When does your future husband become your present husband?

I am just a bit puzzled, people talk about their "future husband", or future wife. I'm just wondering, when do they become your present husband and wife, is it when you first meet them, when you are dating (or courting for you old fashioned people), engaged, or married? Do you then start to refer to them as your "present husband dear"? , or do you drop the tense (ie past, present or future) after marriage?
