Not keeping the Sabbath is a Death penalty OT law . There are exemptions to preserve life and this is what I have for you all today. Receive it or leave it it's not up for debate Thank Him

- When you are Baptized into Christ, you don't just "keep" a Sabbath for 24 hours on a Saturday anymore. Your entire life becomes a continuous Sabbath. You are resting permanently from trying to save yourself through religious works, rules, or rituals.

There is no penalty if you're a gentile and only if you are following the Mosaic law would there be any penalty
The New Testament does not contain any correction or penalties for not keeping Saturday sabbath so there we know it's not a sin to go to church on days other than Saturday.
That's because the New Testament does not teach that Christians are supposed to observe Saturday sabbath.
There's no penalty for Jews either once they get born again and become Christians.
This whole sabbath think is like the tithing thing - the New Testament does not teach either.
If it did we would see it in the New Testament, so0 this is a big nothing burger.
What is teaching false body of Christ?.is jesus seated at the right hand ? Did jesus fullfill All The Law? Does Jesus Have All Judgment?. His Doing is All Down now Jesus sits In His Rest and does scripture say about the body of christ also sits on the right hand with Jesus? His rest!
Ephesians 2:6. The Bible says that God "raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus."

When someone asked Jesus what the most important commandment was, he boiled the entire Old Testament down to two simple things:
- Love God with all your heart.
- Love your neighbor as yourself.
But does that mean we ignore the old testament or the laws given by God in the past?
No.
Loving God and your neighbour might be a summary of all the laws but that does not make the other laws VOID.
A study will lead you to a greater understanding of the laws. Their place and purpose. Their validnes today.
Motivated by love you should want to understand these laws in depth so you can understand what sin is.
Jesus came to magnify the law.. make them greater and better understood.
He did not come to simplify them.
Isa 42:21 The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness' sake; he will magnify the law, and make it honourable.
Love is the fulfilling of the law... it is important to know which law..

Sin is the transgression of the law.
If you have made no effort to know the law, how will you know you are transgressing it.
Keep the sabbath day holy, gather together for Holy convocation.

I don't think we would say the commands regarding moral behavior and respect for God no longer apply due to the arrival of Jesus.t still is a violation of God's moral teachings to steal,covet,murder. So why,if we are all one in Christ, do we dare say the Sabbath reminder is for Jews only?
When there were no Jews in the beginning. And yet we somehow say the other nine commandments still apply.
We have our rest in Jesus every day. However for six days in the week our attentions are occupied by the world we are in. Yet,are not part of.
One day away from the world's occupations so to rest solely,souly,in God's peace is a gift.
As Jesus said.
The Sabbath was made for us.
We were not made for the Sabbath.
In the church,the whole community of Holy Spirit filled ,indwelt,believers there's an ideology that pushes back and in a sense double talks itself.
It goes like this.
Sure,you can honor the Sabbath.
Just don't try to say it has to be kept in order to remain in God's grace.
What Bible conscious Christian would even think that way?
hen we are told,we are not Saved by our works,so that we cannot boast. Though many sure seem to think we are,so they can.We are saved by the grace of God. Who gave us his day of rest for our sakes. Sabbath seems to be the go-to for the , selective compliance argument.
You can choose to rest on the day God gifted you,but don't think you have to.
What other commands,that aren't reminders,can we select to not comply with?
Adultery?Lying? Idolatry?
You have a legal right to request Sabbath day as a day off,when applying for a job in America.
Why wouldn't we want to avail ourselves of that gift of God? One day where we unplug from the world we are in?
To rest in the peace of God that we are eternally a part of.
Imagine if Jesus came to you at sunset on Friday and said, join me for a whole day. Just you and me. Talking,sharing,enjoying your space in this busy world,together. No distractions.
Would we say,sorry,no can do. Sabbath is for the Jews only?

This is a subject that I have recently become interested in as well. I'm glad that you wanted to look at this scripture in Numbers in context. As I try to reason this out in "context" as you say I think the strictness of the law was meant for this people who had been under the rule and have adopted many practices of the Egyptians. God required a holy people but it took a strict law and 40 years of hardship to do it. Many died in the wilderness and never got to see the promised land. However, those people would have bought with them the pagan practices of the Egyptians with them. Here is how I look at that scripture where I can apply it to my life. There are some current Sabbath day routines or practices that I may need to remove (stone) out of my life. We must ask ourselves, "How does God want me to keep his Sabbath day holy?" We may be able to rationalize what we allow--"I'm only working because I need these sticks to keep my family warm...I'm only shopping on the Sabbath to feed my family...etc, etc, etc." Of course, we shouldn't be critical of others but we should look at ourselves and decide if there is something that we could add or subtract to our Sabbath day worship that would bring us closer to God. I love your other comments that mention that we should focus on doing good, helping others, and focusing on God. Showing love and extra commitment to God by setting apart the Sabbath as something special is something that we should do as often as we are able.
