I don’t know a lot about Israel. Why can’t the Israelis and Palestinians live together under one democratic government?

Israel was promised the land forever by God:
2 Samuel 7:22: Wherefore thou art great, O LORD God: for [there is] none like thee, neither [is there any] God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
2 Samuel 7:23: And what one nation in the earth [is] like thy people, [even] like Israel, whom God went to redeem for a people to himself, and to make him a name, and to do for you great things and terrible, for thy land, before thy people, which thou redeemedst to thee from Egypt, [from] the nations and their gods?
2 Samuel 7:24: For thou hast confirmed to thyself thy people Israel [to be] a people unto thee for ever: and thou, LORD, art become their God.
2 Samuel 7:25: And now, O LORD God, the word that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant, and concerning his house, establish [it] for ever, and do as thou hast said.
2 Samuel 7:26: And let thy name be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts [is] the God over Israel: and let the house of thy servant David be established before thee.

Palestinians are Arab Muslims who started to come back into the Palestine area after the first wave of Jewish people starting coming back and causing the land to flourish back in the 1850′s.

The reason they cannot be ruled by one democracy is that the Muslim Arabs don't recognize a Jewish state to begin with. They feel that Israel took their land.

There going to never agree the only way that it would work is if they both convert to Christianity, besides that. Israel is Judaism, and Palestine are mostly Arab Muslims who are likely Islamic.

Do Muslims living in Israel have equal rights?

Like asking cats and dogs to get along :D

Israel was a by-product of Western meddling in the Middle-East after both world wars (first as a colony, and finally as a state), and Jerusalem should have been a tripartite city-state.

So what we've got is a theocracy (because Israel is considered a Jewish State founded specifically for Jews) candy-coated as a democracy, that has grown through illegal settlement-expansions.

Both sides are equally guilty.

... and out poor Christians brothers and sisters are caught in the middle of the gunfire, escaping from the Holy Land in numbers. It belongs to us too.

A real messy situation.

Could it be possible it is because Christians do not esteem Jews as a people and are known to steal from them. How can they possibly trust Christians with their background. It's so polluted in my opinion. Maybe I may sound to negative but history only tells the story.

I guess it would be kind of like if the Brtis came back to the US and said it was their counry,
God gave the land to the Isrealites, but it did originally "belong to" someone else. Now the extreeme ones don't want the Isrealites to be there at all, and the extreeme isrealites don'f want anyone else there. .... thus it never ends.

Let's remember, one of the chief mistakes of Israel, was looking for an Earthy fulfillment of Messiah. They missed Messiah because of this.

Think we may also make the same mistake when we look at the land promises.

How does the NT portray fulfillment of these?

Check this out.

In Hosea 11, Israel is called God's son.

11 “When Israel was a child, I loved him,
And out of Egypt I called My son.
2 As they called them,[a]
So they went from them;
They sacrificed to the Baals,
And burned incense to carved images.

Then in the NT, inspired by the Holy Spirit, this prophecy is fulfilled. And the Israel/son aspect is applied to Jesus.

Matthew 2

14 When he arose, he took the young Child and His mother by night and departed for Egypt, 15 and was there until the death of Herod, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying, “Out of Egypt I called My Son.

So it looks like the Holy Spirit inspired writer of Matthew is correlating the nation of Israel to being fulfilled in Jesus.

Because of this, some say Jesus IS Israel.

I'm still pondering this in my mind. It's an interesting take on it to me.

Anyways here is some more...

The Holy Spirit inspired writer of Hebrews said

12
22 But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, 23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn who are registered in heaven, to God the Judge of all, to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 to Jesus the Mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling that speaks better things than that of Abel.

So it sounds like the writer of Hebrews is spiritualizing the land promises. He seems to be saying to the Christians that they find those fulfilled right now. They've already come to them.

Further in Hebrews it seems to indicate that the things in the OT were shadows of a greater reality spiritually.

Hebrews 8

4 For if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are priests who offer the gifts according to the law; 5 who serve the copy and shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, “See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”[a] 6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, inasmuch as He is also Mediator of a better covenant, which was established on better promises.

Hebrews 10

10 For the law, having a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with these same sacrifices, which they offer continually year by year, make those who approach perfect. 2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? For the worshipers, once purified, would have had no more consciousness of sins. 3 But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year.

I'm still bouncing this theory around in my head. Namely that Jesus is Israel, and the land promises are fulfilled by us coming to the heavenly Jerusalem and such.

YOU SAID: I don’t know a lot about Israel. Why can’t the Israelis and Palestinians live together under one democratic government?

There is no oil or any other valuable resources in the land of Israel. What makes it valuable is the fact that the land is believed to be Holy, because God actually dwelt inside the Temple that was built in Jerusalem.

The Palestinians want their own State with Jerusalem as their capital. They believe that Muhammad and his horse mind you ascended into heaven from the very spot where the Jewish temple once stood, which is why they built the Dome of the Rock Masq on that very spot.

To orthodox Jews, there is no way they can properly exist as a people in Israel unless they are in control of Jerusalem. They dream of one day rebuilding their temple, and practicing animal sacrifices once again as they were commanded to do by God so long ago. They can't do this as long as the Dome of the Rock stands.

Anyone have any solutions?.........

That's one version. The authorized version.

Its just amazing that in a world of information and books and Libraries anyone would actually buy into this.
The suppression of Truth is astounding.

How is it we do not even understand the most basic historical facts?
Why do we love being lied to?

"As I stated at the top of this article, now, more than ever, the Jewish people and their state of Israel need our continuing support. With another Hitler now rising out of Iran who is trying to develop the nuclear weapons to be able to attack and annihilate Israel – our country, along with the UN and some of our Western allies, have got to stay on top of this building crisis."

Remember what the above verse from God the Father has told us – He will bless those who bless Israel and curse those who will try and curse her.

I rest my case for the Jewish people and their holy land of Israel."
