What does it mean to abide, squirrelfriend?

Now rather than just mowing over the comfort of the scriptures which help strengthen a Child of Gods Faith. And continue presuming you know(which you surely dont) the walk of those who put their trust in the Lord to keep them, rather than their own works. Those who know better than to think fruit comes from their doing...besides the wood, hay, and stubble of coarse. You could do something less destructive and more effectual by the mechanics of Abiding...now that would be cool.

And, great a good night's sleep does a body good :)

I believe my God too, mari. 'Course, like jimdig, even the demons believe in God.

But, faith, ahhh, that's where 'believe' begins to hover, grow, move.... ;)

...where justification comes in :)

Justification to be in a right standing with God.

Maybe the biggest question here is: 'What kind of 'faith' are we talking about?Maybe you should explain it to us...mine is a fruit of the Spirit
and comes from the Spirit..and the author and finisher of my faith,

Or, what kind of faith is Paul talking about in Scripture.

What kind of faith is Jesus talking about?Spell it out for us..please!!

How many times does Jesus say 'grace' is key to salvation and how many times does He mention 'faith,'' like 'faith of a mustard seed,' and, 'O ye of little faith.' many times..he said with men its impossible..He said without Me you can do nothing, told Paul that His grace was sufficient..I could fill a page. Everytime Jesus said to pray..He was making a inference to seeking grace. Please dont push your point at the expence of Jesus teachings...the flesh is weak..the flesh profits nothing..what do you think He taught? self reliance and religious works?

Must we have more than a 'little faith' to 'fight' as Paul states.

Idk, the Lord leads me, I hope and pray, just trying to break throufh this seeming barrier of grace the OSAS think there automatically guaranteed to be saved with to the wall of faith which lies behind the grace and must be fought to climb over and the climb is with the Spirit urging you (not pushing you) on, providing ways for you to climb over from rock to rock, until at His appointed time you go over. 'Course, the Enemy, during this 'climb' keeps saying you can't make it, you don't even have to, look at all tat 'grace' back down at the bottom...
Who do you really know? Who do you think you are, trying to label people you dont know? Is this really a dialogue or a monologue? What are you trying to break through?Do you suppose that those who have put their trust fully in God for their salvation, are all the overt sinners, wife beater, kid abuser moron type that is being inferred on this thread?

True repentance comes from true faith. True repentance is a supernatural grace..given by God alone..a response to Him not something
we muster. Just as faith is also a gift..and not of our own. Do you want scriptures?

This is true belief that will have best chance of NEVER leaving Christ.BEST CHANCE? what does that mean?

BUT, for me to say, one will never leave Him is not for me to say, that is up to the person that has the Spirit in them, been with the Spirit doing work in their life and having seen seducers of evil and false teachings lead them from God's hand of 'suffering' good will and pleasure.

Grace, shmace.
That's a given.

But , faith, ahhh, faith, do you want to 'move a mountain,' squirrel :)

Who is the doer of our faith then?

My faith is simple, abiding: I have faith in God's leading my life through His Holy Spirit given unto after Jesus' ascension.

________
Abiding:And continue presuming you know(which you surely dont) the walk of those who put their trust in the Lord to keep them, rather than their own works.

Me:
I don't trust in works, I trust in Christ, His leading, this faith, squirrelfriend, NOT grace . Why do you say that those who have faith in Christ's Spirit leading them are doing their 'own works.' Like Jesus, we are merely 'doing the work (not 'works') of the One who was sent (us). :)

Question, Is his Spirit actually in us? do we have the friut evidence? are we coming under obedience to Christ? or is this just another thing we confess to make it so?

If the Spirit isnt in you...your not a believer.

fruit evidence? fruit is used in reference to kingdom work...its used in a sense of His divine nature manifesting in us.
its used in the sense of good works. Im not sure what idea you have in mind.

The last part: "are we coming under obedience to Christ? or is this just another thing we confess to make it so?"
Im taking that as meaning do we work or labor or fight in our sanctification?
1 Cor 3:9 For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
2 Cor 6:6 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
Rom 8:28 And we know that all things work togather for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Lip service does little more that pass the time.

Faith is what i was given to trust Gods word. To trust Him, would be to obey Him.
Grace is what gives me the enablement to do it.

Your trying to make faith the power itself...when grace is the power
Faith is the motivator to believe to trust..to take a chance, if something was promised.
Grace is the divine influence on my heart to do whatever He wants me to do.

Our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, sanctified, made holy, by His coming unto us, living in us, and, yes, as, reignisHis said, and, you, too, abidingsquirrel, 'fruit' (of the Spirit) is produced.'

)()()()()()()()sorry, squirrelfriend, if I don't answer all your questions but you know what comes next the Lord leads ;)

So, yes, God is not the author of confusion , He is the author and perfector of our faith.

But, let me reword the 'who is the doer of our faith then? '

Who gets corrected in their faith , so as to be ye perfect as He is perfect?
Ahh, yes, reign... our faith 'working,' in action, is, indeed, our being obedient to His leading.

Fruit is produced by the Spirit...we cant produce it. Thats why its called the fruit "of the Spirit"
all we can do is be obedient...die to self...and abide in Him..and have His words abide in us.
Ill add resist sin, mortify the flesh, study, pray, renew the mind.....etc etc...alot of duty on our part. But He produces the fruit.
Then He produces the fruit and it hangs on us for people to partake from. Jesus used a reference
to fruit that remains..much of it. My thinking on that is our legacy, in otherwards after we die
will there be any good effect from our lives that lives on for the Glory of God or His kingdom.

Who gets corrected in their faith? i dont understand that one.

i get corrected in my faith i know what that means.. My faith has been corrected many times.. I'll start putting my faith in the wrong thing and I get corrected quick. If I don't get the message I get corrected hard.. if I still don't listen I get what i was leaning on that wasn't Christ yank and I fall on my rear.

i used to look at other people that got away with so much and think he was unfair to me... But, now that i am getting older I see the beauty of what he does. He is faithfully teaching the only thing we can't live with out Is our beloved:) Jesus. what great Joy he gives us.

I do believe the Lord keeps all his promises, but, I believe we receive the ones we fulfill the requirements for. I also think we can count on the hard promises to if we fulfill the requirements to receive those.

I still believe after hearing all the arguments.. every day is the day for Salvation.. Just as the sun has stayed where God has put it, so must we stay till we see Christ.. A lot of people call it doubt or false belief. But, i call it faithfulness and thank the Holy Spirit for it.

I do fear him too. i'm surprised other people don't. I see myself and other people fear when their heart starts beating crazy, A loved one becomes ill or when a lump is found somewhere it shouldn't be. So then We make extra efforts taking care of our selves trying to make up for our negligence in the stewardship of our body.. Why would we fear the result of neglecting our health and not fear neglecting the giver and taker of not only this life, but also eternal life

Pro 9:10 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

It would be wise to fear Him that can destroy both body and soul.

This "fear" is the BEGINNING of wisdom. Such are only babes in Christ, in where there is strife and division as carnal men.

Believe in the Son of God and do everything he says. repent and keep repenting, ask for forgiveness, forgive people, love, and keep doing it ect. renew your mind in the Word. cling to him and abide in him, wait for him He alone is able to save.

Do you understand the nature of God's promises? God's promises are all yea and amen, that means they are sure and steadfast because God is faithful to what He has promised and what comes from Him by promise can not be altered (1Kgs 8:56). We have the promise of salvation unto those who believe upon the Son. The promise requires faith in the Son and salvation is given by grace through the gift of righteousness and eternal life with the promise of the Holy Spirit to indwell the believer. These are given by promise to the sinner who believes without any works on their part other than to believe upon the Son and God does the rest through His divine imputations that are put on the believer's account.

When we are born again of the word and Spirit God begins a work in us and will perform that work until the day of redemption, when we receive our new glorified bodies and put on immortality. This is given by promise and it will be as God has said, it can not be altered. The believer is born anew, becoming a new creature in Christ instantly when believing and putting trust in the Son for the cleansing and forgiveness of sins. The believer at that point is hid and placed positionally with Christ in God and can not be removed from that position by his own actions or the actions of others because it took the action of God to place him there. God has promised to never leave or forsake the believer as he continually performs that work begun in the believer's life. The believer has been purchased by the blood of Christ and is no longer his own, he is God's possession and has been adopted into God's family and is part of the household of God and is built up as a habitation of God through the Spirit with other believers.

The believer is crucified with Christ and has been raised with Him and seated together with Him in heavenly places and that is his present position in Christ while he lives bodily on the earth being called out of the world and set apart through sanctification of the Spirit. This is all included in God's great salvation who has saved the believer to the uttermost by grace through faith and nothing will be able to separate the believer from the love of God that has been commended to him through His Son. The believer is completely justified and made righteous by faith, by grace and by the blood of Christ and is accepted in the beloved without doing a single righteous act except to believe. Everything he is and will become in Christ experientially is going to be revealed by the plan of God and granted to him by grace. If he sins (God forbid) he falls into the grace of God in which he stands and because he belongs to God and has Christ as his advocate, God is able to make him stand.

This salvation is absolutely sure, it is immutable, steadfast, it's eternal and secured for the believer by the blood of Christ that put away all his sins and crucified his sin nature through the cross and can only be appropriated and received by grace through faith. The Holy Spirit seals the believer with God's salvation with no wavering or hesitation the moment he believes and puts his trust in the name and gospel and finished work of Jesus Christ. This is the promise and nature of God the Father who cannot lie and what is not possible with man, with God all things are possible, onlt believe (Mk 10:27, 9:23).
