage, why bother develop romantic feelings?
