Why would a saved person need a gun... well cuz some of us enjoy and prefer GOD's created foods and such can be more effeciently obtained with a gun than a slingshot or a spear or a sword. Some of us recognize that the Devil prowls around like a lion (stalks us and others)... some of us have brains to recognize that NOWHERE in scripture does it suggest we are proctected by mystical bublle wrap and impervious to harm. Some of us recognize that it is a Christian DUTY for protect and aid those who are innocent, weaker or in peril... a gun can be useful for that.
A Christian with a gun... aint afraid of nothing... hopes to never need to employ the gun... and trusts God to make their aim true if they do.
1Sam 17:45 David said to the Philistine, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied. 46 This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. Do you notice David is FIGHTING with a WEAPON???
Psalm 3 is by David... who along with his companions carried weapons at all times. The Psalm is about having confidence in God for supplying the victory to David. Davis never stood in a field alone surrounded by 10,000.. it is imagery... to enphasize he is not afraid of men he puts his trust in GOD. His trust did not cause him to go weaponless... had guns been available... no doubt he would have had a REALLY GOOD ONE. To smite on the cheek... is to say the enemies will "feel/recognize" their insult returned. Breaking the teeth.... is about defeating the enemy curses and violent pledges against David.
iog... you have defective theology and many many people have pointed this out to you... as a result... you are actually causing derision for yourself. This discussion is really just you... What I have presented in this thread is the total destruction of a christian carrying a weapon for protection I stead of trusting in God!

Back in 2009 my house got broken into by 3 men. 1 with a crowbar, 1 with knife and the other with a sawn-off shot gun. I was in my room and I could hear gunshots going off and my family screaming. I felt so helpless so i just sat there and prayed to god begging for his help, Promising I would never take my family for granted again. then everything went quite. I hear the door open behind me and it was at that moment I knew this was the end and lost all faith. Then my mom says, "are you alright?" and i got up and saw her holding my dads semi auto pistol. I gave her the biggest hug I have ever given her. God really was there listening to me. But in conclusion this would have been a disaster we didn't own a gun. It's sad but true.

Did you read that last part?
Should read the whole scripture to understand that war means both sides engage.
Just that one side isnt fighting to kill, but fighting against oppression of Christians who keep Gods commandments.
To everything there is a season, including war, but we dont bring it on, we just finish it

It would be good for you to learn to overcome those so that you no longer project your own issues upon others. Theres this term called Transferrence.
Many people do this and arent able to recognize it within themselves.

Making attempts to transfer any issues of their own to others in an effort to take the focus off of themselves.

Most of America used to have the schools based in a Church
We used to have prayer in our schools until the more non-Christians and atheists dilluted the population until somebody complained about that.
And since this is a free country and acting upon the premise to not Oppress anybody we as Christians conceded to not force religion upon anybody in the name of living in peace.

Ive confronted a person with a gun more than once, when I had no gun so a weapon other than Christs sword is not always necessary.
Althought theres different circumstances and there is a huge difference between one attacker and a Govt army wishing to enslave you into the realm of punishment of Gods wrath for cooperating with satans plans.
You ever heard about those kinds of people who if walking down the street they see someone getting attacked because
they dont wanna get involved or
the attacker will get his in the end by God
or they just wanna live in peace so they keep walkin and dont do nuthin.

A Christian is not called to be weak but strong in the Lord
The Bible couldn’t be clearer on the right – even the duty – we have as believers to self-defense.
We can start in the Old Testament.
“If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him,” we are told in Exodus 22:2.
The next verse says, “If the sun be risen upon him, there shall be blood shed for him; for he should make full restitution; if he have nothing, then he shall be sold for his theft.”
In other words, it was perfectly OK to kill a thief breaking into your house. That’s the ultimate expression of self-defense. It didn't matter whether the thief is threatening your life or not. You were justified to protect your home, your family and your property.
The Israelites were expected to have their own personal weapons. Every man would be summoned to arms when the nation confronted an enemy. They didn’t send in the Marines.
God's people defended themselves.
In 1 Samuel 25:13, we read: “And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword. And they girded on every man his sword; and David also girded on his sword: and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the stuff.”
Every man had a sword and every man picked it up when it was required.
Judges 5:8 reminds us of what happens to a foolish nation that chooses to disarm: “They chose new gods; then was war in the gates: was there a shield or spear seen among forty thousand in Israel?”
The answer to the rhetorical question is clear: No. The people had rebelled against God and put away their weapons of self-defense.
And Iog.... you're correct that Christs words are like a two edged sword
