R.I.P. Nedra Yvonne Talley-Ross (January 27, 1946 – April 26, 2026), an American singer best
known as a member of the girl group the Ronettes, formed in 1957, in which she performed
with her cousins Ronnie and Estelle Bennett. Her husband was Scott Ross (1939–2023), a
former DJ turned interviewer for The 700 Club on the Christian Broadcasting Network. She
was the last survivor of the original Ronettes and was a born again Christian. This song
was released in August of 1963, produced by Phil Spector, whose interference with the
group led to their break-up in 1967. He later married Ronnie Bennett.

R.I.P. Clive Jay Davis (April 4, 1932 – June 22, 2026), an American record executive, A&R executive,
record producer and lawyer. He won four Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame as a non-performer in 2000. From 1967 to 1973, Davis was the president of Columbia
Records; the founder and president of Arista Records from 1974 through 2000 until founding J Records.
From 2002 until April 2008, he was chair and CEO of the RCA Music Group (which included RCA Records,
J Records, and Arista Records), chair and CEO of J Records, and chair and CEO of BMG North America.

Davis is credited with having signed many artists who achieved significant success, including Pink
Floyd; Sly and the Family Stone; Janis Joplin; Laura Nyro; Santana; Bruce Springsteen; Chicago; Earth,
Wind & Fire; Aerosmith; Billy Joel; Donovan; the Bay City Rollers; Blood, Sweat & Tears; Luther Vandross;
Loggins and Messina; Ace of Base; Olivia Longott; Westlife; and Gavin DeGraw. Davis is credited with
bringing Whitney Houston and Barry Manilow to prominent stature as artists. Davis served as the chief
creative officer of Sony Music Entertainment from 2008 until his death in 2026. <- from wiki

The defining 1960s song associated with legendary music executive Clive Jay Davis is "Piece of My Heart"
by Big Brother & the Holding Company, featuring Janis Joplin, released in 1968 on their hit album Cheap
Thrills. It was originally recorded and released in October 1967 by soul singer Erma Franklin.

R.I.P. Victor Edward Willis (July 1, 1951 – June 30, 2026), an American singer-songwriter who co-founded the
disco group Village People. He performed as their lead singer and was co-songwriter for all of their most
successful singles. In the group, Willis performed costumed as a policeman or naval officer. The son of a
Baptist preacher, Willis developed his singing skills in his father's church. As the lead singer and lyricist of
the disco group The Village People, he was heterosexual and openly maintained throughout his career
that his songs were about themes like Black male friendship and urban city life, even though the LGBTQ+
community widely adopted his songs. The Village People released their hit single "Y.M.C.A." in October 1978.
It was the lead single from their third studio album, Cruisin', and quickly became a global disco anthem.
