Hi folks,
I have read a lot of posts about people going through difficulty things and my heart goes out to you.
I thought I would share this dream that a believe God gave me a while ago, I know some people are a bit sceptical about dreams and thats fine, but maybe it may just encourage you a bit.
I had a dream that I was standing on a gentle sloping green hill looking down into a field. The field was surrounded on three sides by sloping green hills and in the field were lots of tall grasses all swaying and moving in the breeze. One half of the grasses were a royal blue colour, the other half were a deep pink colour but were intermingled here and there with the blue. This gave the impression that this side of the field was purple.
It was incredible to look at as the grasses gently swayed from side to side. But as the wind moved back and forth and increased, the colours changed and danced around from one shade to another as parts of it looked lighter and parts of it looked darker and the different colours intermingled.
On the forth side of the field opposite from where I stood was a tall grass steep hill at the back of the field. I knew this was preventing any wind from an outside source from blowing on the field of grasses, yet the grasses were moving around as a wind moved over them.
I woke up and immediately thought of Isaiah 40 v 6 - 8 where it says all men are like grass and all their glory is like the flowers of the field. The grass withers and the flowers fail but the word of our God stands for ever.
But I was confused as the grass in my dream was not fading and withering it was alive and vibrant.
For some time I considered this dream and asked God to show me what it meant. Later I
started to do some housework anf put on a tape cassette. It was a mixture of songs and bible verses and it had been a long time since I had listened to it and so I had forgotton what was on it. But in the middle of the tape was 1 Pet v 24 - ch 2 v 10
This has the same verses as Isaiah but then it goes on to say: you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are a people of God, once you had not received mercy but now you have received mercy.
Not long after this one of the church service was about a field of grass in relation to the church and its transforned, radiant crown of beauty - how human personalities and raw material are taken and changed!
I really do feel that God was showing me how he takes frail human beings who are like the grass which is here today and gone tomorrow, and transplants them into his field, his kingdom. Where they are transfomed and are no longer "here today and gone tomorrow".
That when he looks on his people, his children, he sees beauty not uglyness, he says life not death. He sees royalty not beggers. I believe the wind in the field was the wind of the holy spirit blowing on his people.
We truely are new creations when we are born again, oh how we really need to understand this and walk in the newness of life God wants us to have - sorry thats me going on a bit.
I just hope and pray for all of us that we will come to understand just what it means to be children of God and be the people He intends us to be and be able to stand tall knowing who we are in Christ - that if God is for us, who can be against us.
God bless
