Where does the Bible say that prophecy is only for the founding of the Church? Where does it say the purpose of prophecy is for people with no Bibles? Alot has been said but nothing proved by the Scripture.

Your observation on the temporary gift of prophecy as being only a foundation, is unfounded and is based on what you have been taught or is a personal opinion. The notion that this gift and the office of prophet only applied, due to a lack of new testament or the bible (OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT) is in great error.

We are built on the foundation of the prophets and Apostles, you don't remove the foundation and expect a fully functional church as was told us in Eph.4:11,12
Do you consider yourself a prophet prophecy man?

No?

Do you get NEW revelation that you can add to the holy bible?

ANYONE claiming to receive direct revelation (prophecy) from God today is a LIAR.
and they KNOW they are lying.

post away your prophecies prophecyman.
let's see them.
You say this because you are convinced that this operation of the gift of prophecy is past, or the office of prophet is no longer apart of the work of the ministry.

Revelation 19:10 last clause...For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. The revelation of Jesus is the words that he heard from the Father...John 7:16 Jesus answered them, and said, my doctrine (teaching) is not mine, but his that sent me.

You have Moses and the prophets, and the Apostles, and the Lord Jesus... hear them. Anyone that does not hear the words of that prophet (JESUS) shall be cut off from his people.

Hear O' Israel, the Lord our God is ONE, and to those truly born again knows that Jerusalem is the mother of us all, that we through the faith of Jesus are built into a spiritual house unto the Lord, marvel not that you must be born of the water and Spirit as said the Lord through his word.

I do not claim to be a prophet, but if I was, I would never declare it to anyone here on CC, the Lord himself will make known the prophet, for a true prophet needs no introduction from man, but if the spirit of Jesus who is the spirit of truth and the word of God, speaks through a man/woman, then it must be examined in light of the word of God, test the spirits whether they be of God. But to say that God no longer speaks through his people, is for the most part putting a limit on the Almighty and is indeed contrary to sound doctrine. He Jesus, gave the five fold ministry for the perfection of the saints and for the work of the ministry.

is the foundation already laid or not?
Non sequitur.

In any event, you can't argue that something isn't the Biblical gift of prophecy when the Bible says someone who is specifically called a prophet is doing exactly that.

This is a personal attack, not wise! I have not claimed anything, and to add to the scriptures of truth, I do fear God and will not knowingly mishandle the word of living truth.

The revelation of Jesus is an intimate relationship with the Lord, his sheep hear his voice, they are known of him, and they of the household of faith do know him.

I worship the ONE true God and savior Jesus the christ.

Zone,

I really can't relate this statement as being Biblical, when the scriptures themselves mention 2 specific witnesses that will be prophesying for about 3 1/2 years .

All this happening after Joel has been fulfilled, after the scriptures have been completed, and any other reason you can come up with as to why you think anyone claiming to receive direct revelation (prophecy) from God today is a liar and they know they are lying.

When something is fulfilled, that does not mean that it has to cease. The scriptures show that people continued to prophecy, see visions, and speak in tongues after Peter's declaration of a prophetic fulfillment in Joel. I just think you've over looked the terms of the prophecy, and that the terms of Joel's prophecy involve a continuance of the events that had happened at pentecost.

I believe you know these things and they are clear to you.

Since I believe you know these things, I honestly think your disagreement with the continuance of prophecy, tongues, revelation, or the like is not on an intellectual level...I think your disagreement with such things is on an emotional one: Someone lied to you, deceived you, hurt you, or even your own heart did such things to you concerning a word you thought came from the Lord.

Forgive my presumption, but it just seems like something happened to you, and that is the real reason why you feel so strongly against it, because you are a lot smarter than the intellectual explanations I've seen you presenting on this topic.

you've ridiculed and rejected, you'll continue to do so.
if the Holy Spirit isn't prompting you to find out yourself i can't help ya.

the Foundation was already laid 2000 years ago.

the only ones trying to remove it/overthrow it/lay a new one (can't be done) are the NAR/charismatics.

why are you doing it?

SOLA SCRIPTURA!

this is all you had to say:

You have Moses and the prophets, and the Apostles, and the Lord Jesus... hear them. Anyone that does not hear the words of that prophet (JESUS) shall be cut off from his people.

end of story.

Asking questions is a personal attack? Why so personal prophecy man? Not wise for you to make such a false claim.

The rest you said is good to know.

WOW that was accurate! Indeed she is bitter and has not forgiven those who thought they were used in the gifts, but indeed they spoke things that they ought not, they are presumtive and selfwilled, clouds they are without rain, having a form of godliness, but deny the power thereof, ever learning, but never coming to the knowledge of the truth.

She is a victim of those who say they are jews and are not. Feeling betrayed, she lashes out against all those whom she feels make unwarranted claims, she hates false prophets and so she fights them, but she has yet to learn to hear the still small voice by which the spirit of truth will speak. My prayer is that she will recover herself by the grace of God and have her eyes opened to the real and wonderful power of God through his Spirit... For its not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit. And so said the Lord through his prophet in the holy writings.

It's taught in the fact that it continued to happen after Joel's prophecy was "fulfilled", and that long after the Bible has been completed there are 2 people mentioned who will be prophesying for 3 1/2 years. That communicates continuance....not ceasing (at least up to the point of the 2 witnesses).

So you never once had a bad personal experience in the past with any of this at a time when you once believed it?
