Non-believer Being Predictably Critical of Christians:

1.) "a lot of times I am embarrassed to call myself a Christian,"
Apparently you do not call yourself a Christian at all; your profile does not proclaim you're a Christian... it says you are "unsure."

2.) "What is it that unifies the Christian faith?"
Your profile makes it clear you aren't a Christian, and this question reinforces that... if you WERE a Christian you would KNOW what unifies them.

3.) "What is it that Christians are doing to impact the world in a positive way?"
Again, another questions that simply verifies you aren't a Christian - you wonder what Christians should be doing because you are not one, and you have no idea what Christian life is about.

4.) "typically the impression is the Christian churches are full of gossip, that they are mean and bigoted, and they are hypocritical,"
Here we simply have an admitted non-believing, ranting about how bad all the Christians are.
You could hear the same at the local pub.

Conclusion:
1.)
Nufan, you've admitted in your bio you are not a Christian, and every sentence in your OP confirms that.
2.) Hopefully the members here will ignore your rants, and simply share the gospel with you. You need to meet Christ; you need to have a personal conversion. Nothing will resolve your dilemmas except repentance and submission to Christ.
3.) I hope ALL believers who read this will recognize this post as stereotypical complaints from a non-believer.
These are the things non-believers say. These are the common, ordinary, predictable things non-believers say.
We should not get worked up about any of it.
We should not feel defensive about any of it.
We should ignore most of it, and just share the gospel... non-believers will exaggerate all real problems while also creating false problems out of thin air.

God Bless.

.
Well obviously you ignored my rants. Because you're completely off topic and have no idea what you're talking about

It is not an opinion. It's a fact when it comes to doctrine faith and belief there is hate and division amongst Christians and this is because of the institutions, they promote it, they teach it. Why should I not be upset and call out an an institution and affiliation who are working together to shove poison down people's throat and leading people astray.
You offer an opinion of what love is, that which appears to submit one to another. However, it is submitting to your perspective of love that you desire submission to, though there is a perspective that love actually submits to the beloved inherent right to free thinking and this is what I am submitting to when another disagrees with me, all without having to agree to retain any of my own peace with my brother. Nobody is "shoving" anything down anyone's throat nor leading people astray unless one is willing to either swallow or follow it.

Shouldn't we guard ourselves and inform others of danger. I would assume that most of the people on this forum don't even know how A church is ran. Do you realize that when you become a professional at something a lot of times you will become sponsored? There's a lot of people who choose not to be sponsored and are independent but there are very limited amount of Christian churches in the world today that are truly independent. This is not non-denominational, non denominational is essentially a denomination. What I'm talking about is non tithing churches, which do not have a sponsor. Now, if your church is being sponsored. That means your pastor cannot pastor the church how he believes it should be pastured and it has to be more focused on the business end than making disciples. Okay, so it's not Christ minded, it's business-minded. Also, the institutions which teach the pastor are becoming worldly. I'm just throwing a caution out. Be careful.

Just saying, there is good business and bad business. Good business is modeled after good moral choices, although the perspective of good morality might complicate the decisions toward that which constitutes that. That is, a business offers a need that improves the consumers life. The underlying idea of the directive to, "Buy gold without money," is that one should become a consumer of the gold that is offered.

Jesus doesn't support that or teach that. Thats the world not god. Should just say instead choose best of two evils.

Jesus doesn't want to improve your life, he wants to destroy your life so you can live for him.

As @studier said in another thread, something like, "Who doesn't want less evil?" I'm not even going to ask him for permission to adopt this saying.

I'm pretty sure this is the crux of dying daily. Your flesh is dead in Christ so that your spirit is free to operate without its hindrance.

Talking about greek philosophies though... You might be a Diogenian. I think the philosophy of Diogenes would appeal to you strongly. You seem to already believe it, even if you have never heard of him before.
Ah so, this is where Cynicism originated?
My psychology professor noted me as being stoic, but I wasn't sure how to receive that. But she also noted my opinion as 'astute,' so I'm taking it for another compliment.

See that's where Christianity has steered the wrong direction. And that's where the establishment has led people astray, Jesus wants you to offer your life as living sacrifice just as he offered his Life as a living sacrifice , and in that way , you can become One body, one blood, one sacrifice, one offering, and one love. If you're not willing to lay your life down for Jesus then your not worthy of him. Those who lose their life for his sake will find life. We are instructed to deny ourselves. Take up our cross and follow him. What dose it mean to deny ourselves? What does it mean to believe Christ? What does it mean to follow him? What does it mean to take up your cross? These are all commands, and Christianity doesn't teach it, the church doesn't teach it. The reason why is because it's too difficult and too harsh of a message. And it doesn't bring in a lot of people and money. So therefore, you cannot operate as a business that way, you cannot grow as a business that way.
Not only that, but this is a threat to society and the way things operate and ran. If everybody truly starts to following christ, then the entire world would crumble and halt to a stop. I assure you that this is a truth. This is what christ wants from us.

You should pray discern be well informed and think things through before you open your mouth.Yes you should. And i'm not lying because there is nothing lovely and praiseworthy coming from you right now. I know this is not who you truly are and I forgive you.
You are lying to make false statements about me. But you are a liar so of course you won't admit it. You should take your own advice. Or are you one of those who only doles it out because you have no use for it yourself?

It seems you've adopted a self-deprecating approach to love, is it a self-scourging sort of philosophy? One that leaves behind the love of oneself in trade for the love of one's brother, but something that everyone else needs to do.

Right, and that's why I'm not a Christian.I'm a follower of Christ.I've already made that clear, or at least try to be. Christianity doesn't have the same meaning as it did in the first and second century. To be a Christian back then, you were a follower for Christ, to be a Christian now you join a club and your part of a religion. That's why I don't identify as a christian.
