I watched the movie Don't Look Up. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11286314/

This was a good comedy which is an updated version of the movie Idiocracy in my opinion, where a world which considers itself smart and very technologically capable, has simply lost its mind. It has a great cast and many funny jokes throughout the movie.
Well-written and great acting.

I feel the movie 'Signs' was underrated.
For Christians there's no nudity, no sexual situations, minimal language. The violence is pretty minimal too, for the most part.
But still wouldn't call it a kids movie as some heavy topics get presented.
It has Mel Gibson, Joaquin Phoenix and a young Abigail Breslin.
On the surface it's an alien attack movie. But hidden in that is a story about the loss and rediscovering faith.
Slow paced and more minimal in its approach. It is not an action movie.

Die Hard is a Christmas movie.

Is that because it takes place at Christmas time?
But it was released in summer...
so why is it being brought back to theaters for a 30th anniversary just before Christmas if it was a summer release?
Shouldn't the anniversary be around the same time of year it was released?
Or is it really a Christmas movie after all?

Die Hard is a movie where they deck the halls with revenge and blood!

They say revenge is a dish best served cold. It is very cold on December 25th. Bwahahaha!

Jimmy should be enjoyed, not engaged. He provides good bait and some people fall for it and such is the circle of life.

This reminds me of a good spy movie i saw a couple of years ago.

This is a movie about a genius who is recruited to play a chess game in the old soviet bloc territory during the cold war, somewhere in Warsaw.
He battles with alcohol and internal demons but is instrumental in preventing the Cuban missile crisis. There are many movies of this style where these secret heroes who are unknown in the background, prevented disasters in major historical events.
A very well-made movie in terms of suspense and writing.

Oh poop... I just love movies. I could go on with this list. However, there are non-christian movies I regret seeing that I won't even mention here.

The Miracle Club from this year, starring Maggie Smith, Laura Linney, Kathy Bates,
Stephen Rea, and Mark O'Halloran. I am watching it now, and quite enjoying it .

I watched this movie after seeing the series Salvation, so it really looked like a parody of it.

Salvation is still available on Netflix. I thought it was very well done, and quite enjoyed it.

Storyline: An MIT grad student and a tech superstar bring a low-level Pentagon official a
staggering discovery-- that an asteroid is just six months away from colliding with Earth.

This was a good movie and to be honest i was expecting a little better from Bill Burr who's also one of my favorite comedians.
The movie talks about people my age who find themselves in a strange world where as Bill put it "What's my problem? My problem is that a guy who is smoking is telling me not to smoke. That's my problem."
There are good jokes and situations in the movie (which has some profanity) but what i didn't like in the end was that it seems that he didn't stay true to himself as he said throughout the movie. So that was a bit of a strange ending.
Overall a good movie to watch on a weekend.

Currently, I am watching not a movie, but a mini-series called The Golden Hour, which has to do
with terrorist attacks in the Netherlands. Netflix has quite a few foreign offerings available, and
generally speaking, I find I quite like a lot from places like Belgium (Rough Diamonds), Iceland
(Trapped, and Entrapped [English follow-up], plus, The Valhalla Murders) Norway, Sweden (Young Wallender),
Switzerland (Audrey), Netherlands (The Golden Hour), Denmark (Borgen), Germany (Dark), Finland (Deadwind).

Etc. I have seen all those. Many are murder/mystery type cop shows. All bolded titles are links to imdb.

There was also Shetland, from Scotland, an excellent series.

I liked the main actress in Deadwind so much that I used her in one of my panels ,

I will have to check this out .. I really enjoyed him in The Sinner.

I have seen a number of Polish shows also, such as High Water.
And saw some foreign Christmas movies mentioned in another thread.

There are quite a few Australian shows I have seen that were quite good also, such as
Secret City, and The Code. Also, Wentworth. Deep Water. And of course, many British ones.

Deep Water has Noah Taylor in it, of Preacher, Edge of Tomorrow, GoT, The
Borgias, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Lara Croft, Vanilla Sky etc etc etc.

The Golden Hour was quite a suspenseful, well-paced drama.
People are hoping for a second season, and I can understand why!

I have also been watching a Korean series called My Demon, which is quite amusing,
rated @ 8.2 for a TV-14 audience. My Demon is an anime-influenced fantasy/science
fiction streaming television series, praised for its cast and execution of the plot.
The series also ranked second on the Netflix's Global Top 10 TV (Non-English) category.

I saw Thor Love and Thunder a few days ago.

I found it interesting and enjoyable. They had a mix of humor, real life difficulties like cancer and of course the concept of God according to the non-belivers. I think that these so called non-believers fuse a lot of Christianity in their scripts but they give it a different meaning.

The movie begins with the grief of a priest who is worshiping a god. The priest's daughter has just died and he is given access to his god's realm where he sees his god and tells him about his tragedies and that his daughter has died.
The god mocks him and tells him that he is celebrating because he just defeated another god and doesn't care about the pleas of the priest.
The priest then renounces this god in anger. We see a lot of similarities in this action with real-life believers or non-belivers where they reject God because of a tragedy and they are angry at God.
The sword then chooses this priest and with this sword he then kills his god and vows that he will kill all the gods of the universe in revenge.

So, the start of the movie was interesting to me to follow it until the end.
They also make fun of Greek gods which was a hilarious scene.
