Sometimes counseling is necessary, sometimes it isn't. I don't know if what I do really qualifies as intensive counseling. I just try to pinpoint the inconsistencies in their thinking as it pertains to the Word and give them scriptures to help them combat the lies that are hurting them. How much we talk about that in preparation for deliverance is dependent upon where they are in their walk with Christ. My focus is on removing any preconcieved notions that will interfere with them retaining their deliverance. I am unfamiliar with the sozo concept or any other concept.
The healing happens a little at a time before, during and after. They are requested to release any unforgiveness they may have for anyone who has hurt them--they do this on their own prior to deliverance through prayer, then if there are any real traumatized areas, it will show up on their questionnaire answers. We just deal with the lies they believe that are hurting them and the their sin or the sin of the people who were in charge or hurt them. What we are focusing on is the releasing of the unforgivenss associated with the lies that continue to torment them. Once those are gone along with the demonic influence, the only thing left is to choose not to continue in agreement, inviting the dysfunctional cycle back. I am sure afterwards the HS continues to help heal them as well.
