believe there is only 1 true God, that's what I hold to tooth and nail. However, I believe that God has 3 personages. When I state that I don't believe they are human persons, but persons refer to distinct aspects to who they are. They all have their own 'job descriptions' so to speak. To clarify that, I don't believe that God the father died on the cross, but the son and not the spirit as well.

The point is, Christ said ONLY ONE OF THOSE PERSONAGES was the ONE TRUE GOD(The Father)

But the following verses state,

Now, Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. John 17:5

Jesus says himself he had (already had, already possessed, did not receive) the same glory with the father. They had the exact same glory!

YES, Christ had glory with the Father before the world began
If you want to extrapolate beyond that be my guest, but i know nothing of pre the biblical begining, so I do not discuss it.

Your theological extrapolations mean nothing to me, here is plain scripture

You just told someone you didn't want scripture, but a simple response. Yet, here you say you only want the plain scripture. Well, what is it??? The reason why I asked questions based on the scripture is because you have to be able have the proper understanding of those scriptures. Can you please point out my theological extrapolations? You have not even begun to respond to my questions and I have taken time to respond to yours. I don't believe Christ is God based on Mark 2 alone. What about the verses like

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

I have gone over this verse previously in this thread, I CAN'T be expected to keep repeating myself, but if you go through the posts you will find it

Jesus said to them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was born, I AM. John 8:58

Yes, Christ existed before Abraham was born

I and the Father are one." 31 The Jews took up stones again to stone Him. 32 Jesus answered them, "I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?" 33 The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God. John 10:30-33

I and the Father are one. I have given explanation to this three times now in this thread

One verse

That they(the believers) may be one AS we are one(John17:22)

For in Him all the fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form. Col 2:9

I have constantly said I affirm that is the truth

But of the Son He says, "Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the righteous scepter is the scepter of His kingdom. Hebrews 1:8

Quote the next verse too

Therefore GOD, YOUR GOD...............................

You say you want simple scripture, but you will not accept simple exchange on this topic. I ask you questions that you automatically dismiss and say I have extrapolations, but when asked questions you say all you want is simple scripture. You have a blatant double standard that has been pointed out, not only by myself, but others as well. The scriptures command us to properly handle the words of truth (2 Timothy 2:15) and also to follow the inspired words of the apostle Peter which states,

Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless, and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction. but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen. 2 Peter 3:14-18

Condemnation is not mine, but the Lord's. I ask again, please, give me an understanding of all the verses I have stated. Its a simple easy request that you yourself have asked for. And might I point out

I, even I, am the LORD, And there is no savior besides Me. Isaiah 43:11

yES
Yet I have been the LORD your God Since the land of Egypt; And you were not to know any god except Me, For there is no savior besides Me.

How is Jesus savior at all???

God saves us through His Son who is our Saviour

I am sorry if you feel i have not spent enough time in detailed replies to you, but it is not possible(for me anyway) to have about five converstations going on at once and to respond to everybody thoroughly.
If you want to continue this let me know, but it is my turn to put questions to you next. That is fair debate isn't it?
You will see above I have also done what you asked, and responded to Psalm110:1 which incorporastes the other scriptures I gave you yesterday

BTW
I do not profess to be able to answer every question put to me, I haven't been to theological college, I haven't read up of scholars and theologians, i am not a minister and was not the smartest kid at school. However, neither have i ever met anybody else who can answer EVERY QUESTION placed before them on this subject. Nearly all at some time or another have ducked or evaded something, AND THAT INCLUDES MINISTERS. If you feel i have done this with you, I can only apologise

The trinity is shown over and over in scripture. Lets look at the beginning. He said let US make man in our own image. First of all who is US. Now we have a mind a body and spirit. That's three in one.

Jesus ( the Son) prayed to the Father and was baptized in the Holy Spirit and did not began his ministry till He was baptized. So when the saw Jesus they saw the Godhead which is the Trinity.

Well actually I like that. But tell me, who was Christ before he was Baptised and the Holy Spirit descended on him, if only then did people see 'the Trinity?

Can I ask you? From what you have written, do you believe it is the Holy Spirit who makes the Trinity as one?
Is the Holy Spirit the common factor to Christ and the Father that unites them and makes them as such a Trinity?

Let's not forget that Jesus is only the Mighty God of the New Testament according to him.
BTW Cfultz
You know I have stated that Zone is on my ignore list because all she ever wanted to do was ask questions and never answer any, even though at times she said she would, it never actually happened. therefore, there is no point in you posting questions for her, and expecting me to reply to them, otherwise what is the point of putting a person on ignore and having that facility
All I will say about her question you put up is, it is obviously a question from a head theologist, that is plain acording to the question, from now on I will not comment on anything you put up of hers

John states the word was with God and the word was God and nothing was made with out the word. Jesus is the word of God. He also manifest Himself many times in the old testament. He is the part Of God who became flesh and dwelt among us. Emmanuel ( God with us)

OK
I just wondered if from what you wrote you believed it was the Holy Spirit who united Father and son as one, I am guessing you do not see it that way from your response, but thank you for responding anyway

The Father is the wisdom. The Son is the word ( that is to say knowledge). He says my people perish for the lack of knowledge. The Holy spirit is the power of God. It was the Holy Spirit that split the red sea. It was the Holy Spirit that performed all the miracles of Jesus time at his word. Directed by the Father.

We are "Human Beings". We are made of flesh and blood. God and the angels are NOT Human beings! Spirit Beings are not made of flesh and blood as are we.
God appeared as a Human Being - even in the OT.

I said God is a "Spirit Being"! Just as angels are "Spirit Beings"!
Then according to that logic, the angels should be God, of which, they are not.

There are ONLY (2) beings.....those made of flesh and blood; animals and us humans. And then there are "Spirit Beings"; God and the angels!

Did you not know that God and the angels are "Spirit Beings"

.

Show me a verse which states that The Father is The Spirit.

Good luck...

I agree it was the Holy Spirit in whos power the miracles of Christ were performed, and i believe our knowledge/truth/conviction of truth comes from the Spirit within us, the Spirit of truth

Readers,

I would like to take this time to apologize for the way I was replying to Mark at the end of our conversation. I allowed my joy to be stolen for a while. Again, I apologize for my angry replies.

God appeared to Abraham before he destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. He also walked with Adam in the garden. It is said of Enoch that he walked with God and He took him. When Joshua went to attack Jericho he saw man with sword drawn and asked him who he was He said I am the captian of the army of the Lord of host. Who did Moses see in the burning bush

Rev.3
[1] And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.

Rev.5
[6] And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of God sent forth into all the earth.

Seems like some party.....so there are SEVEN Spirits of God? So there is God the Father, God the Son and the SEVEN Holy Ghost/Spirits of God?

Does not sound like a "Trinity"!

.

The Book of Revelation is full of Trinitarian examples.

You, however, skipped right on over the very first mentioning of the Seven Spirits, which occurs in chapter 1....showing distinction between the Father and the Son...and yet deity at the same time.

Study up...!

I don't really want to get into another lengthy discussion with another person at this time, so I will just quote what Steven said if that is OK with you and leave it at that

He(Moses) was sent to be their ruler and deliverer by God Himself, through the angel who appeared to him in the bush
Acts7:35

Well I'm getting ready to go to church. All this discussion doesn't result to a hill of beans. the fact is that Jesus died on the cross and was risen on the third day that I and everyone might be saved from hell fire. Praise God for that. amen

1) CAN'T AGRERE WITH YOU. I ain't read up of theologians and scholars. Don't know nought about the prib trib rapture, or the noahide laws, haven't delved into OSAS or much else, I definately have not spent much of my time cramming my head with information that would give me a head crammed full of theology
2) Definately holding on tightly to the plain words of scirpture, yes
3) Definately not, if you knew what that background was
4) That gave me a wry smile
5)LOL. tHESE DISCUSSIOS ONLY GO ON, because people like you want to discuss this topic with me, please don't blame me for that.
6) don't know what it menas, I am not that well educated and my dictionary is not by my side at the moment
7) Happy to admit that is probabaly true, which is why I am grateful my wife says she loves me for my personality;)

8) I guess it is is uncomfortable for you and others at times having to face up to not being able to carry your convictions away frim this website. Ultimately, your support for your ministers(or fear of finding fault with them before your friends on here according to your extra biblical demands,) matters more to you than your theological convictions of the faith
