Believer in Virtue, Light, and Brotherly Love. Narcissism survivor.

Christianity for me is not about the letter of the Bible, but about the underlying concept (the freeing of the spirit from "merely earthly" concerns and the connecting of it to the Light of Virtue and Brotherly Love, and the energy and Goodness this sets free). In my view it is irrelevant what name (God, Jesus, the Light, the Holy Spirit, the Fire of God's Love, ...) one uses for that underlying concept.

It seems likely that I am some kind of Quaker; however I am not a leftist politically, but (in US terms) rather a Republican/Libertarian.

I do not believe in any kind of supernaturalities, and believe that the core of Christianity is completely compatible with Reason and with modern Science, and believe that all the supernaturalities in the Bible should be read as completely metaphorical. In my view, Christianity is about the human heart (soul, psyche, spirit), and not about supernaturalities. I agree with Seraphim Rose that miracles are not the right reason to accept Christianity.

Very much into philosophy.
I see a strong link of continuity between the Ancient Greeks (Epictetus and the other Stoics, Aristotle) and Christianity.

Trivia: The second part of my username (which is not my real name) is a reference to a fictional character in the _Pyrates_ book by Daniel Defoe, in the chapter where pirates start a libertarian colony. The slogan in my avatar image is from the book of Joshua in the O.T. (Septuagint), many verses in chapter 1.
