I Wish People Would Always Capitalize the "G" in God or "J" in Jesus...

This is only a suggestion rather than a demand. It's an eye sore when I read it on here. So if you have the mind, please give the honor and respect He deserves. =)

Not calling anyone out, it's just a little pet peeve of mine.

Thanks!

I haven't seen anyone do otherwise. If they're not capitlising God, they're likely talking about pagan gods.

Nope...it is a particular pet peeve of mine as I said, and it sticks with me once I've seen it. I've seen it many times since my short stay on these forums. I'm not judging anyone, it's just a suggestion. ;)

I know a couple can't because they are on smart phones and some have physical disabilities that cause it to be hard for them to capitalize any words, they are doing good just to write to begin with.

so I would suggest forgiveness and tolerance for some of the posters if they are not always able to capitalize words.

others (certain atheist) do it to get on your nerves. I wouldn't give them the sastifaction knowing they got to you.

In the greek manuscripts you will see either all caps or all small letters on all words.

True on both accounts. Not all members are Christians. You'll find that out soon enough.

I agree completely. Give God the respect He deserves by using Capital Letters when we talk about Him. And also give satan, the devil or whatever demon the respect its due by giving it a lower case letters througout. :)

Re: I Wish People Would Always Capitalize the "G" in God or "J" in Jesus...

Its funny because the King James version tries to do this. It caps words like : He, Him, Lord, LORD, God, Son, etc, when the subject is talking about God & Christ. because some one might be confused who is being addressed, a false god, or The Real God. etc etc etc etc.

Since i been using the King James, for some time I noticed it, and try to do that in my posts when I remember.

Re: I Wish People Would Always Capitalize the "G" in God or "J" in Jesus...

Tolerance for the Physically Disabled.... ok. My wife never liked it when people pressumed she couldn't do something just because she was deaf. In fact she would become furious if anyone dared claim that someone couldn't do something because he/she was physically disabled and even inspired a young man in our school who didn't have a full arm to partake in running, so much so that he recently went to the para-olympics. But we could give tolerance for those people.

As for the Atheists...
Rom 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
I am sorry, but I refuse to apologize for worshipping God and respecting Him appropriately.

I'm Not So Sure It Matters Which Words You Capitalize So Long As Everyone Knows You're Talking about the real jesus and the real god not some figment of someones imagination.

I SUPPOSE THOUGH IT WOULD BE IN MY BEST INTEREST TO LEAVE CAPS LOCK ON, GIVEN THAT I WOULD NEVER MISS THE CAPITLIZING OF GOD AND JESUS.

Yes, typically people capitalize God and Jesus by default unless their spelling, and general language structure is suffering elsewhere in the post.

Right on WordGaurdian, i was watching 700club this morning and a young man that was born with no eyes was on there, he plays piano, writes music, and wrote a book. That young man gives all the Glory to God and won't put limits on God of what God will do thru him. btw. i don't feel satan is worthy of capitalized letters, and if any one ever see's a typo of me not capitalizing, God, Father, Christ Jesus, Son, Holy Spirit, or Comforter, please correct me.

Re: I Wish People Would Always Capitalize the "G" in God or "J" in Jesus...

lol I just laugh that this is in the BIBLE discussion forum. lol

[h=3]Romans 14:5-7[/h]New King James Version (NKJV)

[SUP]5 [/SUP]One person esteems one day above another; another esteems every day alike. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. [SUP]6 [/SUP]He who observes the day, observes it to the Lord;[SUP][a][/SUP] and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe it. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks. [SUP]7 [/SUP]For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself.

just to add some Bible flavor into the conversation ;)

If people are preaching a false jesus, which is an idol that cannot save, then lower case would be appropriate.

It's good for distinction.

In a setting like this especially since you can type it out.
