Christ is called ”The Law” in Scripture, He supercedes the laws of Moses. This means?

What happened when Christ was crucified and the new covenant began?

Some like to think that once Christ died the 10 commandment laws were ”made obsolete,” and, yes, actually, this is true , as Hebrews says this true and His words in Scripture are truth, whoever wrote Hebrews, whethsr was Paul, Apollos, Peter, whoever, God breathed those words into the author's very said words which expired from that authors very said thoughts.

But, when Scripture says that The Law is what matters now, how then does that truth mean the 10 commandments were not really made obsolete but instead increased by His death and by His many words regarding The Law from His apostle, Paul, speaking to.the Romans and to Timothy?

So, are the laws of Moses done, and, we are NOT talking about the ceremonial laws of animal sacrifice, etc.,bthose laws were done away with, to be certain, by Jesus' shed blood on the cross. But, what about those laws written on tablets of stone?

What do I mean when I constantly tell all on here, ”The Lord leads?”

What does Paul mean when he says we have to follow the ”rules,” in 2 Timothy 2:5?
What does ”the prize” refer to? Read 2 Timothy 4:8 , and, then, Philipians 3:14 .

What then of the laws commanded Moses to lead the Israelites to go by?

Who is this One whom we are to love with ALL our heart , mind, body, soul ?
And, who tells us to love our neighbors as we love ourself?

Who is this ”The Law” who wants us to EX out the obsolete Old Covenant and put our faith in the New Covenant?

Who is this King Of Glory, who rules with a righteousness and majesty all His own that He freely gives to us for following Him, following His,laws, understanding His grace, His mercy, His love, His care for us, that over-rivals all others' cares for you on Earth???

Who?
Who?
Who?

Who was this little baby boy who grew in stature (popularity), became the wisest of men on Earth, who became The Law we are to follow after He'd died and rose again????

Who?
Who?

Go for it, owls, ba-a-a, ba-aa, what is your understanding of The Law , as far as why the Scripture did not REALLY make the laws written by Moses obsolete but enhanced , augmented, by the power of Jesus' walk on Earth, that showed us His way to truth, to life, forevermore?

Jesus did no destroy the law. He just made it easer. "Love God above all else." If you do this, you will follow all of Gods laws.

I believe this because Jesus taught this! Right, you knew that. Praise God. Thanks for the good reminder.

You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. [SUP]3 [/SUP]You show that you are a letter from Christ, the result of our ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts

That is a beautiful lesson! God, Himself, has removed the commandments from stone and inscribed them on our hearts. It is a joy to obey Him in Jesus Christ always, amen..........[[/COLOR]QUOTE=mark54;963820]You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone. Excellent response !

One thing revising: We are imputed Christ's righteousness when we die to Him crucified, pick up our cross and follow Him. The Lord leads. :) But, we are NOT imputed Christ's majesty, as I ill-informed you, His majesty is ALL His own. Our God reigns. He is all and all. :)

All majesty, glory, honor, goes to Him ! :)

My understanding of the Law: the Law is fulfilled by this: Love. In so having loved, the Law is fulfilled. And by such love, we are perfect as our Father in Heaven is perfect in Him showing no partiality between the just and unjust when it comes to given. We who follow God are to follow Him in love.

Follow who in love, cee ?

1 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

2 Mark my words! I, Paul, tell you that if you let yourselves be circumcised, Christ will be of no value to you at all. 3 Again I declare to every man who lets himself be circumcised that he is obligated to obey the whole law. 4 You who are trying to be justified by the law have been alienated from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. 5 For through the Spirit we eagerly await by faith the righteousness for which we hope. 6 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love.

7 You were running a good race. Who cut in on you to keep you from obeying the truth? 8 That kind of persuasion does not come from the one who calls you. 9 “A little yeast works through the whole batch of dough.” 10 I am confident in the Lord that you will take no other view. The one who is throwing you into confusion, whoever that may be, will have to pay the penalty. 11 Brothers and sisters, if I am still preaching circumcision, why am I still being persecuted? In that case the offense of the cross has been abolished. 12 As for those agitators, I wish they would go the whole way and emasculate themselves!

Life by the Spirit

13 You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh a ; rather, serve one another humbly in love. 14 For the entire law is fulfilled in keeping this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” b 15 If you bite and devour each other, watch out or you will be destroyed by each other.

16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever c you want. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other.

"The law of Christ" is a biblical phrase of uncertain meaning, found only in the Apostle Paul's Epistle to the Galatians verse 6:2 and parenthetically in 1 COr. 9:21.

Actually in Romans Paul discusses 3 laws.

The law of the Spirit. ( the Divine nature)
The law of sin. ( the sin nature)
The law of the mind. ( Human nature)

Re: Christ is called ”The Law” in Scripture, He supercedes the laws of Moses. This me

"[SUP]36 [/SUP]“Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”[SUP]37 [/SUP]Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ [SUP]38 [/SUP]This is the first and greatest commandment. [SUP]39 [/SUP]And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ [SUP]40 [/SUP]All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”" Matt. 22:36-40.

Perhaps this is the law we should all be following! Love God and your neighbor and you have fulfilled the law.

sorry meant to say more but the phone was ringing Here is where most miss it and where i start getting post to fight against it The only thing that God will accept is faith in the cross. When we place our solely in the work of the cross. Then that Gives The Holy Spirit the legal right to produce in us good works. If we place our faith in keeping a law or ritual or routine then the sin nature is revived because, we are trying to serve God by our own means and God will not accept that, only the cross.

I would say Gal 6:2 is clear. Carry each others burdens(love others) and so fulfill the law of Christ. Christ's teaching can be summed up as love God, and love your neighbour.

Well, grammatically, "Christ is the law" does not mean "the law of Christ."

Nor is "the law of Christ" of uncertain meaning.
The law of Christ is the law of love (Jn 13:34; Gal 6:2; Ro 13:8-10), which is written internally on our hearts, rather than externally on tablets of stone.

Re: Christ is called ”The Law” in Scripture, He supercedes the laws of Moses. This me

Christ is the end of the Law for the purpose of righteousness. This means that people no longer become righteous by how well they perform the law.

As Christians, we should not discard the Old Testament Law. When understood in the light of the New Covenant, the Old Covenant provides us with invaluable revelation of God. Paul was simply stressing that the time when people sought to be justified through the keeping of the Old Testament Law is over. Now, people must put their faith in Christ, and Christ alone, for salvation.
Someone might ask, "Was anyone ever justified by the keeping of the Law?" The answer is yes. One person did become righteous through His keeping of the Old Testament Law. That person was Jesus. One of the reasons the Old Testament Law was given was so that Jesus could legally earn man's redemption. Now that the purchase has been completed, that function of the Law is over.

The function of the law of OT is over, obsolete, but we who obey The Law will follow the laws given on stone by God to Moses, no stealing, no lying, no coveting, no idols, etc. The Spirit of God leads us to.follow His laws for out life; they will be good . Jer. 29:11-13
The word ”supecede” means what to you? :)

Re: Christ is called ”The Law” in Scripture, He supercedes the laws of Moses. This me

Supercede to me means 'goes before'. Spiritual law supercedes natural law. Spiritual laws are more accurate, more steadfast, and more certain than natural laws. Which is why we must study the scripture.

Love Jer 29 : 11-19 :) BTW, kind of a saving verse for me, something I remind myself of in my prayers daily
.
Jer 29 : 11-19 speaks of nothing but Gods BEST for me; nothing else . A promise to hang on to. :)

Actually, Jesus did not become righteous, he was born righteous.

Under trial, he did not lose his righteousness, as did Adam under trial.
