Yes, the child is a gift from God. But the fornication was wrong! When this happens, the child does not say, "Oh, I am going to be born because
someone raped my mother and make life difficult for her.'' That simply would not happen, when people start thinking of children as beings that cost a lot
of money to take care of, then that can only lead downhill to saying, "Well the elderly people in nursing homes are not doing any work for the United
States, therefore their lives should be terminated.'' Should the woman have a choice to abort the child? No (especially if she is a Christian) because it is
murder, when fetuses are killed, blood is shed, that is what the Bible calls murder. Maybe I do understand how women think and feel in this situation, but
abortion should never be an option. The first option that should be discussed before doing something that they will regret, is adoption, foster care, etc.
Then mention all the facts (both those that the popular culture espouses and what they do not) about abortion. That would help. Then they can decide
and hopefully make the right God-honoring choice.
P.S. Sadly, many of the ''liberal'' media take the words of someone they are against out of context and out of order. That is why I look at the sources that are not part of this form of the media and read WORLD magazine to get a balanced view on these issues and the pros and cons of both sides through a Christian worldview and independent thinking.
The definition of bloodshed he is using is that of the taking of life, as far as I can tell.Blood is also shed when she has a period....
No, it is not unjustified killing.and it prevents that particular egg from ever becoming a child- is that not murder as well?
No it is not, because although the plant cells are killed, it is not unjustified killing. We trim our lawns, living cells- yet that is not considered murder.
God has said we can eat meat and plants. We eat meat. We eat plants. Yet not murder..... why?
What if the woman is not Christian say a Hindu or Muslim must they meet the Christian standard, why? How about if she is an atheist?
btw jimmydiggs I am very offended at that cartoon drawing
the cartoon graphic tells us nothing about Genesis and when a fetus is a human being. You obviously have not thought for two seconds about that verse and what it means. Frankly I am fed up with males telling women what they can and cannot do with their bodies. The doctor patient relationship should be protected from the government at all costs
The standards of christians should never be their own. That wouldn't be high enough. God has expectations of all of us, whether we are christians or not.
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death
Since Jesus had to die for me, I don't like to talk about what is fair. I was deserving of death. Everything I am now or have now is blessing and mercy.
This is true, however why don't you hold yourselves to Allah's standards? After all, his standards are the highest for Muslims. It's all a perspective. You believe you're right, or else you wouldn't believe that. However, not everyone believes the EXACT same as you.
Which is better? Blue or Green? Vanilla or Chocolate? English or Spanish? You have your own opinions on these matters, however not everyone will agree with you because of what God has told them. Hence why we have different denominations even within our own religion. Which one is right? They can't ALL be right. God' word is interpreted in each denomination a different way, yet we claim "oh, it's ok bc they're all Christians". They can't be right and interpret the Bible and say "You're not allowed to interpret the Bible your way." Hypocrisy.
Still it seems that Christians are applying their own standards to people of any and all faiths. How is that a fair thing?
