Why do you want to get married?

Sometimes I'm not sure I want to, other times I definitely think it would be nice. The latter happens more often there. It would be nice to have someone to share life with completely. Grow together, support each other, have a lot of fun in the process with shared interests...like music. That's the big one. Of course the other joys of being married would be great too I'm sure.
I know it would also be hard work though...so definitely not all fun and games. I try not to have any unrealistic expectations there.
 
I can't believe nobody said, to have help with the chores. You might not have said it, but I know you thought it.... :p
 
Someday I will take for myself a wife.

She will be my crowning jewel and the apple of my eye.

I will cherish every minute I am blessed to spend with her .

I will honor her with my public praise and keep her secrets as my own.

She will never know the pain of betrayal or the sting of jealousy.

I will trust her with all of my heart as well as my very life.

I will diminish family friends and anyone in my life who would come before her.

She will never be taken for granted nor will she know neglect from me.

I will embrace her dreams and strive to fulfill them to the letter.

She will be my counsel when I am troubled and my helper when I am in need.

I will do my best in keeping us faithful for the sake of the Kingdom of our Lord.
 
I remember our wedding ceremony so vividly. -
Our Canon looked at me & asked; "Do you take this woman"?
"Would you"?, I responded;
"No, of course not", replied our Canon;
"Well", I asked - "Why are you trying to pass her off onto me"?!!!

(Oooooo! Thankfully we've known each other & loved each other for so, so long I can get away with this!).

Ok, you got me. I really want a wife so I don't have to detail my car, tune-up my mountain bike, recharge all of my rc helicopters and polish my drums and cymbals all the time. She would be such a relief!

When you get married, you should read this aloud to her :)
 
Well at the moment I don't want to get married. I'll stave that pleasure off until I get my career established enough so I can live in one location most of the year.

Why do I want to get married eventually? I think I simply want someone I can share things with. There are so many thoughts/ideas/feelings (yes, I do feel on occasion) that most people simply don't understand for whatever reason. If I ever find someone who operates on a similar or identical wavelength that shows interest in me, I will marry them.

And no, that isn't desperation on my part. Desperation is, in my case, the inverse of that statement. I don't know how people find boyfriends/girlfriends, fiances, husbands/wives, so early in life. Then again, most don't find their path in terms of work, so I suppose I can call it even when that front is taken into consideration barring some life-changing revelation.

There are other reasons, of course. Marriage is a sign of maturity. It starts a wonderful process of family building we are all called to do save the few called to be single. Sex also looks pretty keen within the context of marriage.
 
I wanna get married so i'll have someone to watch the history channel with. I want someone to watch mars attacks and the alien triliogy with me to. Aaaaaaaand i want someone to go with me to museums!!!!!

I've come to the conclusion that whoever i marry MUST like to read, and must like history. Im sure i wont be getting married anytime soon, so that will leave me plenty of time to come up with ways of manipulating my significant other into doing things i wanna do :D

Im thinking one way is to start crying hysterically screaming YYYOOOOOU JUSST DOOONT LOOOOOVE MEEEEE!! I dunno i'll have to practice that one.
 
I'll watch History Channel and Mars Attacks, and go to museums with you, Nod...but I'm out on Alien. Kim will have to step up there. :)
