Carey ALL SIN IS WILLFULL... It is the WILL OF SATAN that we sin, HE WILLS IT, and we FALL for it. God has a WAY out... HIS WILL IS WE DO NOT SIN... LET US FALL FOR THAT then we do not follow Satan in sin, but God in righteousness.
God has a way out, you are correct. It's by the blood of Christ. Not by works so that no one can boast. I am not saying that one can go on sinning all they want after getting saved, they MUST strive to be more like Christ. But to be perfect is crazy doctrine.

There is NO verse in the Bible that teach Jesus' blood covers sin.
1Jn_1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

You forgot a verse.

This thread is already going in circles, and it's only page 1...

Ya can't win an argument with someone who is perfect. All us lowly sinners are just boosting their pride by even discussing the topic of sin, building their pedestals a little bit higher by admitting that we fall short of the glory of God, and they apparently don't.

Yep, there is. When something is "cleansed", it eventually gets dirty and needs cleansed again.

And again.

And again.

Hmm, kind of the way Christians stumble and need forgiveness. Hmm, I say.

Nope the blood cleanse us, the NEW SPIRIT keeps us clean/holy/without sin/perfect! You see this is where you people are confused by the many false teachings... The blood is a ONE TIME THING... It cleanse PERFECTLY ONCE!
After the blood what happened... HE ROSE UP FROM THE DEAD TO LIVE!!!!

If God resurrect you.... BORN AGAIN. yuo get a NEW HEART. A NEW SPIRIT, A NEW LIFE. A GODLY LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS! And there IS NO SIN IN THAT LIFE. OR IN GOD, OR IN CHRIST or in YOU!

Remember God saying... NOBODY PUTS NEW WINE IN OLD SACKS? Well God does not either... THE NEW YOU IS A NEW SACK and NE WINE.... LIKE HE WANTS IT! PERFECT!

MISS CHRIS I am the biggest sinner here, so I do not know who is the perfect people you talk about? But the fact that I need God's salvation cannot stop me from turning to lies about how pwoerful HE SAVES...

And where do you think salvation is Radius? You say if a person is saved he should not go on sinning..... God says those that endures to the end shall be saved.... To the end of WHAT? What is this END God talks about here?

There is not continuence of washing, there is no ADDING grace.... PAul said, shall we continue to sin so grace can be abound? GOD FORBID!!!! My friends, I teach the Truth.... If salvation= saved=born again= Holy Spirit filled= made perfect= God's grace and finished work ALL IS GOD'S WILL TO MAKE THE SAINTS PERFECT...

Eph 4:11 to 13... UNTO A PERFECT MAN... God says!!!

The love covering sins is NOT BLOOD, it is me forgiving you a sin! In the Love of Jesus I will forgive ALL WHO SIN AGAINST ME.... Me learning grace and forgiveness.... God does not have to learn how to forgive... HE KNOWS HOW, we have to learn!

There is no verse in the Bible that teaches Jesus' blood covers sin???? What about Isaiah 53, which speaks about our Lord? It says in part "He was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities. Upon him was the punishment that made us whole, and by his bruises we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray. We have all turned to our own ways. And the Lord has laid upon him the iniquities of us all." Read the whole of Isaiah 53. If this isn't talking about Jesus, whom is it talking about?

There is NO verse in the Bible where a person gave his heart to Jesus. There is NO verse in the Bible that teach Jesus' blood covers sin. There is no verse in the Bible that gives ANY PERSON permission to sin. There is NO verse in the Bible that says we will aLWAYS be sinners and fall short. But the OPPOSITE is taught... SIN NOT, BE HOLY, BE PERFECT, BE RIGHTEOUS. BE ALIVE, BE OBEDIENT. WALK IN TRUTH! WALK AS CHILDREN OF THE LIGHT... ETC. ETC. ETC. I wonder why God says it so many places.... GO AND SIN NO MORE!!!! Maybe He knows that if HE DOES GIVE US A NEW LIFE IN CHRIST,,,,, SIN IS NO MORE~!!!!1

I have said the same thing misscris has said. you are wasting your time talking to " perfect people". they are never going to come off their positions and admit they make mistakes. it is so, so dangerous to try to separate sin into intentional and unintentional catagories as this leads to a lot of " it wasn't my fault" or I did not do anything wrong.

If John really defended the position that believers are always sinning otherwise they are deceiving themselves, then he contradicted himself when he said this: 1 John 2:1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
...and this:

1 John 3:6,8 Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him. [8] He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Why would he say we should not sin when in a previous chapter he asserted that we always have sin in our lives? There is absolutely no logic in that, therefore there ought to be another interpretation of that verse.

Another passage people love to quote to defend continuation of sin in believers is Romans 7:14-25.

I would have expounded further but I'm heading out.
Actually.. here we have a HUGE issue. If John meant in these passages sin of anyking, he contradicts himself in John 1: 8.

John is not saying we can go on sinning, He is saying a person born of God does not live in habitual sin.

in 1:8 he says if we claim to be sinless, we are deceived.

You just stated a fact these perfectionalists will never understand.

Sinless perfection IS PERFECT LOVE. it is the love of God.. we can not go 24 hrs/day without failing to show perfect love. Thus we can not go 24 hours/day sinless.

we will not be able to do this until we are in heaven, and have the glorified bodies unable to sin, the flesh GONE.

Until then. as John said, anyone who claims to have no sin (declares he is sinless perfect) is a liar and he deceives himself.

if these people want to decieve themselves into thinking they are sinless. I guess let them. let the rest of us learn to be like Paul. Grow in Christ daily. the more we grow in Christ, the more sinful we realize we truly are, and the less deserving we think we will ever be.

This word 'cleanseth' is in the present tense signifying continual action.

We probably do sin everyday. But if we are His child we ask forgiveness and He forgives us. First we have to be His child by believing in Him, repenting of our sins, confessing Jesus as Son of God, and being baptized. Mark 16:15 &16, Acts 2:38, 1 Peter 3:21 etc. We have to obey all of God's commands in the New Testament and when we fall short and sin we have prayer to ask for forgiveness.

Think about it. Sin comes in every way, shape and form. Thinking impure thoughts is a sin. Looking at a girl in a sexual way is a sin (which man can honestly say he can go days on end without doing this?), and even should you go a whole day without a sin you would probably be proud of your accomplishment giving way to pride -- which, you guessed it, is a sin.

Bottom line is I can't stand to hear that we must be perfect in order to receive salvation as some preach on here. Do these people honestly think they are sinless? Maybe they are not in bondage of ONE particular sin but they are in bondage to all kinds of separate smaller sins each day -- sins they may not even know they are committing.

I guess the spirit of this thread hinges on 1 John 1:8 "If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us."

Without naming names of certain forum members, what do you make of 1 John 1:8? The Bible is saying that if you say you have no sin then the truth is NOT in you. That would scare me if I were you.
Do you really find it that hard not to lust after a girl? I mean, few people like the fairer sex so much as me, but it's really not hard to think of off limits girls as freinds or sisters rather than lust after them... Even if you do find it that hard, surely you aren't faced with this every single day.

Set the theological perfectionism debate a side for a bit. In that post you're just making excuses for not controlling yourself...

If you guys want to talk about Paul and what he said, then you better be well known about Paul, because he said many things! He even lied so that the glory of God be abounded... I hope you know PAul well. AND HIS TEACHINGS!
Cobus, I think you just sinned by bearing false witness unless you can show where Paul lied.
