Did Satan ever have authority? Maybe. I would be willing to see some verses. Paul says that we used to walk according to the system of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air. But this seems more like being directed by deception rather than authority. People who walk according to this world system do so voluntarily, not under compulsion by an authority.

But maybe I need to study more.

The New covenant began with His resurrection, and after that He sent His disciples to the whole world.

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Between Rome and Jerusalem all of Jesus' original disciples other than John were all killed, and had not Jerusalem been destroyed most if not all of the Christians might have also been killed.
I think most of the book of Revelations, whether from a heavenly or earthly standpoint, is about the destruction of Jerusalem.
This includes the four horsemen, the bowls of wrath, the two witnesses and the first six trumpets.
The seventh trumpet however is about the rise of Christ's kingdom from the ashes of old Jerusalem:

Revelations 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

So now we find ourselves in a world where the power of Satan can be seen yet still,
and I you said that you struggle to see that Satan is chained.
I think that matter is better understood when the nature of Christ's kingdom is understood.
Christ's kingdom is eternal, meaning without time.
It is present and heavenly, not future and earthly.

I do not believe the literal heaven and earth will be destroyed since that was a reference to the destruction of the temple in 70 AD.

However, scripture is clear Christ Jesus fulfilled all the promises.

Romans 15:8

Revelations being written before 70AD is a recent discovery for me, and having sat on the fence long on the interpretations I still find it exciting.
I would be disappointed to find out that you are right about the new heavens and earth though, because the evil powers of the world are in desperate need of judgement.
I hope they will not continue forever to grow in power while deceiving and exploiting our children.

Satan didn't say he owned the nations or that he even ruled the nations. He said that he could give Jesus the nations if he bowed down to him. Satan doesn't exert power over people. He deceives them, and they want to be deceived.

My toes curled a bit at the suggestion that Satan created the world, but I am sure that you are not telling us that he created the earth.
I am considering that @Roger316 answer is correct, because Satan is in rebellion against God.
He is very cunning at projecting authority, but that does not mean that he is the rightful owner of that authority.
I also think of the story of Job how God did not restrain Satan in doing harm to Job other that from taking his life, and note that God uses even the free will of Satan to accomplish His own good work.
Also, the 1000 year reign of Jesus as it is in Revelations 20 does not necessarily describe a world without sin, and tells us that Satan must be loosed for a little season following that time.

The narrator of the video rightly acknowledges that Petra was used as a refuge both in the Babylonian invasion and in the 70AD destruction of Jerusalem.
His biblical references would be fine if only he could refrain from applying every prophesy to more than 2000 years after it's fulfillment.
The funny part is that he thinks that fleeing to Petra is going to save people in a modern war scenario.

How these people get past the fact that Mathew 24 is about the destruction of Jerusalem I do not know.

Mathew 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

Yeah, it’s the same word, different meaning. World can mean people (“For God so loved the world…”) or Satan’s systems (“Love not the world…”). But you are correct: he did not create the earth.

Absolutely about the destruction but the view of it is future not 70 ad.
Although using this passage alone is supported by many similar events that happened leading up to the destruction there are in this passage two holes that are not addressed.

1. Jesus talks about nation against nation....empires are not nations.
2. Jesus siad not one stone will be upon another.....yet we have today a western wall that survived the destruction.
I know I go against many theologians on this subject of destruction but I also chose Gods word over theory.

I do understand about wanting a refresh, it is difficult road accepting what is really in The book of Revelation as the Revelation of Christ Jesus to the first century church.

However, this present delusion will pass, it has too because time is ticking and people are realizing that it is not measuring up to Hal Lindsey' s plan of Late Great Planet Earth.

Yes, we need to make sure that we train our children well, to not let these delusions occur again... the presence of Christ is magnified when we take a stand where He stands, I see the darkness being recognized but unsure where it will lead, because of technology and the impending surveillance state, that is a worry.

Evil people, create ideologies (in this case dispensationalism and the other movement that goes with it) play their hand, become over confident and fail, this is seen over and over again in history.

It really is frustrating to know >>> what has caused the impotency of the church is trusting in a false system which was designed to make the church impotent...waiting for the rapture comes to mind.

I do think we will reap what we have sown, because we went with lies over God's truth but hopefully we can pass this onto the next generation so these mistakes can be avoided in the future.

Agree. My point is that Michael didn't bring accusation against the devil over Moses' body, but the Lord did render Satan impotent against the church. The cross changed everything in the unseen realms. Whatever dominion Satan gained in the fall is no longer present when Jesus is granted all authority.
