I'm a young adult male (age 24), and really wish my like was different.

Growing up, things were just plain. I didn't live in poverty, so I guess there's some gladness, but I didn't live wealthy either. Had a pretty good family (except my dad), very good Christian mom, and lots of brothers. But I was the youngest in the family, so as a consequence of everyone being older, I was kinda "left behind" (not literally).

As I get into the teenage years in the mid to late 2010s, I'd say that I became more unhappy. Things just weren't really what I wanted. Life just felt "stale" I guess (can't explain it), and this was around the time I ran away from home (didn't work)

Around 2020 is when the world collapsed. I was about to turn 18 and become a legal adult. I was looking forward to finally improving my life maybe meeting my new friend I met on social media (same age as me), and perhaps going out on dates with cute girls (never happened)... But instead I got COVID lockdowns, an out of control police force and riots/protests... Rising crime, rising prices and inflation, etc.

It seemed like everything normal about life was changed right when I wanted to finally enjoy my life. It seems like at the moment I was ready for something new, ready to try things, and see the world like any teenager would want to, God (don't know who else to blame) decided to begin what I believe are the "final times" or the last days that's spoken of in the Bible. But of course I could be wrong.

A few years pass, and I make a few more friends on social media. I make a few mistakes and lose 3 friends, but at least I still have others.

Now in 2026, I still don't feel happy. My life hasn't really improved. I'm still single and a virgin, I'm still living in my mom's house, I have no car, little money, and can't get much more.

Growing up we had a few dogs, but they all died. My dad also died around 2022, and the world around seems to be getting worse every year. I constantly look online to see what's going on, and I see that I'm priced out of the housing market, priced out of the car market (which is my favorite, because I'm a car enthusiast)...I don't know where all the good women are at (I'm not really ready for a relationship though), and overall I just don't know what to do.

I don't know why, but I feel like God is partially responsible for the way my life is. He knows everything, he created everything, so he should understand how I feel. Maybe it's just me, maybe I'm being selfish, idk .. But I feel like no one cares about what I think. My life doesn't feel important, and when I watch people happy and enjoying themselves, I feel a bit of agitation.

The world moves on, and I'm standing still.

It is what it is I guess
I can in some way empathise with your current malaise, because in my mid-20s, I became disillusioned with my repeated failure to achieve what I imagined my life should be. I didn't so much as hate my own life, as I inadvertently resented the ideals which other people were attempting to foist on me and expected me to live by.

Like you, I had no girl, the one I thought I had was unfaithful. I wasn't the proud owner of my own place or vehicle, and had lost my job after a heated dispute about my employer defrauding unsuspecting customers.

I could've gone to live with my mum, but I chose the tent life instead. In the winter, I slept in the central island of roundabouts and rooftops, if I could scale the brickwork. I did this to avoid detection when there was no green vegetation for cover. I did have access to washing facilities which helped me to conceal my unsheltered and nomadic situation.

To some, that might be a shameful existence, worthy of contemptuous disregard, but out in the cold and solitude, I learnt how a change of perspective can be just as beneficial as an improvement in circumstances.

There's nothing wrong with wanting greater prosperity, and a higher quality of life through initiative and hard work. But don't forget to practice gratitude for God's saving grace, because regardless of what temporary possessions we own or lack down here on the ground floor. There are mansions upstairs for storing everlasting treasure. Nobody is standing still when they're busy accruing an eternal inheritance.

And look on the bright side. If you'd gone on those dates with some cute girls, your virginity may been squandered in a fleeting moment. Whether his own decision or by God's constraint, no man is going to regret remaining a virgin when his wedding night comes.

Also give your mother a hug. I love my own, dearly, but no persuasive words or demonstration of God's grace has lifted the blindness which prevents her from recognising peoples need for salvation.

God's blessings and a hug from me Zoomer. You're still very young and i think you're doing alright for sure, you exhibit strong analytical skills already instead of just reacting to what are very difficult times for the vast majority of people.

Also think it's great you're reaching out to CChat for ideas/advice etc but i think events initiated by the fallen angels are behind the start of the end times. Satan is the ruler of this world and think it's likely to be hell on earth in the very near future, these are wicked times hard to deal with, purposely so. Here's a link to a web page with five scriptures which show he's the ruler of this age, scroll down to the bottom of the page for related topics you might be interested in:

Personally think these are the end times too, i'm a young Christian but an old dear in years. So hope your spiritual interest will continue and you realise the LORD is in control and will step in at the perfect time to sort it all out. God's blessings again and hang in there, think you're on the right path.

God is never responsible on how someone lives. he gives us life, we live it. are you a born again Christian? if not, that's where to start for sure. are you the quiet lazy type without ambition? if so, only you & you best at that, can get life in order. you have talents, put them to use. many millions of people from the beginning to now, lived fractional hurt lives either dealing with being beaten, neglected, abandoned, rejected, unwanted, lonliess, & it goes on, have "woken" up to life, got themselves motivated with ambition & pressed on to success living a happy life. growing up, i dealt with a massive amount of hurt in many ways. i woke up to life & it's responsibilities at about age 20. since 20, i have lived an extraordinary life with lot's of blessing from Jesus. go to your favorite quiet place & spend hours searching your mind, soul, conscious & spirit & see what you are lacking. then, put your life in high gear & accomplish your goals. blessings to you.

UPDATE....i will need some prayer...recently things have gotten worse in my life. i won't talk much about it here, but to give an example, I've gotten into 2 mini fights (or rather arguments) with my mom, and i find myself feeling angrier at my life and the world.

I just don't understand what's wrong. i don't know if God even cares, because i also have watched X rated content throughout my life (i would say since i was around 17 years old, so i was not exposed to it at a young age) and have "argued" with my own mother...

I don't know what to say or do anymore...I can only hope God hasn't left me, but i wouldn't be surprised if he did, do to how bad my life has gone recently.

I don't know if its sin, but i just have lost the desire, or care anymore. what do i have? God obviously won't give me the life i wanted, so why would i care about anything?

i Just wanna quit at this point.

I suspect the same dynamics in Posh Beckham and her son, Brooklyn, common in mother-son enmeshment in which therapists describe an "attachment panic loop." Anyway, they Brooklyn entered into a feud with his parents, David and Victoria after commenting on Victoria's "inappropriate" dance.

You're right, it's tragic. But there is a such a fine line between comedy and tragedy that leaves us coping by either laughing or crying. If it weren't for that narrow gate to freedom, we'd all be stuck on this miserable, laughable, stage.

Think you're probably going through a pretty low period, which happens to us all but that you might be overthinking it and leaning too heavily on your own understanding too. That's just about the worst thing you can do, take this from an expert on it due to having done similar so much myself.

The LORD genuinely loves us whatever and wants us to turn from sin so he won't need to condemn us, as these scriptures from Ezekiel 33:10-12 demonstrate:
10;“And you, son of man, say to the house of Israel, Thus have you said: ‘Our transgressions and our sins are upon us, and we waste away because of them; how then can we live?’ 11;Say to them, As I live, says the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways; for why will you die, O house of Israel? 12;And you, son of man, say to your people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him when he transgresses; and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall by it when he turns from his wickedness; and the righteous shall not be able to live by his righteousness when he sins.

Hope those scriptures help you understand God loves you, whether or not you feel His love currently. Been there myself, He listens to your prayers even when you feel they're not being heard, hang in there, keep praying and you will feel the connection again. This might be a good article for you to take a look at as well:

God's blessings to you Zoomerx, so hope you really feel them again soon.

Your attitude is not unusual, but it is wrong. God has given you the greatest possible gift, one that transcends anything that man (or woman) can provide. The question is, have you received God's gift? God's gift is Jesus.

Life not important? Jesus gave His life for you. Surely that says something about your worth to God? Jesus said to seek the Kingdom of God as your priority and God will take care of you. The alternative is to live for yourself. There is no joy in that.

God has a plan and purpose for your life, but it is up to you to choose. It is also true that God will prepare you to work in His kingdom, If you are willing. That includes learning to trust Him and not yourself. That can be a hard lesson. You will fail and you will make mistakes. It's part of growing spiritually.

God does not control the world. It's in Satan's hands. God gives us the opportunity to choose His kingdom and leave the kingdom of darkness. You could become a warrior against Satan and his forces, or stay in the camp of the ungrateful and rebellious. Your choice.

Seriously glad we clearly have more in common than we've thought for a while, however, i do think that's a bit harsh on ZoomerX. Think he's only about 24/5 and does seem to have genuine, spiritual interest.
He also seems to know he ain't in a good place and wants some Christian company and advice. That seems worth real consideration and support to me. Know i've felt similar over some stuff when i was young, think he warrants some tlc.

Well, my reply was based on the fact he stated that he does not know what is wrong.

Seems like that could be part of the problem.

Think you might be a fair bit younger than me, not easy telling through text but he appears to be a pretty analytical, smart lad for his age to me. My baby *youngest lad* is 37, his siblings are in their 40's, don't know if you have adult children but ZoomerX seems pretty thoughtful, with decent ethics/spirituality in development to me.
Hard to tell how genuine people are on chat sites, even Christian ones, however, i do think he probably is genuinely seeking truth. People in their mid-20's are just starting to get a real handle on life but he appears to feel a real spiritual need, which is really good and deserves encouragement. He did post a good synopsis in his leader to this thread, it grabbed my attention and unless the facts on the ground change, think he deserves respect and encouragement. It would be horrible for him to lose heart if he's genuinely reaching out for spiritual encouragement and so far, he seems likely to be genuinely doing so to me.
Anyway, that's my two bobsworth, God's blessings and all that's good for now.

I do sense he is truly looking for help.

I think he has received a lot of good advice from people like yourself, @HealthAndHappiness and @Kainos and others. I am the type where something will just stand out to me and I will focus on it.

The dopamine hit he is getting from watching X material is a huge problem and it is addictive and it will kill your soul and that may be why he is feeling the way he is feeling.

Emotional support is fine to a point, from having raised children of my own at some point they have to learn to how to get out of a rut in a healthy way.
It requires a change in behaviour.
Serotonin is where the "content" state is found and there is lots one can do to boast those neuro-transmitters.
(My son is a neuroscientist so he tells me about this stuff).
Mental health issues abound, it is really sad to see all these younger generations struggle.
I am told there is a Gen Z movement that is anti-smart technology, I think they are on the right path. 🙏

Know you mean well too but he is young, very, think he needs encouragement and support more than criticism at the moment. it's good to point out that porn and other x rated stuff isn't helping but he knows that, seems to me he was hoping for some advice on how to go about sorting it out. He made it clear he thought it was a problem in his comment, along with the argument/s with his Mum, really think supportive advice rather than criticism is appropriate.
Must admit, i was shocked at how many seem more bothered about their word being heard, than God's word, when i was a newbie. Think it's much more difficult for a troubled young person to handle, must get some sleep. it's gone 2.30 am here now but it's cooler.
God's blessings and all that's good for now 🤗

I am not seeing where he states he thought it was a problem, maybe you can find that post when you have a chance.

I read the opposite.

I just don't understand what's wrong. i don't know if God even cares, because i also have watched X rated content throughout my life
(i would say since i was around 17 years old, so i was not exposed to it at a young age) and have "argued" with my own mother...

UPDATE....i will need some prayer...recently things have gotten worse in my life. i won't talk much about it here, but to give an example, I've gotten into 2 mini fights (or rather arguments) with my mom, and i find myself feeling angrier at my life and the world.

Could your Mom have some expectations for maturity that makes you feel badly?
God can help.
Most Mom's love their children and want them to grow up to become independent and healthy. When they notice that sins are keeping their young men in a state of immaturity, they will react. Just think about it this way, would you prefer to be forced into a desperate situation or for her to get on your case? Even if she expresses anger, at least there's communication. It hurts, but she hurts too. That's probably why you are both arguing.

As to sins, there must first be a solution. Below is the real solution. It's not through perfecting your life, it's through the perfect Person Who gave His life for you. He can and will save you from the inevitable.
Then He and His Word/ the Bible will provide you with power to overcome sins that are holding you back.
