hmmm not really, but maybe? I mean with my ex-fiancee we talked about it a lot and then realized that our idea of child raising couldn't be more different. So if I could do it my way then sure... :)

I like kids. They usually like me too. I'm pretty good with them.
However, if I had to give you an answer one way or another right now it would be...No.

Why? I try to keep my relationship with God in the right place. Then if I get married and bring a wife into the mix I'm going to be putting a lot of effort into trying to make her the happiest woman on the planet. If she doesn't think "Wow. I have the greatest husband ever!" , I'd consider myself a failure on that one. Then there is music. Then there is the fact that I need some time to myself to recharge my batteries. So for me, having my own kids doesn't seem to fit in with what I feel like I need to be doing with my life.

Usually when this kind of thing comes up some will come in with the "Oh children are a blessing!" " I can't believe you don't want them!" "God commands us to have children!" "You're a filthy sinner for not wanting them!" .. yadda yadda etc. etc.

I just have one thing to say to that kind of person: Jesus didn't have children when He walked the Earth.

I know many people feel it's their specific calling to raise children. That's great. It's not for everyone though. There's a very small percentage of people, especially in the Christian community, who don't want children. It's an even smaller percentage that don't even want to get married. I don't think we have to worry about running out of people.

i definitely want children. i used to want a lot like maybe 5 or so...thats because mom had 5 children. but now im older, i dont know how she did it without going crazy..lol. still i love the innocence and honesty of children, they're soo funny..i like to play with them too. they're always creative and fun. im not totally unrealistic, i know they're a lot of work, but they are worth it!!

Yes, 2, Joseph and Esther, almost like there's been some planning involved ;)

I definitely want kids someday! but I think it's something people take much to lightly... Like assuming because you got married you will want to have a child soon.. not everyone is cut out to raise kids and I think one should be sure they are ready and actually want kids before they have some!

Yes. I think it's cool to be able to create another human being and have it become an adult with a small part of you in there somewhere.

Yep I would. And I if I had a girl, I would like to name her Arwen or atleast her middlename as Arwen; such a nerd hey? :o Her name would be Belle. Belle Arwen ____Blank______ LOL. And Brady is good for a boy name, but my husband can have a say in that lol. One thing is for sure, they will play outside and use their imaginations instead of glued to the TV and electronics. A house outside of the city would be nice for that. Girls think about these things too much :o

Yes. I would like to have my own and I would also want to adopt one maybe....Godwilling.

The thought of a little me running around is a scary proposition! The thought of a little future Mrs. running around is delightful. I guess the answer would be yes then.

No thanks. I have a daughter, 26, and a son, 22. I also have two grandchildren. None of which, I see at this point in my existence, but I am working on that as well.

Someone, in a previous post, said they were open to whatever number of children God wanted for them. It made me chuckle to read that. My sister who is just a little older than me, had 6, count 'em, 6 girls. They were a lot of fun when they were all at home. I used to stop by because it was so nonstop at their house. Loved the excitement, but couldn't handle all of that myself. It was great to go to see them and talk, play and laugh.

Yup, i want to have 5 kids nothing more or less. hahaha.

I don't want to have my own children, and there are several reasons for that. I have a brother who is ten years younger than I am, and I took care of him a lot when he was a baby. This probably took away a lot of the "I have to know what it feels like to take care for an infant" feeling. I really don't have a huge desire to change diapers and such, though I wouldn't especially mind it. I also like helping other peoples' children (online and in real life), and it's fine with me if I'm more of a foster mom than a biological mom. DNA doesn't matter to me in relationships. I might want to have actual foster children one day, but at the moment it's not an option with my schedule for several different reasons. Also, I'm fine with staying single as long as I'm in God's will, and I wouldn't want to have any children without them having a dad (foster children I'd be fine with as a single lady, since they're already there and need someone to love them). I like having a certain amount of time to myself, and children are tons of work if you take care of them properly (which, to me, would include either making sure that they understand the home-school material I teach them or private school. I'm not going to send mine to public school, Lord willing). Although these are plenty of reasons, I'm open to whatever the Lord has for me. Often He lets us feel certain ways to keep us from being too frustrated, or to see if we'll keep following Him when things get rough :). I suppose that the fact that I'm getting old enough that it may be tricky to find guy, fall in love, marry, have lots of time alone with each other, and then have our own child before running out of biological time to do so has something to do with it also. The notion of having children right away after marrying never did appeal to me. I'm really grateful that I feel this way, actually...I see an awful lot of women get bitter over not marrying or getting to have their own children. Yes, being single isn't the easiest thing in the world for most of us, but it isn't the hardest thing anyone has ever been asked to do, either. His yoke is easy, and His burden is light :).

lol what? only one boy gideon? i think you meant 1 dozen.

lol..dliz..that's a lot..we can't travel on that...just one..so i can bring him and her mom wherever...
it's my dream to travel around the globe together with them.[honestly]..lol..so 1 is just enough.. :D

Yes. I just have to wait till God gives my husband-to-be the right map to make his way into my life and into my heart ;) And if we can not have children of our own, i hope to adopt some children or to become fosterparent. Just love kids, especially when they try to irritate you :D

Koolkas are you from East Timor?

Hmmm.... Kids scare the heck out of me. However, I want to get married and I don't feel like the choice is or should be in my hand.

So... I don't exactly want to kids, but I think I need to get used to the idea of having them.
