I read an article earlier today written by Dr. Mohler who works with Focus on the Family. The article addresses the issues of manhood but I believe it relates to this topic. The argument of his thesis is that our society is targeting men with violence, anti-social behavior etc and that it has gotten to the point where main TV characters (like Sawyer in the popular series LOST) can commit atrocious crimes and even murder yet still be hailed by the audience as 'good' or 'heroic', and this behavior is believed by hollywood to represent young men in society and echo their attitude of "hey, I can do terrible things all day and still go home to my wife and children and be considered 'good'".

How does this relate to this thread? Well, I think that not only has this hollywood way of thinking affected how young men mature, I think it also effects how young women view young men, or what they want in a young man. I think many young Christian woman are beginning to equate 'excitement' with things like violence (rather than biblical gentleness). If this is true, what other things are considered 'dangerous' or 'exciting'? It's no wonder polls are showing about ~80% of Evangelical Christians between ages 18-25 have had premarital sex. One thing leads to another.

I'm not playing the blame game, after all, we all have free will and choose what we want to watch/listen to in the media. I'm not saying all violence is bad either, war is a common theme in the Bible and being a man definitely includes protecting your family and God given rights. Both genders need to test the errancy of their spouses thoroughly, albeit lovingly and gently (without the standard of perfection).

Being a man thats after God is great, it really is, but if you've got no personality beyond that. It's gonna be a task trying to attract the opposite sex.

Besides like beauty isnt being boring all in the eyes of the beholder.

You want women to find you interesting? Buy a motorcycle. Harley or Honda, it don't matter. Or join a rock band. Be a singer or play guitar or drums. Women love men who have a passionate side to them. Its not so much about excitement, but PASSION. And its got to be something a woman can find attractive, not bug collecting or playing video games. Its got to be something that will bring a smile to their faces when they share it with others. So they can say "my boyfriend plays the drums in a band" or "my boyfriend takes me for rides on his motorcycle" or "my boyfriend is a great chef", etc... Not, "my bf plays video games and eats cheetos all day" lol

Sounds like one of those Cold War tales in which some little group coaxes the US and the USSR into nuking each other so the tiny organized remnant can take control when the dust settles.

Models? No. Women with a sort of an aristocratic/classical beauty? Yes.
