Whose Son Is the Messiah?
41Then Jesus said to them, “Why is it said that the Messiah is the son of David?42David himself declares in the Book of Psalms:
“ ‘The Lord said to my Lord:
“Sit at my right hand
43 until I make your enemies
a footstool for your feet.” ’
44 David calls him ‘Lord.’ How then can he be his son?”

NOTES: ~ the faultfinding of opposers' insidious questions exposed their evil, subtlety, and meanness, which were the exact opposites of the Man-Savior's perfection, wisdom, and dignity. This vindicated Him in His human perfection with His divine splendor and muzzled them in their hateful plot and their Satan-instigated conspiracy. They were trying to find fault with the Man-Savior, but eventually they were subdued by Him, the perfect and blameless One.

Joseph knew his life would be shorten .
because the angel told Joseph that Jesus would take the eternal Throne of David.

Thats how We All should be Dealing with the Lord! Joseph never questioned or held anything from God. They did keep documents Joseph 100% knew what that meant and it was amazing how it was all set up by time I was just looking into this a few weeks back someone was posting about Joseph and I was giving him Grand recognition of the Lord for the other poster. It meant nothing much because of not much of it about him the people don't understand the Holy Spirit knows everything and shows us the bigger picture you can find in Scripture
lot of times it's Just common sense by knowing the Word of the Word!

We don't read anything in the Bible about when Joseph died. Nor do we read that Jesus would take the throne from Joseph. Joseph, though a descendant of David, was a carpenter, not a king. Also, it was Mary, not Joseph, who was told by the angel that God the Father would gve Jesus the throne of Hs father David:

NKJV Luk 1:30 Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God.
Luk 1:31 And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS.
Luk 1:32 He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.
Luk 1:33 And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end."

Here is the passage about the angel speakng to Joseph:

NKJV Mat 1:19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.
Mat 1:20 But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, "Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit.
Mat 1:21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins."

So Joseph was not told by the angel that Jesus would take David's throne.

Frederickdoc’s instinct is reverent, but his explanation mixes true biblical categories with imaginative speculation.
Scripture is clear that Jesus is David’s Son legally through Joseph (Matt 1:1–16) and David’s Lord ontologically (Matt 22:41–45); Joseph’s legal fatherhood establishes Jesus’ right to the throne, but Joseph’s lifespan, feelings, or expectations are never part of the biblical argument.
David indeed knew his future Son was greater than himself (Ps 110:1), and the angel did tell Joseph that Jesus would “sit on the throne of David” (Luke 1:32–33), but Scripture never says Joseph expected a shortened life, nor that he understood the entire messianic program.
The Holy Spirit does illuminate Scripture, but He does so by revealing what is written, not by supplying extra‑canonical details.
The “bigger picture” is already given in the text: Jesus is the rightful Davidic King by legal descent, the divine Son by nature, and the glorified Son of Man by resurrection. Common sense is not revelation; the Word interprets the Word.

Thanks, I agree with your post, except for this part: "and the angel did tell Joseph that Jesus would “sit on the throne of David” (Luke 1:32–33)" That was Gabriel speaking to Mary, not Joseph. But thanks again anyway.

Joseph was told the same truth, though in a different form: in Matthew 1:20–21 the angel tells him that the child is conceived by the Holy Spirit and will “save His people from their sins,” which is the Davidic‑Messianic mission promised in Luke. Matthew then immediately cites Isaiah 7:14 and identifies Jesus as Immanuel, meaning Joseph is being told that the child is both David’s rightful heir and God‑with‑us. So Joseph did not receive Mary’s full throne‑and‑kingdom prophecy verbatim, but he absolutely received the same revelation in substance. I apologize for blurring that fact.

No apology necessary assure you. Yes, I agree that in quoting Isaiah 7:14 Matthew was pointing to David too, as verse 13 mentions the house of David. Thanks.

I don't know what you're talking about imagine ? but if you're talking about Records they kept Joseph, knew who He was . The Lord God chose JJoseph and if people their own history and if you study this that this event could have happened to keep God's word Solid! So I don't know about speculation or imagination I do know the Holy Spirit are you talking about htim or me? It don't matter what you think but keep it until you seek yourself or get the knowledge of on hands on from the Holy Spirit I'm stating this for the sake of his Glory if you don't find it that way we'll rejoice anyway but the rest of it is okay

Frederickdoc, thank you for the sincerity, but you’re still doing exactly what I cautioned against: you’re treating extra‑canonical imagination as if it were part of the biblical record.
Saying “they kept records” or “Joseph knew who He was” does not answer the point, because Scripture never gives us those records, never describes Joseph’s psychological state, never hints that he had special insight into the mechanics of the Davidic covenant, and never suggests the Holy Spirit reveals new historical details outside the text.
The Spirit illumines what is written, not what we infer, reconstruct, or feel (1 Cor 2:12–13).
When you say “seek yourself or get the knowledge on hands on from the Holy Spirit,” you’re collapsing illumination into revelation — the very thing the apostles forbid — because illumination helps us grasp the meaning God already spoke, not supply missing pieces of the narrative.
The biblical picture is already complete: Jesus is David’s Son legally through Joseph, David’s Lord by nature, and the enthroned Son of Man by resurrection. Everything beyond that — Joseph’s lifespan, secret records, private awareness, special insight — is speculation, not Scripture. The Word interprets the Word; Psalm 110, Matthew 1, and Luke 1 give the whole picture God intended us to have.

The most Giving of Al.l!
you can hardly read plain in Scripture Let's Look At Joseph Mary husband.listen to the Angel speak .
because the angel told Joseph that Jesus would take the eternal Throne of David.

Now knowing Him by The Holy Spirit its very ez to see Joseph wisdom knowledge and understanding Holding Nothing of Himself from God! To understand this we need some, ot understanding and NT One is the two blood lines and know that legally Joseph was Jesus father.thats the twist Only God could do By law ! Story short Joseph knew he was not to see jesus fullfill All cus The seat Joseph held Needed to be vacated of himself ,life shorten .Joseph knew that and Thats why is was spoken.
Just showing what giving of All you have Joseph
To me this is one of the greatest of Glory I've seen a man do for God .

Frederickdoc, I appreciate your zeal and your desire to honor Joseph, but you’re still doing exactly what Scripture never does: you’re inserting extra‑canonical narrative details and treating them as if they were part of God’s revelation.
Nothing in Matthew’s annunciation or Luke’s annunciation says Joseph believed his life would be shortened, that he needed to “vacate the seat,” or that he had special Spirit‑given insight into the mechanics of the Davidic throne.
The angel tells him two things: the child is conceived by the Holy Spirit, and He will save His people from their sins.
That is the entire revealed content.
When you say “Joseph knew he was not to see Jesus fulfill all” or “the seat Joseph held needed to be vacated,” you’re not quoting Scripture — you’re supplying details Scripture never gives, and then attributing them to the Holy Spirit.
That’s the problem.
The Spirit illumines what is written, not what we imagine might have been true.

I I stillknow the point you actually referred to as speculation just know they had records of next in line. If you see it all in the spirit you see the power of God in this and the rest of the word that he Fulfilled! If you can't figure it out just figure out why the angel said that!

In a man's way of thinking he was having his inheritance ripped away and Given to Another ,even though it was an honor and there was no King seated. Joseph chose to honor the word of the angel which was the word of God

there was no records to the throne of David then everything Jesus did and God did was untrue. We're talking about Joseph as a next in line and his son Jesus was to have this position there's only one way it could happen if the records are not there then everything I'm telling you is false if the records are there everything is true

you’re making the entire doctrine of Christ’s Davidic legitimacy depend on historical records Joseph supposedly possessed, but Scripture never makes that move; Matthew grounds Jesus’ legal claim in the genealogy God chose to preserve, not in Joseph’s personal archive, and Luke grounds it in the angel’s announcement, not in Joseph’s research. When you say “if the records aren’t there then everything Jesus did is untrue,” you’re reversing the biblical logic: the truth of God’s act establishes the legitimacy of the line, not Joseph’s ability to verify it. The Davidic line existed because God preserved it, not because Joseph studied it, and the NT never suggests Joseph had special insight into succession mechanics, throne vacancy, or his own lifespan. You’re treating your inference — “Joseph must have known his life would be shortened so the seat could be vacated” — as if it were revelation, but the text never says it, hints it, or leans toward it. The Spirit illumines what is written, not what we imagine must have been true to make the story work. The canonical picture is already complete: Jesus is David’s Son legally through Joseph, David’s Lord by nature, and the enthroned Son of Man by resurrection. Everything beyond that — Joseph’s records, Joseph’s expectations, Joseph’s supposed awareness — is speculation, not Scripture.

Frederickdoc, you’re still treating your intuition about Joseph as if it were part of the biblical record, and that’s the entire issue: Scripture never says Joseph had throne‑records in his possession, never says he interpreted the angel’s words as “my inheritance is being taken,” never says he expected a shortened life, and never says he understood any succession mechanics.

Just understand why the Angel spoke Theses Words! that's all you got to do ! Anyway it's not written much about for a reason. you have the bloodline records so I don't know what you're talking about they are written ! Because I say Joseph knew who he was I also say I know who I am . You you take anything away from Joseph you're you're calling everything of Jesus fatherless . it's in two of the Gospel mary & Joseph lines .Jiseph is of David and I'm not into no names you adding to me you want to add something to me say he's a man filled with the Holy Spirit and and I would have much honor and glory to God to say the same for others
