Can I remain a theif*
This is the covenant I wil make with them after that time declares the Lord
I will put my laws in their hearts and write them on their minds(Thou shalt not steal)

Then he adds
Their sins and lawless deeds I will remeber no more
Heb 10:16&17

You wouldn't want to, therefore in sincerity of heart you wouldn't need to ask that question

The law is not our master....it's our guide to holiness...through faith we establish the law and keep it...
...

This come from not understanding the Bible is one book...the old testament is not obsolete ...."I came not to destroy the law but to fulfill it..."

Righteousness is right living...the holy spirit gives us power to live to DJ t

Where is the law written for you?
On tablets of stone, or tablets of human hearts?

There is a law on my heart that says..."do not..."....what law is that?

If it's no longer needed why is it on my heart....I don't do it because it's written! On my heart...and when I keep this law....my lawless deeds of the past are forgotten!

The law God put there
In other words, he has softened your heart so that you want to obey.

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. [SUP]27 [/SUP]And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.

Well in one sense:

Nor did he enter heaven to offer himself again and again, the way the high priest enters the Most Holy Place every year with blood that is not his own. [SUP]26 [/SUP]Then Christ would have had to suffer many times since the creation of the world. But now he has appeared once for all at the end of the ages to do away with sin by the sacrifice of himself

The law is there, but it is on your heart

I'm gettin' close to losing my temper, which is a sign to sign off! :)

But your understanding of the entire book of Romans is off.

I notice you don't respond to any of the other verses I posted...
y'know, the ones where Paul says we DIED to the Law to serve Christ?

not having a righteousness of my own(self righteousness) that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God and is by faith.

I cannot say. "I can steal now because im in Christ"....as I obey his commands his law...I submit then I am in Christ....through his spirit...I have the power to obey what I could not without him.
