Your dad's faith in the true religion and true understanding of Jesus is not something you can control. It is important you tell him the truth. If the blind lead the blind they both merely end up in the ditch. This is more of a reason you should renounce the heresy and convert to Christianity, then you can actually tell him the real Gospel with understanding that he also could believe and be saved while there is still time, or which he will disbelieve and have no more excuses, they can't feign ignorance in front of the omniscient God, only those with true and correct faith shall be saved, praise Jesus.
Right and to play into this analogy. You can't fix a leaky faucet if you don't have faith in the full wrench process, the reason they don't have faith and aren't even looking at the faucet is for belief in a heresy, they have been deceived into belief in a false plumbing fix, in some duct tape analagously, they believe the faucet was fixed long ago and then erroneously are deceived into thinking the problem is the plumbers telling them that their problem is a leaky faucet that can only be fixed by removing the duct tape and fixing it correctly with the wrench.
You're analogy has fallen apart. It is God wielding the wrench in salvation. We are the faucet.
The leak is damnation, the solution is salvation, the sink's owner is the person, the duct tape is the heresy, the deceitful plumber that deceived the owner with the duct tape is the Devil, the faithful plumber is the Christians. The wrench is the religion of Christianity and the only true God that can provide the correct solution, praise Jesus.
Nope. It's much simpler. The faucet is the individual. The one exercising power is God. He is the one who turns the faith that yields salvation. The only one exercising power is God.
Faith is belief. If you believe a lie from the Devil, if you believe the duct tape fixed the leak, well you're just deluded and the drip of damnation remains. If you believe in the process of the wrench your faucet will be saved. Praise Jesus.
You still believe salvation requires your belief. Salvation produces your belief. That's the whole point of the analogy. Being saved by grace means it is God exercising His power to yield salvation.
Right that's why the analogy is about faith; no faith, no grace, they are not saved.
It does require belief, belief is faith. If you don't believe the Gospel then you don't believe in God. There since they don't believe in God then God will show no grace to them but will give them exactly what they deserve and God will save us from them and show unto us his great mercy, praise Jesus.

That be an interesting BDF topic actually. However to touch it quick, if faith was the result of salvation then none of the wicked could ever even convert. They'd have a cloak for their sins and excuses on the judgment day. That's why to be saved you must believe the correct religion of Christianity, you must believe the Gospel, you must believe the Bible, you must believe God. Otherwise the Bible is really clear that you (or me or anyone, literally everyone) will be damned to the eternal hellfire for rejecting God and disbelief in the Gospel of Jesus. It's John 3:16-21
When God exercises His grace through faith, belief in Christ is always the result. That's what Ephesians 2:8 is teaching.
Here's another connection: Matthew 16: 15-18. Why is Peter blessed? Because God has revealed to him who Christ is. This is what occurs when God saves by grace through faith. And it is how Christ’s church is built.

1 Peter 1 be an interesting chapter to that response which I don't have time for at this moment right here but it's an interesting side debate to the doctrine madness side digression I suppose. To type this fast and brief, let me point out verses 1 Peter 1:3-9 for our debate specific, and brevity, but really the whole chapter isn't that long and is actually touching a good bit of the theological, eschatological, and core Gospel themes of the side debates/discussions in addition to points about faith and grace as our tangent is going to.
