Satan's meeting (read even if you're busy)

Satan called a worldwide convention of demons. In his opening address he said, "We can't keep Christians from going to church." "We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth." "We can't even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their savior." "Once they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is broken."

"So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish dinners, but steal their time, so they don't have time to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ." "This is what I want you to do", said the devil:

"Distract them from gaining hold of their Savior and maintaining that vital connection throughout their day!" "How shall we do this?" his demons shouted.

"Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds," he answered.

"Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow."

"Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles."

"Keep them from spending time with their children." "As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work!"

"Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice." "Entice them to play the radio or cassette player whenever they drive." "To keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical
music constantly." "This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ."

"Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers." "Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day." "Invade their driving moments with billboards." "Flood their mail boxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs,
sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free products , services and false hopes."

"Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbands will believe that outward beauty is what's important, and they'll become dissatisfied with their wives." "Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night." "Give them headaches too!" "If they don't give their
husbands the love they need, they will begin to look elsewhere." "That will
fragment their families quickly!"

"Give them Santa Claus to distract them from teaching their children the real meaning of Christmas." "Give them an Easter bunny so they won't talk about his resurrection and power over sin and death."

"Even in their recreation, let them be excessive." "Have them return from their recreation exhausted." "Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God's creation." "Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts, and movies instead." "Keep them busy, busy, busy!"

"And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences."

"Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek power from Jesus." "Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause." "It will work!"
"It will work!"

It was quite a plan! The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get more busy and more rushed, going here and there. Having little time for their God or their families. Having no time to tell others about the power of Jesus to change lives.

I guess the question is, has the devil been successful at his scheme?

Please...

"Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds," he answered.

"Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow."
Christians.... They are becoming more naive and very laughable as we speak. No wonder Satan's unbiblical made-up meeting worked.

"Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles."

"Keep them from spending time with their children." "As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work!"
? Just because you have a job which should be a blessing to a Christian doesn't mean you can't spend no time with your children.

? oh no it is a sin now to listen to music while we drive ahhh! What? Listening to Born of Osiris makes me unsaved? Yeah no, that is a opinion not worth respecting

The false hope is what you believe and what you spread out to others. Actual apply the dusty scriptures in your life.

If a demon has possession and control on a Christian than that makes Jesus (Yeshua is his actual name,) fake and powerless. What is wrong with skinny woman? Shall the whole human race just become unattractive diabetics?

"Give them Santa Claus to distract them from teaching their children the real meaning of Christmas." "Give them an Easter bunny so they won't talk about his resurrection and power over sin and death."
Finally, something that makes sense. However, what is with this gay concept you created?

"Even in their recreation, let them be excessive." "Have them return from their recreation exhausted." "Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God's creation." "Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts, and movies instead." "Keep them busy, busy, busy!"

"And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences."
If we don't take nature walks we sin on a daily basis? Define small talk.

"Crowd their lives with so many good causes they have no time to seek power from Jesus." "Soon they will be working in their own strength, sacrificing their health and family for the good of the cause." "It will work!"
"It will work!"
No it won't! No it won't! Weird kind of doctrine you have.

It was quite a plan! The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get more busy and more rushed, going here and there. Having little time for their God or their families. Having no time to tell others about the power of Jesus to change lives.
Yeshua can't change anybodies life if he is thought of as powerless and fake as you mentioned.

I guess the question is, has the devil been successful at his scheme?
Yes, he has successfully brain washed you to make up stories. *Claps*

actually jake, the music like rock you listen to.. its pretty much of this world. Even in the bible it says " we are not of this world" i try to find songs that actually glorify God and not have any rock beat. Why should we try to be of this world.. is this world our master? what is holding us back from trying to not be of this world?

Yes, very true. Who said worship music is G-d's music only? Any music can be acceptable.

Nate, the bible doesn't condemn any type of music. We live in the world, therefore, we are part of the world. However, we don't need to associate with ungodly things. Those things depend on the individual though.

I am not sure why you feel the need to be so critical of this post, you seem to 'tear' it apart...I read it as an interesting story, the point was to just raise our awareness of how we can get caught up in the ways of the world. It reminded me of C S Lewis, ' The Screwtape Letters' . I read it as Rejoice83 sharing an interesting way of viewing how we ' could ' live, not telling us it is what we do, just a story. You write ' successfully brainwashed'? Maybe I have misunderstood the tone of your reply, if so I apologies. If not, I do not understand your issue with the post? <><

Very true, this was my Christian experience for many years, as I was dead to the word of God, and to holiness and purity, which really reflects the teachings in the churches today.

They make repentance and faith a mere suggestion, or just a confession, followed by a dead faith in a provision they think accounts them righteous before Christ while they are still in bondage to sin and the world.

They allow the destractions of the world crowd out any form of godliness because they were never taught they must crucify their flesh with Christ, so they remain a doube minded false Christian, having a form of godliness but denying the power of it.

Who Are The Wicked!
Isa 5:20 Woe to those who call evil good and good evil; who put darkness for light and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter!
Isa 5:21 Woe to those wise in their own eyes, and bright in their own sight!

The wicked are simply those who persist in sin, defend sin, and live a godless life while proclaiming to be in the light!
But the professing hypocritical church today that defend their right to be a filthy rag sinner, still defiled in their hearts, will say the wicked are the serial killers, rapists, terrorists, etc., but they can disobey God every day and be considered righteous by proxy that Jesus took their place!
Luk 11:35 Therefore take heed that the light in you is not darkness.
You cannot walk IN the light and the dark at the same time! Those who defend the sin gospel are still In darkness, but think they are IN the light, which is a very dangerous place to be in!
Mal 2:17 You have wearied Jehovah with your words. Yet you say, In what have we wearied Him? When you say, every evildoer is good in the eyes of Jehovah, and He delights in them; or, where is the God of justice?
When you defend your right to be Of God, and to be IN sin, and to be OF the world, then you have wearied God with your words! You are actually promoting evil over good in the eyes of God, and making Him a god of this age who winks at sin and rebellion
Ecc 8:11 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
Ecc 8:12 Though a sinner do evil an hundred times, and his days be prolonged, yet surely I know that it shall be well with them that fear God, which fear before him:
Ecc 8:13 But it shall not be well with the wicked, neither shall he prolong his days, which are as a shadow; because he feareth not before God.
Ecc 8:14 There is a vanity which is done upon the earth; that there be just men, unto whom it happeneth according to the work of the wicked; again, there be wicked men, to whom it happeneth according to the work of the righteous: I said that this also is vanity.
Just because the professing church thinks they can live IN sin and disobedience, or defend their right to sin and disobey God, doesn’t mean God condones their ways! No way!
He is waiting patiently for now for all to repent, stop doing evil, and seek His great mercy! God makes it crystal clear that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God, He commands His children to hate evil, and cling to good! He gives all a fair chance to repent, and come and reason with Him, to seek His great mercy, and forgiveness, followed by much power and strength IN Christ to resist the temptations of the devil, and this fading and dying world, infested with wicked sinners who mock God by denying His truth and also the power He came to give to mankind who touch the blood of Christ through repentance, stopping all sin and rebellion against Him.
Now free from the bondages of sin, and the lies, coming with a pure heart now being led by the spirit of truth!
Tommy
Psa 10:11 He has said in his heart, God has forgotten; He hides His face; He will not see forever!
Psa 10:12 Arise, O Jehovah; O God, lift up Your hand; forget not the humble.
Psa 10:13 Why do the wicked condemn God? He has said in his heart, You will not judge.

Ok what do you think of the followers of Jim Jones? They were brainwashed, but wrote what they knew. Same concept.

This post just possesses naive thinking. Making Yeshua out to be powerless bothers me alot.

Barly, I think your post is good but it gives the Enemy too much power. He's not the only one responsible for the temptations in our lives. All three are - our own sinful flesh, the world's culture and the Enemy. We can do a lot of damage ourselves without the Enemy having to step in.

Interesting this is your response. You name a mass murderer in reference to a well meaning post, a bit OTT for me. I prefer to see the positive first not the negative, it is simply a story, to raise awareness and to make us think. It is in the same vein as CS Lewis. You are saying Jesus is powerful? Yet you have Nietzsche , Hendrix & Manson quotes at the bottom of your page. What message do you think that gives? What witness is that? To some, it would not be stating the power of Christ, that is, if they chose to leap immediately to negative explanations regarding those men's beliefs & lifestyles and how surely that could be a challenge to a Christian man putting Christ in the centre of his life? Why quote such potentially contraversial figures, have such quotes at all, that to some would ' bother them a lot' for they may see these men as putting man first and living in a way that shows a denial of the power of Christ. But, THAT would be assuming, judging and immediately jumping to negative interpretations..which of course, I am not going to do. <><

I still stand where I stand at the beginning reading this, its naive thinking. Very contradicting.

Why do Atheists sometimes quote bible verse they like? Is that wrong? If you answered yes, I have lost all faith in humanity.
I just like what they have to say about what is important in my life, music. I view Jimi Hendrix as a great musician. He doesn't have to have a good lifestyle for me to admire his musical skills. That is probably the reason why praise and worship music sucks.

My experience of Satan keeping people busy is very different.Jesus said that HIS burden is light, and that He ONLY did what He saw the Father doing. He did not go to every town, every village , heal everyone sick and raise everyone from the dead. He was specific.

So Satan keeping people busy is joining a new church. Before you know it you are roped into the welcome committee, the tea rota, the bible study, the prayer meetings, running the youth group and the creche and given a huge amount of guilt if you dont participate in a) church activities b) serving the church

Any church Ive been too I have been approached with these things and my answer is always " let me pray about it first and see what the Lord says"

You can spend all your time doing CHURCH things leaving very little room to do what the Lord specifically wants you to do. And sometimes it is to REST. He MAKES me lie down in green pastures if I dont get enough rest!

Be very careful that church meetings, projects and duties dont make you so busy you dont rest in God.

Even if that is so, I can only speak and give an account for myself. I simply don't let other Christians (generally) effect what I listen to and/or learn to play instrumentally. However, I am opened to any logical response or stance. How does praise and worship music reach out to the world if its just...I dont know...plain, nothing musically of taste? (opinion)

As for the "dont listen to anything non christian or be anywhere non christian" etc. Greater is He who is IN ME than in the world. We are IN the world but not of it. I really dont understand why people try and seperate themselves so much from the world? How are people ever going to learn to walk strong in this world if they are so afraid to be in it? It is certainly not what I saw the disciples do, or Jesus for that matter. We are called to be salt and light.....and a lit candle in a dark room does more than a lit candle in a room full of other lit candles. As a young christian the Lord took music off me...FOR A WHILE...while I learnt to put it in its rightful place...NOT as an idol. Once that was sorted He gave me it back. If non christian music effects you really bad, or non christian films or being in non christian places....if you REALLY cannot cope IN the world then please ask where is the Lord? These things should not effect you when you walk strongly in the Lord.

I think the idea of the opening post is not to say these are all individual sins, but combined all these can serve as a bad distraction, making us avoid God. I personally think the message of this thread is a good one, as long as you view it correctly.

As for whether or not non-christian music is a sin, it really depends on the person. Now, as explained to me, this is what we call a "sin of the heart". It's kinda like asking yourself if it's alright to play video games, or watch certain movies, it really matters how it effects you. As long as music does not weaken your relationship with God, or if you don't feel it's wrong in your heart, it's not a sin.
