I agree. I got saved 3 months ago. I went through trauma last year and still recovering. My life has changed so much and is so much better since I cried out to God.

Next man I meet would be friends first, see how things go and no sex before marriage. How many men will these days will agree to that? 🤔

Firstly, welcome.

I'm sorry you've been through trauma. Sadly we live in a world that is broken and in need of God. As a result, trauma will be a part of our lives and for many, it changes us as a person. It can take a long time to heal.

But we can heal with God and through looking to Him.

Would be nice to hear more about you, your story and how you got saved. If you're looking for new material to read and to listen to, I can recommend some good stuff for you to get your teeth into.

Nice to meet you. I'm sure you'll be made to feel welcome here.

How many men are worth having if they won't? Though I have observed that it seems when men say or hear friends they interpret it as I don't find you attractive enough to date. When women say or hear friends they usually interpret it as I want more time to get to know you without the pressure of bringing romance or commitment into it. So just make sure the guy knows the door is open to eventually more when you say friends.

Just to add, I'm sure many here will also be willing to help you with recommended preachers, sermons, books etc. 👌

Ash!!! Stay strong!!! By not having sex before marriage you filter out only the most amazing wonderful men that's how I found my late husband who passed away recently but we had 20 wonderful years together and I hope you find the same or even better someone who lives longer!!!

God bless you Sister you are my prayers and I'm so proud of you!!!

You would be surprised... There are good Christian men out there who can recognize the sacrifices that are necessary to warrant the answers to their prayers for a proverbs 31 woman; as a means to be worthy as the answer to such a woman's prayers.... 😇

Yea beware the pretenders.

Hoping the best for you. Don't rush into anything.

I came a bit late in the game (of dating) so, by the time I was a born again I was in my 30s and every decent man seemed to be already taken. lol

But thats just where I live has a small population so...it is what it is. I don't actually mind being unmarried.

Your 'next man' is? Have you already been married? 3 months isn't that long, if you a baby Christian you need to get grounded first (and baptised etc) and not just go into church expecting suitors lining up at your door. It doesn't work that way. Cultivate your relationship with Jesus first.

She does not need any "new material" just yet - the Bible is all she needs for a while...

@Ash1234 - please be careful who you listen to - there is much more error in the world than truth - many wrong paths await you to stumble into their subtle trap - stick with the Bible [only] until you have enough understanding to be able to discern whether or not you are being led astray...

I would... :) (because, I am trying my very best to do things the right way - and, always have)
Same as myself. Before getting baptised when I done my repenting, i realised how much of a sinner I was...I felt such shame. I got baptised on Easter Sunday 😁

yea same story.. Im in my late 30's. I got divorced 4 years ago. I go to church to worship and listen to sermons. I have done courses, and also in the middle of an alpha course. I associate with people in my church at the cafe etc.. I am not looking for a relationship right away, friends first for a while etc...I know i'm not ready looking for a relationship atm, it was just a question I was wondering

One way to rule out pretenders, is to see if he, she cheerfully give offering to God, based on scripture teaching.
Wherever his treasure is, is where his heart is.
Also a measure of faith.

Some in church for decades, but never giving. Just not sure where the faith is.

I think it’s less about how many men would “agree” to it, and more about finding someone whose values and heart are already aligned with yours.

I do believe there are Christian men for whom waiting until marriage is important and natural. But I think it works best when it doesn’t feel like one person is simply agreeing to a rule, but rather something that both already share and value deeply.

I also believe that good relationships often grow out of friendship first. Where you can genuinely enjoy each other’s company, share everyday life and build trust through both good and difficult seasons.

And after something like trauma or a divorce, I think it’s really important to give yourself time to heal gently. There’s no need to rush into something new or look for a “band-aid” relationship, but instead allow time for healing and restoration at your own pace.

I’ve found that when you focus on healing, growth, and trusting God’s timing, the right people often come into your life in a very natural way.

Well spoken Soul Faith.. I agree there are lots of pretenders out there, how do I know??? Because I was one of them until God stripped me of all that I thought I knew.. I played the games with women and found out too late how amazing my former wife after our divorce And even more sad all this as a minister and preacher of the gospel..😢 So please take my advice Ash allow Him to be your all in all and then when you least expect it BAM!!!! Here comes the man God has assigned to you.. Let men know your thoughts on this and Welcome I’m new as well… Blessings

Hey Soul, how’s it going??? Just checking in with you to see how you’re doing… Be Blessed and have a great week… HizSon

In my experience men tolerate this much better than women. But then most women don’t actually want a Christian man from the church. They want the bar guy to come to church with them. They want the delusion of the bad boy with no rules and godly qualities.
