WHAT'S THAT SMELL???!!! (Toxic Things We Choose on Purpose?)

Unless, of course, you get a dog and this happens. :D

    Share About Yourself

What brought you to CC? I was looking for an online place to fellowship and have a connection with other believers. Name five things you are grateful for. Jesus, my family, living life, my car, coffee… the list is a lot longer than five, honestly. But I’ll end with coffee. What do you like to...

WHAT'S THAT SMELL???!!! (Toxic Things We Choose on Purpose?)

Scented candles, perfumes, car fresheners, all that stuff is appealing to me. Left to my own devices, my sense of smell would likely be deadened within a decade. But I’m in a similar boat to @Subhumanoidal—the chemicals trigger headaches. Just wasn’t meant to be, I guess.

Thank you. My summer is going well, hope yours is too.

    PM vs DM

So... if someone perhaps occasionally sends an IM, it's not that bad, right? It’s not a PM, but it’s not a DM. ...Not that I’d ever send an IM, of course. I’m, uh… asking for a friend.
  6. Psalm130_6

    Hi everyone. I'm lost.

Hey there @theyownyou33 and welcome. I just wanted to post a prayer for you and a few words. Dear Father, please bless and assist @theyownyou33 in his struggle to find You through the discouragement, the pain, and the confusion. Please shine like a beacon of guiding light in his thoughts...

    Dear God

Dear God, Thank you for the peace and the closeness I feel with You after so many years of distance. I know You were not the one creating the void between us, and I appreciate the kindness You’ve shown in giving me grace despite my distrust. Thank you for bringing me to this place that I never...

Morning Coffee (or Tea) and Our Stance With God. What Temperature Are You?

I believe seeking closeness with God is essential in our relationship with Him, but I do not believe we have to be fiery hot all or even most of the time to please Him. It’s wonderful when we experience that rush of Spirit-filled fire, whether just for a moment or an extended period of time. But...

    Advice for Singles

Most of my twenties was spent feeling very frustrated about waiting for my future spouse. It seemed deeply unfair that I was ready to get married yet God was holding back that blessing. It didn’t make sense. You are not alone in your acute desire for a mate. A lot of us are (or have been)...

    Dear Younger Me

That’s a fair point, @RodB651. I’d probably be pretty annoyed with younger me if she didn’t listen. I mean, who does she think she is anyway!? :p

    Dear Younger Me

If it were possible, I would tell my younger self several things that I think would have made the last ten years a bit smoother sailing. Dear Younger Me, Trust God’s timing and His plan. Have faith but be sensible to where you believe He’s leading. Your emotions and your discernment are two...

    happiness versus Joy

It is not, in my opinion, a “societal pressure” to be happy with your life. I think societal pressure about what should make us happy is where we begin to see the deviation from what’s natural and healthy to what is rooted in sin. The interesting thing I learned about happiness is that the more...

    Despair Over the Future

Hi, HistoryPrincess. I can’t relate to the intense anger you’re feeling, but I wanted to respond because you seem like you’re putting the weight of the world on your shoulders. That’s not healthy or possible for anyone to sustain long-term. I know it sounds difficult, but letting go of your...

Move out or stay at my parents?

It sounds like you’ve pretty much made up your mind about what you want to do, MsMediator. If that’s the case, and you believe God is giving you the green light, then I say go for it. At the very least you will have an answer either way. God does not always make obvious what His plans are for...
