Whatever happened to the days when metal was metal? What is up with all of these sub-genres?! I for one find it hilarious how technical people get in labeling which sub-genre a band belongs to.
Without sub-genres people would already assume that Black metal and Grindcore is the same thing because it is metal, but that may not be the case.
Granted, sub-genres are annoying when someone says something like:
"The Contortionist, wow!, thats some great meodlic hardcore." Next guy, "no you retard, this is clearly deathcore." Next guy: "Calling this band deathcore is an insult! This is clearly metalcore." The actual band: "Guys read the description bar below are videos and bio. We are a Progressive band.
So yeah I understand the frustrations. Then you have the whole stereotypes in metal?!?! Who cares if your a metalhead, emo, scene, goth?.. whatever. Metal is metal.
