Oh man, I couldn't stand Dale. I see you more as Maggie, although she's not being a very good christian girl lol.
You see her as Maggie? Really? Her as Dale makes far more sense to me. Dale was philosophical, very watchful over the others, he always wanted to talk about everyone's problems, and he was the moral voice of the group. Maggie is rebellious, angry, closed off, and has some pretty big issues to deal with.

If we're going to discuss the Walking Dead, let's not reveal spoilers, yeah? Who knows who else watches the show and isn't caught up or hasn't become a fan yet. :D

Well I figured Dale is an old, hairy dude and Maggie is a pretty young lady. Call me crazy I guess. :D

Plus, Dale annoyed me with his idealism. I know he probably would be the most christian minded of the group, but I think his character is too much of a thinker and not enough of a doer.

I am not simply resourceful, I am highly skilled at resource procurement and reallocation.
Tools are comfortable in my hands, though the materials I put them to find themselves doing things they previously did not know they could do.
I can prove that Bob Villa, and those other PBS DIY guys are putzes.
I have fixed cars over the phone.
I am an even Better mom than Daryl.
I know stuff and slay dragons (one version of my business card even says so).
I can operate heavy machinery and power equipment.
I can drive an automatic, not just a stick shift. Being able to swap back and forth is actually difficult for some.
For anyone geek enough to have played Shadowrun, I have skills as a fixer.
I have a highly successful history of "that doesn't need a doctor, but this does" medicine.
I have a track record indicating successful leadership in bad situations.
I can triage and delegate in a non-condescending way that unifies a team.

As for all that stockpile this or that... all it takes is one day's worth of ammo and you got whatever stockpile you need. See, every silver lining has its cloud.

if a zombie apocalypse hits, I'm finding Jullianna's house.

My guess is, she'd find someplace else. Not because you were en route, but because staying put would likely just not work out all that well in such a situation.

Just to point out... the professor was STUCK on the island with them!! He wasn't any better at getting them off the island.lol

It wasn't the Professor's fault. He kept coming up with all sorts of rescue methods only to be foiled again by Gilligan.
Me thinks that in a real survival situation, after the fourteenth time the Professor's ingenious plan was stopped, that Gilligan stew would be served at the "Hooray, we're getting off of this island tomorrow" party!

Lol I didn't even realize how relevant those skills were until u said that. I really can do all those too. :D
To inject a dose of reality into the thread...EVERYONE has skills that can help out...even if it's just chewing gum to act as bait.

Remember that when things go south and your government 'shows up to help'...that community is necessary to survival. Trying to go it alone won't work. Your skills won't be enough.

This is immense. There is little on earth that is more useful to survival than a good scrounger.

I help humanity after the apocalypse by making a successful mad grab at power with my dystopian mad max like gang of followers and we well then rule the new world with an iron fist. WE WILL BE KINGS

If people only understood the depth of truth in this statement - in view of "the times ahead" - they would be doing everything that they could possibly do NOW to help safe-guard and strengthen their community. They "would be for finding out" who they could trust and "be for getting to know them intimately" (general context) - and "be for helping each other out" as much as absolutely possible.

What you are suggesting people should do "when things go south" -- people need to be doing LONG BEFORE then -- not after everything crumbles... (you are absolutely correct)

If every community started learning how to survive NOW - and not wait for KAOS until they got started - things would run a lot "smoother" when that time arrived.

If every church only understood the depth of truth in this statement...

God promised that you would not have to go through His wrath. He also promised you that you would have to go through tribulation.

The survival of the community begins with LOVE and GIVING.

Whatever talents and skills you have -- learn to GIVE THEM AWAY -- FOR FREE -- NEVER being concerned about GETTING PAID for using them to help others.

Learn to HELP those in your church or community (who are "worthy" - who will not selfishly use and abuse you) ANY WAY YOU CAN (that you are reasonably able) -- JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN!

Think about this...

~ Anything that you are going to throw away - that "still has life left in it" - that someone else can use - if reasonably possible - don't throw it away - find out who you can give it to. It will save them time and money.

Don't try to profit from it. Just give it away. Let God take care of the rest...

"You just might be suprised at how much profit there is in not trying to profit..."

~ Every time you provide a service - for free - that someone would otherwise have to pay for -- you save them time and money.

And, the idea is (understand the context):

"Do not buy. Do not sell. Do not barter. Rather, just GIVE."

(You just might be suprised at how well this works for everyone involved.)

"Love thy neighbour as thyself."

Not to worry -- my super-duper special-spark high-voltage computer-controlled extended-range zombie-zapper is fully-effective up to 250 feet!

Compare that to the average basic zombie-zapper, which is only fully-effective to about 25 feet. :p

( It's all about knowing how to attach the car antenna - how much electrical tape to use - and what to do with the pumpkin seeds... ) ;)
Oh - I forgot to mention...

"Don't let anyone get between you and the zombie when you fire this bad-boy off! It's not a pretty picture..." :p

I'd probably be handy in the event of zombie apocalypse. I could get down there with a crowbar and shotgun, got the muscle to build fortifications, and smarts enough for some strategizing. I did the same quiz as Rachel, but I got Andrea as my match. Andrea really bugs me on the show, but she kind of does all those things I guess.

Now, are we talking the old timey slow moving zombies or the new, faster moving ones?

Would lend my skills as a killjoy. You never know when it will be useful for someone to point out reality when you're having too much fun dying of exposure before you even see a zombie.

Wait I thought it was all about the duct tape!!!
Duct tape is for holding stuff together.

Electrical tape is needed to make sure you don't get zapped when you fire off the zombie-zapper. ;)

We wouldn't want that - now, would we...??? :p

And, of course - to make sure that the Dielectric Antenna doesn't loose electrical cohesion in the atomic structure of the metalic rod while the zapper engine is firing - thereby maintaining the phase velocity of the propagation of the ZAP wave as it leaves the unit and intercepts the zombie.

Simple, really...

:)

*I can cook almost anything from scratch
*Once upon a time I was an expert marksman in the USAF
*I am a sci-fi dork, and have read up on a lot of lore/mythology, so therefore I can be the Sam to your Dean...
*I am pretty handy at fixing stuff...
*With my theatre degree, I learned basic carpentry and welding skills.
*I can sew... on a machine and by hand.. so good with power or without!
*I can knit AND crochet (And latch-hook, but who needs an 80's decorative rug during an apocalypse?)

So, choose me for your apocalypse team! :D
