That's why the Bible says " For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, THEY are the sons of God." Rom. 8:14. The Spirit leads what it born, you spirit, not your soul. If you are led by the Spirit, which leads your spirit, your soul will follow.

You keep conflating the human spirit for the Holy Spirit.

When was the following said?

Jesus told Nicodemus that he needed to be born again at a time the Holy Spirit was not yet being given.

That Nicodemus needed a human spirit!

Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.
John 3:6

Two births there!

Physical birth is one.
And, what is the other?

Job had FAITH in the PROMISE of his salvation. Just as we have faith in the promise of ours.
Do you believe there is more than one salvation?

fyi ... the salvation of Job was no different than our salvation.

Again, the difference being we have received an" earnest" or down payment of salvation by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
the "earnest" we have received is the "earnest of our inheritance" ... not the "earnest" of salvation.

2 Corinthians 1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

2 Corinthians 5:5 Now he that hath wrought us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest of the Spirit.

Ephesians 1:13-14 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

The "earnest of the spirit" (2 Corinthians 1:22; 5:5) is the "earnest of our inheritance" (Ephesians 1:14).

Do you believe only NT believers receive an inheritance? ... that no OT believer will receive an inheritance?

I believe OT believers are beneficiaries as well:

Psalm 16:5-6 The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.

There were about 2,000 years of grace ( Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression." Rom. 4:15), 2,000 years of the law and now over 2,000 years of grace again, in this present time.
Romans 5:12-13 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

The period of time prior to the time God gave the law to Moses and wherein sin was not imputed is not the same as the age of grace which began on Day of Pentecost when the promise of the Father was sent.

If it was the same, then there would have been no need for the Lord Jesus Christ to have come to fulfill His earthly ministry, be crucified, resurrected, ascend into heaven, and send the Comforter 10 days later.

John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

Do you believe there is more than one salvation?

1 Peter 1:6-9
In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer
grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—
of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise,
glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him;
and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible
and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

There are different types of salvations.
Once one is saved by believing in Jesus Christ?
We become saved from the Lake of Fire.

But?

Salvation of the soul?
That about when we are to seek (and fight) for sound doctrine.
Then study the sound doctrine to begin thinking with it as your way of life.

God wants those who are on that path of learning and gaining wisdom,
to be challenged and resisted, and made to suffer at times.

God wants our faith tested!

The times of resistance and suffering we must face are there to test us to see if we are thinking with is genuine
sound doctrine.. Those who continue to take in more and applying the word , will reach a point when
the powers of darkness run out of gas. Evil then must avoid you because evil will find the truth you grow into it
can not refute. Genuine faith (sound doctrinal thinking) evil finds frightening and painful to be confronted by.
When you become strong enough? The Devil must flee being unable the bear the light of the truth you live by.

So if you resist the devil's opposition by his resistance to your progress?
Resist by growing more and more in knowledge and wisdom?
He must flee from you!

Incontrast to those who desire sound doctrine?
False doctrine will cause the devil to hang around you and pretend to be the Holy Spirit to advise and keep
you encouraged to remain with false doctrine. Such believers will become proficient in defending
what they want to believe...

When God's salvation of the Soul finally arrives?
God grants a supernatural inner peace and mental relaxation that can not be effected
by the intense dogmatism of those who fail to achieve the salvation of the soul.

1.) Belief in Christ? = Salvation from the Lake of Fire.

2.) Salvation of the soul? = Salvation from the evil and deceptions found around us in this world.

In new heaven/new earth, those who received salvation during their sojourn in the lifetime afforded to them on this earth will be saved from the Lake of Fire ... whether they believed prior to the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ to fulfill His ministry ... or whether they believe after His coming.

I'm talking salvation here ... not the ongoing walk of faith each person must partake of ... and grow in ... during his or her life after having received salvation.

I understand what you are saying. I'm just trying to clarify that salvation in OT is the same in the NT ... salvation by grace through faith is the same in OT as it is in the NT.

The Cornerstone in the OT is the same Cornerstone in the NT. Lay the foundation upon the Chief Corner, our sure Foundation. There is only One Cornerstone upon which to build ... whether one lived prior to the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ or after the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ. I read about those who came before and I am amazed and blessed at their walk of faith.

Yes ... growing more and more in the "knowledge of God and the Lord Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 2:2). yet satan will continue to try to get his foothold every now and again. And as we stand steadfast in faith as he pokes and prods in his efforts to distract us, God continues His work within us to "perfect, establish, strengthen, settle" (1 Peter 5:10). "To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever" (1 Peter 5:11).

Incontrast to those who desire sound doctrine?
False doctrine will cause the devil to hang around you and pretend to be the Holy Spirit to advise and keep

I understand.

yet in the end the believer whose work consisted of wood, hay, stubble will suffer loss, but he or she shall be saved (1 Corinthians 3:15).

It is not up to me to make anyone believe. We are workers together with God to plant and water. It is God Who brings the increase. And God will not increase man's doctrine/dogma. God will only increase His Word spoken in truth by those who plant/water. (1 Corinthians 3:7-9).

yes, the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) ... the peace the Lord Jesus Christ promised (John 14:27).

As far as "salvation from the evil and deceptions found around us in this world"? As long as we are in this world, the evil and deceptions will continue. There is a time coming when the Lord Jesus Christ will come as King of kings and Lord of lords ... satan and his minions will be bound ... the promise God made to Abraham all those many years ago shall be fulfilled. Every single promise God made in His Word shall be fulfilled.

.

I understand.

yet in the end the believer whose work consisted of wood, hay, stubble will suffer loss, but he or she shall be saved (1 Corinthians 3:15).

Wood, hay, and stubble = failing to gain in time salvation of the soul and the peace that is given by grace.

Wood, hay, and stubble = thinking based upon false doctrine.

if a person is born again in our day and time ... yet that person is engaged in "thinking based upon false doctrine" ... is that person still born again? ... that person is still saved? ...

1 Corinthians 3:13-15

13 Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is.

14 If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward.

15 If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss:
but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

the only thing that is lost to the person is the rewards (crowns) to be received for faithful stewardship ...

Incorruptible crown (given to those who are temperate, abstain from unproductive behavior) – 1 Corinthians 9:25 And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperatein all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

Crown of rejoicing (given to those who proclaim the gospel and bring others to Christ) – 1 Thessalonians 2:19-20 For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even ye in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? For ye are our glory and joy.

Crown of righteousness (given to those who love the appearing of the Lord Jesus Christ) – 2 Timothy 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Crown of life (given to those who love the Lord and endure temptations/trials in their love of the Lord) – James 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.

Crown of glory (given to those who are examples and who faithfully serve the flock) – 1 Peter 5:3-4 Neither as being lords over God's heritage, but being ensamples to the flock. And when the chief Shepherd shall appear, ye shall receive a crown of glory that fadeth not away.

Rewards (crowns) are not salvation ... although, if no salvation, no crowns.

Inner tranquility of soul and peace is what is granted from God after passing the testings required for the salvation of the soul.

The one who follows false teachings will lose out on the special inner happiness while on earth.
And will forfeit rewards after they die.

They will be saved as one running from a burning house is saved.
Saved with nothing more than his own self making it into heaven.

No rewards.

We can also get to the point where we recognize that even though we are going through a time of trial or temptation we have that peace of God which passes all understanding during time of turmoil ... joy in the midst of grief/despair ... comfort during tribulation.

πνεύματος (pneumatos): Genitive of "spirit" or "breath." The Greek word pneuma is a euphemism for breathing/wind; thus, the text draws a wordplay where a body without breath is dead, just as faith without works is spiritually dead.

Nothing deceptive on my part, not my fault you can't see past one meaning. 🙈

I've been cleaning you up all through this discussion. And not true it is good for nothing afterwards, you are just as narrow in your imagination as you are in your understanding.
The only thing you have cleaned up is the fact that you don't know WHAT you are. Thanks! BTW, isn't spirit also a euphemism for pneuma? If so, and it is, why didn't you use both? Oh, it's YOU who can't see past one meaning. SMH. P.S. What is sawdust good for after absorbing up liquid waste, except the waste basket?

A soul without a human spirit will be dead to God.
Believers will be dead to God in that case?
" A soul without a human spirit will be dead to God." Correct. Our "quickened" spirits, are to lead our souls, "For as many who are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God" Rom. 8:14, for the Holy Spirit leads the part of us that He birthed. The believers spirit and soul, joined eventually by a renewed body, will spend eternity with God. The unbelievers soul will spend eternity separated from God.

It is speaking of the life of the body which, is physical and that life relies on us breathing, not on having a human spirit. If we had a spirit, we would not need to be born spiritually, we would have already been born spiritually and would be able to relate to God. However, we cannot relate to God, all spiritual phenomenon is foolishness to the unspiritual for they do not have the capacity (ie a spirit) to discern it. You need to learn to read in context.

I know exactly what I am, a living soul just as God declared. You are the one who thinks they are a heavenly entity, a spirit. 😇

You don't know what sawdust can be used for after cleaning up the slop? Why am I not surprised.

Apparently you do not know what a euphemism is.
You use words you do not understand.

Pneuma does not need to be euphemized.
Pneuma simply means 'spirit'.

I'm not conflating anything, that's why I used a capital S and a small s, differentiating between the two. Nicodemus needed his spirit to be" quickened " by the Holy Spirit and that couldn't happen until after the "death of the testator." Heb. 9:16, when the Holy Spirit was sent. " The spirit of man is often seen as the aspect(of man) that RECEIVES divine influence. The Holy Spirit "quickens" the inner being, AWAKENING spiritual life, regenerating the soul. AI generated. Mans spirit has to be in existence to receive divine influence. Awakening also means the spirit was in existence, but was " shapen in iniquity: and in sin did my mother conceive me." Psm. 51:5, thereby deadening it. Quicken Heb. 2421-khaw-yaw; a prim. root to live, whether lit. or fig.; causative to REVIVE: keep(leave, make) alive.... Greek 2227; to(RE) vitalize(lit. or fig.) :-- make alive, give life, quicken.

And their dead spirits will go where?
Again, spirits don't die, they are eternal. Mans spirit " goes up ", that's what the Bible says. " But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him: for the Lord thy God hardened his SPIRIT, and made his heart obstinate, that he might deliver him into thy hand." Deut. 2:30. " And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful SPIRIT: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my SOUL before the Lord." 1 Sam. 1:15. "And the God of Israel stirred up the SPIRIT of Pul king of Assyria, and the SPIRIT of Tilgathpilneser king of Assyria, and He carried them away, even the Reubanites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto this day." 1 Chron 5:26. These are just a few examples of man, righteous AND unrighteous, having spirits and souls, in the Old Covenant. There are many more, but if you want to keep believing what the Bible doesn't say, have at it.

Why didn't you use both?
I'll post these scripture again, 1 Sam. 1:15, 1 Chron. 5: 26 and Deut. 2:30, among many others, and then tell me, no tell the Spirit of God, that man didn't or doesn't have a spirit before Christ. Refute Biblical proof ( and it's not referring to breath ). Then I'll KNOW what kind of spirit you are of.

Do you believe there is more than one salvation?

fyi ... the salvation of Job was no different than our salvation.

the "earnest" we have received is the "earnest of our inheritance" ... not the "earnest" of salvation.

Romans 5:12-13 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (For until the law sin was in the world: but sin is not imputed when there is no law.

John 16:7 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

.
I never intimated that there was a difference in the salvation of OT and NT believers. We, in the New Covenant, have been given a down payment or earnest of our inheritance by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, which the OT believers did not, and the fullness of salvation is part of that inheritance, is it not? What do you call the period before the dispensation of the law? I believe that unimputed sin is grace, what else would you call it?" Do you believe that only NT believers receive an inheritance?" I would have to believe in replacement theory to believe that, which I certainly don't. There are too many promises God made to the Jewish people that have not been fulfilled. So, of course they have inheritances. You are reading or assuming things that I have not even hinted at, slow down and don't be so influenced by others.

I wasn't posting to you in the first place. I know full well what euphemism means.

Well?

Here we go.

1 Sam. 1:15?

“Not so, my lord,” Hannah replied, “I am a woman who is deeply troubled. I have not been drinking wine or beer; I was pouring out my soul to the Lord.

1 Chronicles 5:26

So the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, that is, Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria. He carried the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half-tribe of Manasseh into captivity. He took them to Halah, Habor, Hara, and the river of Gozan to this day.

What has that got to do with a human spirit? You are the one who claims God brings to life our dead human spirit in salvation.
King Pul was not even close to being a believer.

Deuteronomy 2:30

But Sihon king of Heshbon refused to let us pass through. For the Lord your God had made his spirit stubborn and his heart obstinate in order to give him into your hands, as he has now done.

Again. That has nothing to do with the human spirit we have given us in salvation.

You are just looking up passages that contain the word spirit? You have no understanding as to what it means in those passages.
