One of my all time fave recordings/bands, pre Buckingham/Nicks.
A random cut, this opened their third LP, Then Play On.

Fleetwood Mac - Coming Your Way

I've got things to do
I move everyday
I hope you don't mind
'Cause I'm goin' your way

You've got things to do
You move everyday
I hope you don't mind
'Cause I'm coming your way

You've got things to do
You move everyday
I hope you don't mind
'Cause I'm coming your way

I've got things to do
I move everyday
I hope you don't mind
'Cause I'm coming your way

Their LPs used to always have an instrumental track on them.
This was my fave of them, from the LP Bare Trees.

MARMALADE - REFLECTIONS OF MY LIFE

The changing of sunlight to moonlight
Reflections of my life, oh how they fill my eyes

The greetings of people in trouble
Reflections of my life, oh how they fill my mind

All my sorrow, sad tomorrow
Take me back to my old home
All my cryin', feel I'm dyin', dyin'
Take me back, to my old home

I'm changin', arrangin', I'm changin'
I'm changin' everything, ah everything around me
The world is a bad place, a bad place
A terrible place to live, oh but I don't wanna die

All my sorrow, sad tomorrow
Take me back to my old home
All my cryin', feel I'm dyin', dyin'
Take me back, to my old home

Yeah, it's probably the only time in history you could hitch a ride with a van full of people you'd never met and go from one coast to the other without being harmed.

2 words for ya... Charles Manson. No one was harmed there?

This is from their 4th LP, Kiln House. Still love it :)

Fleetwood Mac - Station Man

Station man
I've been waiting
Can you tell me
When we're leaving?

Midnight train
Now is leaving
Engine screaming

Where I'm going I don't know
But you tell me I must go
When we're leaving I don't know
But you tell me now

I see it's coming and bringing something
This train of lovin' I see it's comin'
I feel it's runnin' this train of lovin'
From ages past

I used to hitch hike all over the place, and did cross the country that way with two friends in 1977, making it from Toronto to Vancouver in five days (that's how long the train took LOL). But, that was the last time I ever hitched a ride. I was becoming increasingly aware of how dangerous it was :(

Please don't take it that that is what I'm trying to promote on this thread. Just listening to good music that came out of that era.

And you have been doing an excellent job of it.
Thank you lots!

Only thing is it's taking longer and longer for my tablet
to load up when I come back to this thread,
waiting for all the vids to load. :p
Also, I have trouble posting vids from youtube sometimes,
I don't know why.
Sometimes I try to rearrange the url,
but I don't know about computers, so it's just guesswork.

I have alot of things I'd like to contribute,
but I don't want to get in the way, this is your thread,
you may have a certain way you want things posted.

If you have any tips for me, I'm open.
And feel free to pm, too,
if you want to talk music or that era or Jesus
or how God may see all that, now that that era of music
and all that went with it, can be looked at from 2016.
(WHAAAATTT??!! ......
We're in the 21st century?! .....
When did THAT happen?!)

ALSO, Just noticing that you and I and a
(once upon a time) friend magenta (I thought)
all joined this site at the same time,
and we all 3 have very, Very similar tastes in music.
And Saviours, I'm hoping. :) GBU, Is!
(Btw, did you like Jorma?)

Well, thank you and thanks to everyone that has added their favorites. Looks like people are enjoying it from the amount of views.

I tried to load one yesterday and Google sent an error message and said it would be put up shortly. It did show up but it took it a while.

That is very thoughful of you. I know Willy and I in the beginning were talking about the 60's themselves and how it was a rebellious time. I personally believe that satan brought about the counterculture era, it was his playground, but it would be an interesting study on how it all came into being (what were the first signs).

If you have any tips for me, I'm open.

LOL, yeah time marches on. I hope I don't come across as a biosh, just try to stay as close to the 60's as possible. It is interesting that the music didn't stop in the early 70's. It seems like the Woodstock type music sound extended into the early 70's. I have posted some that aren't considered 60's but that's ok if you have a fav that isn't strictly 60's.

I didn't mean to imply there were any others.
I also believe in the Lord Jesus Christ. Of Nazareth.
Bethlehem. Galilee. You name it. He is Lord of All! :)
'Neither is there salvation in any other;
for there is no other name under heaven
given among men,
whereby we must be saved.'

The elders' music and videos indeed are intriguing for study I think. If anything one of the best documentations of history verifiable. Very useful for study of the Elders. Though they hate to hear it though, from my retrospect perspective the generation before is undeniably the most epic I can think of both in the strength of their youth in Depression/WW2 but also in their beloved old age, though many of them have now passed out of the present and gone to sleep as Ancients. Their tales and times boggle the mind. Praise Jesus though for letting me getting to know some the recent Ancients and for keeping them safe through the perilous times before me.

Lol figure since we've strayed forward from the 60s to take a peek backwards. It's no secret where any of this music or the culture of the 1960s-1970s came from; old people when they were young lol. Can kinda see, or maybe hear rather, the influences and changes in the music of one generation or even decade to the next.

I was thinking more about their attitude. The generation before Woodstock weren't as rebellious, and where did the way they dressed come from?

I think Leon pretty much summed it up in Carney with this song (the late 60's early 70's).

I bet it had it's roots in the Beatniks.

Merriam-Webster's dictionary define's a Beatnik as:

"a usually young and artistic person who rejects the mores of conventional society"

"Kerouac introduced the phrase "Beat Generation" in 1948, generalizing from his social circle to characterize the underground, anticonformist youth gathering in New York at that time."

Young men by the thousands were returning from the Korean War to the colleges disillusioned and contemptuous of their elders. They said to each other, “Keep your nose clean and don’t volunteer.” “Don’t believe anybody over thirty.” Communication between groups broke down. Only those of the older generation who had remained defiant were respected, listened to, questioned. Just as the Army took years to discover the almost total breakdown of morale in Korea, so the older intellectuals were unaware that a volcano was building up under them.

Meaning the WW2 generation really, Always kinda forget about the 50s ppl. Lol the way the hippy generation and 70s generation dresses is noted cause its funny. Lol but then I suppose that is why the 50s overlooked. 30s-40s is like epic mind boggling epicness, then there's the lurid and colorful 60s flower children and all the mind-boggling madness of the 60s-70s.

Lol as for asking me why ya'll looked like you did in the 60s and 70s that's one I can't answer, but have wondered myself. I always just kinda figured hippies gonna look like hippies obviously. Lol though never was the clothes I think of first for their style type stuff.

Reminds me lol I can't believe I didn't post this sooner, easily the song and even video that perfectly sums up what I imagine the 1960s was like.

Great Song!! You do realize the hair styles in that vid are a little over exagerated don't you? The only one that's realistic is the one where the person is wearing the yellow head band. I wore my hair long, parted down the middle, I have curly hair so when it grows out it tends to look like a lions mane lol. Contrary to the vid the majority of hippies took good care of their hair and didn't let it get like the vid a greasy rats nest full of fleas!

Anyway, two thumbs up on the song GIS.
