I Believe in Trinity of the Godhead is one:
The most straightforward verse that states that plainly is
> 1John 5:7 which says, "For there are three that bear witness in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the
Holy Spirit; and these three are one."
> Then in John 1:1 and 1:14 it shows that the "Word" is referring to Christ Jesus
the Son, the 2nd Person of the Godhead."In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God" (John 1.1) and verse14, the same "Word (which is clearly
referring to Jesus as God incarnated as man) became flesh and dwell among us"
>Verses showing that the Father and the Son are one:
John 14:9 says, "He who has seen Me has seen the Father" meaning that they are one. For this
reason, John 1:18 tells us, "The onlybegotten Son, Who is in the bosom of the Father,
He has declared Him."
> John 10:30 also states plainly, "I (Christ Jesus the Son) and My Father are one." Now, commonly people will explain it away by saying Jesus is simply saying that He and His Father
are one in purpose, But the verse doesn't have the word "purpose" in there does it? Also, from the context of this verse, it is clear that Jesus is saying that He andthe Father God are in fact one Being/Person. Let's examine the 2 previous: verses 28 and 29. In verse 28 says,
"... neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand" while verse 29 says, "no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand." Why did he use Himself
and the Father interchangeably in these 2 verses? It is because they are one and the same God! Then he explains that in the following verse, verse 30, that He and His Father are one. Therefore, it is clear that He is not saying that they are one in purpose, but the same Being... that's why His protective hand is the same as the protective hand of the Father.
> Isaiah 9:6 also tells us that one of the names of the Son is "the Everlasting Father". Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father.
> Also, John 14:10-11 shows the oneness of the Father and the Son.
> John 14.9-11ff: Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet you do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father; how can you say, 'Show
us the Father'? Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father in me? The words that I say
to you I do not speak on my own authority; but the Father who dwells in me does his works. Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father in me..."
> Verses showing that the Son and the Spirit are one:
> John 14:16-18 tells us first "And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper/Comforter, that He may abide with you forever— the Spirit of
truth...." So, here the Lord Jesus is telling His disciples that He was going to send the
Spirit to them. But then in the following verses He says,"but you know Him (the Spirit), for He
dwells with you and will be in you." Who is the One who has been dwelling "with" them? The Lord
Jesus, the Son. But who is the One that will be coming to dwell "in" them? The Spirit. So, the clause "He dwells with you and will be in you" identifies the two as being one and the same Person, because He is
saying that the One Who has been dwelling with them is the One Who will be in them!
And then again in verse 18 Jesus said, "I am coming to you." Though it is the Spirit that He
said will be sent and coming to them, yet in this verse the Lord Jesus said He is the One coming to them. This shows once again that the Spirit/the Helper/Comforter is used interchangeably with the Lord Jesus Himself because they are one!
Then of course 2 Corinthians 3:17 tells us plainly that
> "Now the Lord is the Spirit".
Then briefly, John 15:26 and Matt. 10:20 show that the
> Father and the Spirit are one.
