OK!
Time for one of those "crazy" Church of Christer views on this...

Does the word "forever" in Ecclesiastes 1:4 mean "everlasting?"
"One generation passes away, and another generation comes; but the earth abides forever" (Ecclesiastes 1:4).
The Hebrew word 'owlam refers to something that is of a long, indefinite period. It is a period of time which you cannot say for certainty when it comes to an end. To see this, look a few verses later to Ecclesiastes 1:10, "Is there anything of which it may be said, "See, this is new"? It has already been in ancient times before us." The same word, 'owlam is translated as "ancient times." The writer is not stating that the world has been in existence for an infinite amount of time, but that it has been around so long that it is hard to say precisely when it began.
God stated in Isaiah 42:14, "I have held My peace a long time, I have been still and restrained Myself. Now I will cry like a woman in labor, I will pant and gasp at once." The same word, 'owlam, is translated at "a long time." In this verse God is not saying He would never speak. In fact, He states that now He would cry out. He had held His peace for a long, indefinite time, but that time came to an end. Therefore, we see that something "forever" can come to an end.
This is also seen in the sacrifices of the Old Testament, "And it shall be for Aaron and his sons, and they shall eat it in a holy place; for it is most holy to him from the offerings of the LORD made by fire, by a perpetual statute" (Leviticus 24:9). (The word 'owlam, is translated as "perpetual.") Though perpetual, those sacrifices came to an end (Hebrews 9:25-28).
In the same way, the temple was built to stand forever (II Chronicles 2:4), but that temple no longer stands.

Is this incorrect? I think NOT!

You beat me to it!..lol

To me that LOUD 1000 year marker is a HUGE signal to us, that the stuff after it, doesn't come within the confines of near/soon/quickly.

Of course it has an end, The same time the earth passes away

as with the earth no longer being here, forever ends.

Since canaan will no longer be here, forever ends
. :p

both state that things will be forever.. but we know there will be a time when they are no longer ABLE to happen.. when the things promised do not exist anymore.

I can only imagine the enormous quantities of dope a person would need to smoke to come to a conclusion that it had passed away. Lolol...

But sharks and jellyfish will not be able to hurt you..lol I could take an empty body of water though, I just love being out on it.

Jesus ate in his ressurected body, he said our will be like his..

He also said he will not dine again until he dines with us in heaven.. I look forward to eating for pure pleasure. not to stay alive :)

absamalootly, positivamally.

Revelation 20
7And when the thousand years are ended, Satan will be released from his prison 8and will come out to deceive the nations that are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them for battle; their number is like the sand of the sea. 9And they marched up over the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, but fire came down from heavenb and consumed them, 10and the devil who had deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur where the beast and the false prophet were, and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

Judgment Before the Great White Throne
11Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. 12And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. 13And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. 14Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. 15And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire

the camp of the saints and the beloved city - thats christians, wherever they are:

Hebrews 12:22
But you have come to Mount Zion, to the heavenly Jerusalem, the city of the living God. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly

This is the second death, the lake of fire - thats for people who didnt take part in the first resurrection - now - while living:)

People in my own congregation argue about the Rome deal. I still am not totally sure what to believe on that one. I have seen so many different views which has clouded my own.
Just more motivation to keep studying

excellent teaching on romans 10 - 11,,
But I am sure you will not listen.. at least with an open mind.

Gods strategy in human history

if fact,, you should start with chapter 9 to get the complete context. Even I learned a few things I did not know with these two teachings.

Study what the 2nd century Christians did to the jews.. then what Rome did to them for many years.

Of course they sort of deserved it. But if the church got romans 9 right, Paul wanted us to be loving like God said we should be to make his people jealous. We screwed up big time in this area.
