    Homeschooling

I just wonder what that looks like - thriving socially - for a Christian kid. It's something I'm poor at myself and my daughter is 14 and I think I failed her in that respect. Maybe there's some time to make some adjustments to myself for her sake and lead her in that direction. I was just...

I used to love Pastor John Piper, but does he believe in Lordship Salvation?

I really like useful distinctions like this one. It reminds me of the way I've seen "Faith without works is dead" approached. You don't have to work to be saved, but if you are saved works will necessarily result. There are just things that you end up doing if you believe someone died for your...

    Newbie of sorts

Hi, and welcome to CC! Just wondering if you attend a church anywhere or if you are simply a follower of Christ.

    I depressed myself this morning.

I think you and I have a lot of similarities and maybe I have something to offer here. This is just the experience from my life and I felt moved to share it. I'm 41 and have learned that before you become a Christian, you form bonds and ties with people that are founded on non-Christian things...

Do You Have Many Non Christian Friends?

It's hard for me to be friends with non-Christians. As a former drug addict, a lot of things I was doing in my former life just come back to memory when I'm around non-Christians. It's hard not to get infuriated at what they are doing. Sometimes I think it's legitimate (I want to warn them about...

Testimony from parents whose kids finally decided to start going to church?

Most of the time we spend several hours together on her school days. Some weekends we're together half the day. Usually it's playing video games together, go out to eat, or go to the mall (when she gets her allowance). As she's gotten older it varies. I will say that I don't talk about her mom...

What is the relationship between faith, works and obedience in salvation?

I've always looked at it as faith produces works necessarily. Besides, how can a person not act out of gratitude if they really believe that Jesus Christ died for all the sins they committed? If a person does nothing in response to that, then they most likely do not believe it or have zero faith...

Testimony from parents whose kids finally decided to start going to church?

That's good advice. I'll be in prayer about it and next week when my daughter comes up I'll just trust in God and see what happens.

Situation at parent's house (where my daughter stays when I take care of her)

I lived with my parents until 4 years ago, when I got married. My wife and I have never lived somewhere that my daughter would be able to stay. Me and my wife are trying to move to a place where my daughter can stay with us, so this may not even be an issue in the months to come.

Testimony from parents whose kids finally decided to start going to church?

The bible tells us to comfort one another with the same comfort the holy spirit gives us. So I was simply seeking comfort and this seemed the best way to go about it. My daughter is from my first marriage. She's 13, and though I think church is a necessity, her mom doesn't think so, and there's...

Situation at parent's house (where my daughter stays when I take care of her)

She spends half the week with me and half the week with her mom. i suppose you could say she is living there, since that's where she sleeps and where all her time is spent with me.

Situation at parent's house (where my daughter stays when I take care of her)

I want to thank everyone for your suggestions and caring responses I would like to say that I have finally been able to break ground with my parents, and the communication is great, and there is much understanding there! I am thankful for your prayers and I thank God for intervening and opening...

How to help out with the persecuted church?

I have a real burden for what's going on with what are supposed to be our brothers and sisters overseas. I think that a lot of good can be done through aiding the persecuted church. I know that there are many ministries such as Voice of the Martyrs and Open Doors which can obviously benefit...
