Thanks for your response but i really am not sure I understand your comment. I think you believe there might be two separate events here and perhaps I am not discussing the later one but I do not understand .... Please tell me what you mean:

1) what event did take place in the past, that,

2) will repeat again in the future? Thanks so much. I hope to better understand how you are interpreting parts of Daniel...

What you're talking about. You said it already happened and won't happen again? Is that what you believe?

2 Peter 3

3 Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4 And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5 For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6 Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
11 Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
12 Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat?
13 Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.
14 Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.

2000 years=2 days

Exodus 19

10 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes,
11 And be ready against the third day: for the third day the Lord will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.

Hosea 6

1 Come, and let us return unto the Lord: for he hath torn, and he will heal us; he hath smitten, and he will bind us up.
2 After two days will he revive us: in the third day he will raise us up, and we shall live in his sight.

John 2

1 And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:
2 And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.

Luke 13

32 And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.
33 Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following: for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.

This post could go on for a very long time.

That might be a tricky connection, since the scripture does not have anything directly to say about the middle ages.
I would respectfully ask that you might hold off this statement until later.... I think you may come to agree that the Book of Revelation does speak of the times of the middle ages - if by middle ages, you include the period of the Reformation. If you are speaking of the centuries from the 600's to the 1500's, then you are indeed correct - God does not write about those times.

Wayne, I certainly agree he is the man of sin, but two questions for you to help me understand your thoughts:

1) Is this man of sin also the same one as the little horn of Daniel 7 and 8?
The little horn in chapter 7 I see as the Papacy - The one described in Dan 8:23 onwards I believe is Antiochus IV (not dogmatic on this though) but I also believe there is a "far" fulfilment with the Mohammedanism anti-Christ power that rose up.

2) Do you believe there is literaly an "anti-christ" figure that will arrive on the scene in the future, as opposed that John during those 4 verses speak of the "spirit of the anti-christ" and not a literal individual?

Thanks.
No to the future thing - we use the anti-Christ title for the man of sin because that is what is popular to do :) in the Bible anyone against or in place of Christ is anti-Christ.

2 Thessalonians 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

This verse about the man of sin is saying the Bishop of Rome's power is kept in check by the Roman Emperors but once they are taken away that is when the man of sin will be revealed - In fact early Christians used to pray for the safe keeping of the emperors, despite the persecutions because they knew worse persecutions would follow once they are taken out of the way

The Seven Epistles to the Church of Revelation 3&4 span the length of the entire Church age up to the harpazo. Including of course the middle ages.

Yes, you heard that right, harpazo.

For the Nissuin must needs happen before the man of sin is revealed. Who is the driving force of the time of Jacob's trouble the GT.

Which of course leads to the repentance of the Nation Israel (the symmetrical antithesis of their rejection), and the Second Coming.

You didn't get the memo?

As for if I am wrong and if it is literal would I take it ? Of course not - I would rather die than deny God.

That's all that matters to me. If it does happen in our lifetime, even if you don't believe it now, I want to know that you'll be okay and always choose God!

But do not forget the book of Revelation says right at the beginning it is symbolic:

Revelation 1:1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:

Jesus used that word to also "signify" the kind of death He would die. He used a symbol (being "lifted up") to point to a very literal, historical event: His crucifixion. The use of a sign does not cancel out the literal reality of the event. It simply means God used imagery to reveal a truth that will actually happen. So all that stuff in Revelation is still yet to come. But if you refuse to see its dual fulfillment and the second complete fulfillment occurs in our lifetime, I don't know if you'll recognize it as such.

What already happened that you think will happen again? Please help me here?

You believe all these prophecies already came to pass. I agree with you that the first partial fulfillment already came to pass. I'm guessing you don't believe in dual fulfillment?

An absolutely absurd analysis and hopelessly Biblically illiterate.

Thank you and if we ever get to chapter 7 and then 8 I believe you will have no problem that the little horn of 7 and 8 are the same....and is the same in chapter 11 (evil one), the same one discussed in 2 Thessalonians 2, and of course, the same one discussed in Revelation in different names.

Now, if you do not mind and if you are willing, what haven't i provided so far that would steer you to accepting the clay is indeed a symbol of Israel within the iron fee of Rome at the time of the cross?

Also, what would it take other than what I have already provided to steer you to accepting 2:34 as His first coming and in fulfilling His God given mission, it demanded that a Jewish remnant - those identified as "pottery clay" had to be selected by Christ so that His gospel could be preached throughout the Roman Empire?

And if my earlier narratives failed miserably, I understand, but I would respectfully ask that you might be willing to answer those questions found in post #250 as well as understanding how you interpret verses 41-45.

That seems very plausible to me

I see the start of it as the first coming but also V 35 as the second - I guess that is where we differ, but that would not stop me understanding the rest of your position.
how you interpret verses 41-45.
I have posted my view on those verses before - I hold the Historist position - sorry :(

What do full preterists see? How will things end?

No idea - If they believe everything has been fulfilled then we are living in the physical kingdom of God now with no more tears and no more sorrow etc which clearly isn't the case - but I am not a preterist so maybe they have an answer for that.

Such kind words from such a wise man - thank you :)
Just to let you know:
Demonizing the RC Church and popes as the Church Age anti-christ etc are and old worn out and ridiculous Reformed trope.

I think the three main religions of the world - Islam, Judaism, and Christianity (the ones that love war because they think it will rush the second coming) will bring the world to another world war, then either Christ will return at that time orrrrr He will have the nations defeated and true Christians will take power - and then He will return to be with us.

By the way the three main religions i see as the croaking frogs in Revelation, always spouting their propaganda day and night. :)
