Mine is my name. Dot is short for Dorothy and Ann is my middle name. Thus Dotann... Although many do get it, but oddly enough, some pronounce it do tan instead? Not sure why but but doesn't matter, as i answer to almost anything.. 
I do see many though who have such terrific nicks. They have thought about it a lot more than me and put a lot of effort into it that influences who they are, or a particular situation, or enhances something they feel is special in their life. I really like this about them, as it says a lot about that person. Especially when it really suits them... This tells me they have a great sense of who they are.... While others still don't know yet...

Six children+homeschooling=psychotic momma.
Actually, some old friends from college and high school were visiting, and my children sat fascinated, listening to stories about mom when she was young (you know, just about the time God created dirt). I was 35 at the time, so Einstein was correct---it's all realtive.
But the kiddos came to the conclusion that 'poor mom used to be normal, and wasn't crazy till she had us.'
And dubbed me (in love and jest, I hope? lol) psychomom. It stuck, to the point I still get notes from my 27 yo to psychomomma.
But it must look like I don't know what to y'all out there.
And that's why I sign most posts with my name-

I have one kid, and he's a handful. I can imagine the hard work and sacrifice it took you to raise six children. I know that it takes a chunk out of one's life. I'm sure they appreciate what you've done for them. You women are special. I have one at home (my wife), and I never stop being amazed by her.
About what we thought? I always taught that a person who could call herself psychomom would be cool and confident, and surely you turned out to be just as I imagined.

gideon is part of my given name [gideon paul] and that 007 [double o - 7] is part of my email add...it was actually my instructor back then when i was still studying...for his ease of sorting the emails [emailed projects], on our block section he wanted us to create a new email ad that has 007 on the end..from then on that email ad was my official email ad... and that i always add 007on my given name on every social networking sites where you can put nickname....
