Even if I made them take off their shoes, so there would be a pile of shoes and smelly socks by the door, they would still run around, because they liked playing tiggy, and the boys wanted to chase the girls.

It was crazy.

How to stop children from running inside? Tie them up... Joking just joking.... or put them outside and turn them loose.

I've had enough of bending down to tie boy's shoelaces at school thanks. But good idea, to tie them together so they can't run.

Yes usually after they've had a playground run outside they are more settled.

Something like The Amazing Labyrinth Race except it's an Escape Room?

What do you do?

I thought of having furniture barriers or a string curtain.
Or maybe a hamster wheel for them.
signs dont work as they cant or dont read them.

If they dont listen and keep disobeying, do you just ban them for life or what. Tired of playing traffic cop. Solutions please!

Make they go back and walk to do it correctly. Hamster wheel is a good idea though. 😂

Now, how do you stop children from rolling on the floor?

Not in laughter...but just rolling around. ??

Again, nobody has any tips

Maybe should go to a different forum. What can expect from CC where possibly there are Pentecostal Holy-Roller types where carpet time is completely normal and encouraged?

They don't obey you at this age.
That's a problem in itself.

I knew someone like that. They let their child make the rules by ignoring those the parent made.

One day, running like a maniac in the house again, the child tripped on the edge of the area rug. He went flying and crashed into the toys he refused to pick up earlier. Plastic toys.

He's crying, all upset at the destruction of his stuff.
He wasn't hurt,bleeding,etc..

His mom came to him, surveyed the scene , looked at her kid and simply said, this is why you clean up after yourself and don't run in the house when you have a ten acre yard to play in.

Then,she walked away.

The child eventually realized what was up and went to his room. She came out, gathered his broken toys and threw them in the recycling tote to be picked up the next day.
They were never replaced.

Kids let to be undisciplined brats, grow up to be unv bearable adults.

This life has rules. Instill that early on. Or everyone suffers later. Including that now adult brat.

I guess it has to come from home, when they reach school age (5-6) maybe its a bit too late.
many children just don't have parents at home to supervise.

Or it's the older children who are roped into babysitting the younger siblings but they aren't disciplined themselves.

I remember one time the teacher let the chidren in the library and I wasn't there, (must have been sick or away) and the next day I came back and the library was trashed. Like books on the floor, rubbish not picked up, cushions a mess etc.

The teacher obviously didn't teach or have time to get the children to tidy up at the end of their library time.

It always starts in the home. It is part of parental responsibility.

Now days though parents are often afraid to discipline because schools, who have custody of their kids for more hours a day than the parents, tell them discipline is abuse.

Here the public schools told their students ,if their parent yells at them that's verbal abuse.
Come to school the next day and tell their guidance counselor or teacher. So the school can take steps to insure they're safe.

I was at the grocery store not long ago. A little boy was loudly berrating his mom for refusing to buy him the toy he'd carried with him through the store.
The mom just stood there, obviously embarrassed.
She bought the toy.

I've witnessed kids throwing tantrums that would never have happened when I was a child.
The parent always gives in.

It's sad. The kids are let to think boundaries don't really matter. Which is a bad precedent to set for children who are going to grow up thinking that's how the world works.

Nothing much you can do about it sadly

Did you ever see the tv show SuperNanny?

The parents actually need to be trained in how to look after their children and raise them properly. A lot of brats these days who think they can just get away with anything.

I really wouldn't take children out shopping that's just asking for trouble if you don't give them instructions i.e I will only give you $2 to spend you can pick anything that costs under $2.

Just need to have a few strategies up your sleeve to preempt the tantrums. Let the child take a bit of ownership/responsibilty for their behaviour as well, including consequences which they will have when they get things wrong. And they will. They are still learning.

The Bible says to use a rod but, you aren't allowed to do that so, good luck. Discipline must begin in the home. One thing that never helps there is for parent 1 to tell the kids to stop (...........) while parent 2 ignores/doesn't back them up. Then when parent 1 isn't home parent 2 just lets them do as they please. Kids need discipline, consistency, and for both parents to be on the same page.

The rod is just a measuring stick like a staff.
It's not used to BEAT people with...but to lead and guide

I didn't carry one in school but teachers in the olden days would have.

Shepherds used to have them

Moses had one.

Now people just use their arms and hands.

Kings and Queens use this to symbolise their power and authority.download-3.jpg It's called a sceptre.

You actually need authority to teach. You can get an LTA - a limited authority to teach if you are an unqualified or unregistered teacher. All teachers need a teaching certificate/license. Its a diploma or certificate at least, aside from whatever other qualification they have.
