I am interested to see this illustration further expanded. It is interesting that faith is a hedge in this picture. Hedges grow and that platform isn't particularly tall.
I have an image in mind with a sort of deer stand within the hedge...I don't think man's attempts are error, but that it must be understood within the hedge. If one steps outside the hedge the utility is extremely limited (arguably non-existent) Consider the faith vs sight dichotomy.
It is art, which means it could mean different things to different people. I personally believe it is more of a heart issue than intellectual. A strong faith doesn't need a theology degree. But also a theology degree without faith is useless.
Ineresting! If "faith" is a hedge it looks like a maze and also that some people are lost in it. We are to study to show ourselves approved and yet faith is more a heart issue than one of intellect, though of course the two are inextricably connected
