I am sure that if people want to make excuses, they will continue to do so whatever word is used to translate the Greek word "pistis" into English. Using a Hebrew word, "aman," is not translating "pistis" into English, but into Hebrew. No English speaker automatically knows what "aman" means; if they have learn ed Hebrew, they will, but otherwise they have to look it up to see what it means in English.Believe couldn't even being a scripture cuz believe I see that use a lot for lies it's not absolute like Trust absolute the vert old word to cover all trust absolute divine artist acknowledgment is Aman.
You have to go real far back there's no misspelling on Aman and that's the word for believe that should be in the Bible in many places. And that's all I'm going to say about .
Believe very weak and leaves many excuses avavailable.I see it all the time I hear it come out of people's mouth .
Scriptures like believe on the Lord Jesus people rest in that and they think they're saved . To Know should also be in place of believe .
To know Jesus
I agree that we need to know Jesus Christ. As John wrote to Christians:
NKJV 1Jn 2:1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
1Jn 2:2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.
1Jn 2:3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
1Jn 2:4 He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
1Jn 2:5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him. By this we know that we are in Him.
1Jn 2:6 He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.
