I am glad that I joined this site because it has opened my eyes so that I may see what is going on in the world I live in. Until today I never new about polygamous people or family. I disagree with it. Mark 10:7-9 "For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder." The two shall become one flesh, not three. No man separate what God has put together. I believe in what the Bible says.
You shouldn't have to join a Christian chat site to learn what is going on in the world... There is this great tool called the internet, you should give it a try![]()
ugh???.. How did he join this site??... Isn't it through internet??..
Btw, to this thread, there are a lot of polygamous homes in Africa, even if the wives want it or not.. Sad..
I was watching an interview with another polygamous family, and the husband was saying something like "at first, I didn't want to pick up more wives, but God told me that I must. I didn't want to disobey God, so I married two other women." Then he goes on to say how he anticipates that God will want him to marry more women in the future.
I am actually okay with this. All members of the relationship are informed of what is going on and seem to agree to rules and boundaries which they follow. I would much rather have this than have people who have a marriage and then sleep around without their partner knowing.
Well fine, if anything I thought the comparison might be making the former seem worse than it was since it was even being put up against the latter. I don't find anything wrong with polygamous whether it be polyandry, polygyny, or group marriage. As long as all members are informed and consenting I have no problem with it.I don't see the benefit in comparing a bad thing to a worse one to make the first look good.
Just because I don't find anything wrong with people being in polygamous relationships doesn't mean I want to be in one.FrankensteinGirl and TheKrinkledOne... So really, you don't find anything wrong with polygamy? I guess that means that you wouldn't find it wrong if you got married, and your husband/wife went to go sleep with other men/women every single day too? Unless you like to join in on the sin with a 3-some?
It isn't adultery if they are all married and agree to the sex between them. I don't find anything wrong with it because all members are happy and informed. What exactly don't you find wrong with it? It's straight up adultery.
Depends on the person. I am not saying its right for everyone or that everyone should enter that kind of relationship. You don't think that won't cause emotional problems?
I find this rude to all of the people I know all of the people I know who have been in long term open relationships. You are going to tell me that these people don't care about each other? It is clear that they do. Just because they don't have the same emotional responses over certain issues as you does not mean that they don't care about their partner or partners. You DON'T know anyone that is COMPLETELY okay with "open" relationships, unless of course, they don't care about each other whatsoever. They definitely don't love each other in those relationships, beyond the love of sex, or they wouldn't do it, plain and simple.
Yes, some polygomous relationships are bad. However, so are a lot of monogamous relationships.Husbands can be abusive to a wife that they are sexually loyal to. People in monogamous relationships can still neglect their children in the same way. Some people get into monogamous relationship for money and security and the marriage can be horrible.I've seen that TV show where the guy has all those other wives. The fattest wife gets the least amount of attention, and she basically gets the least amount of money from the husband too. The husband DOESN'T take care of ANY of his kids. They barely talk to him. The kids actually hate their own father, because he's scum. The guy is a straight up dbag. Some of the wives simply married him for money and security, while others were just stupid apparently. Their kids will all grow up with severe behavioral problems, which are already apparent in the TV show, and the "old" wives, the ones that aren't getting any attention anymore after a new one joins the "family" all have emotional issues as well. You can't see the damage this causes?
Same goes for a monogamous relationship. You clearly aren't very perceptive then. Even if someone understands the consequences of the decision when they enter into the relationship, they have no idea what it actually does to them mentally and emotionally afterword.
It may be the case here, I haven't checked. However that doesn't mean it applies to all monogamous relationships. You can tell that all those women are screwed up in some way, the husband is a complete moron, and all of the kids are screwed up themselves. I am almost positive that some of their kids will grow up to be severely disturbed individuals.
How do you know that mine aren't?And people say they have no problem with it... yeah... because your parents aren't polygamists
