I've just joined this site almost as a last resort. I've been feeling so hopeless and stuck in my relationship with Christ lately. I've just begun college so I am aware how important it is to have a strong relationship with Jesus and I want that. Truly. But I can't seem to find encouragement to grow spiritually and feel dead inside and almost feel like I'm lying when I smile and sings hymns in church, any advice or encouragement from my fellow Christ followers? Prayers are accepted!!

I do, I've made so many in the church, but I feel as though I am not supposed to feel this way and am ashamed of talking about it with them! I feel they may judge me or see me as not a true Christian.

I have felt that way before, somewhat recently, actually.

How often are you in His Word? How often do you pray? It's not that there is a checklist of "Do this or do that and you will feel better", but I have found that doing those two things often helps. If you're not sure where to start in the Bible, maybe check out a study (interactive ones with questions help you dive deep and examine yourself at the same time) or go through a book. Be honest with God, and ask Him to give you that passion to want to read and learn more about Him. Perhaps ask Christian friends or family members to pray for you and with you.

Pray. Praying doesn't just have to be that one specific time where you close your eyes and are in a quiet place. Praying, to me, is communication with God, and that can be when I see a pretty sunset, and I think/pray, "Wow, God, you're an awesome Creator!" or it could be when someone is rude to me and I pray, "I am so irritated right now. What's his deal? Lord, help me see things through Your eyes." Etc. :)

There isn't really a formula, but hopefully those things will be a start! :)

You need to fall in love with JEsus
Come back to your first love.
Remember when you first gave your heart ot him?
and you married him?
He is your bridegroom king?
He wants you to keep a stiff upper lip and wait for him he will be back
read song of solomon every day completely through and plead that he give you his smile again.
It will work.

I understand how that feels. I have just recently joined a good church (I'm also in college) and it's difficult to stay encouraged and find time to really spend with God on a daily basis. For me, waking up earlier isn't fun but I have found it to be quite helpful if I read the Bible before my day actually starts. If I'm unsure of what to read, I end up in Psalms or Proverbs. Having a good support of Christian friends is essential but with a busy schedule (work and school and study time) it's even harder to find time for them.. this is the best advice I can give you. Stay in church and try to set a time where you can have personal devotions with Him (I'm speaking to myself here as well) *hugs*

believing the Word over our feelings

you know what the word of God solves all issue. this feeling you have happens to all of us. it is a deception of the devil, the devil is the father of lies. my bible tells me inn john 3vs 16 - for God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believes shall not perish but have everlasting life. and john 1 vs 4 says in Him was life and the Light of men. and another verse says he who has the son, Has the Life. the Life whice in your spirit as a unmerited gift from God through our lord and saviour Jesus Christ is eternal, this life never dies. it is always the deception of the devil to make us feel uneasy and dried out. if we fall for his trick we sink deeply but if we stand up to our faith we come out victorious.
always remember that nothing can seperate you from the love of God, the Holy Spirit lives in you, you are a carrier of his divine presence, He shall never leave you nor forsake you. no matter what you feel in your mind or body always hold on to this faith or believe. 1 corinthians 5 vs 7 says For we walk by faith [we [P]regulate our lives and conduct ourselves by our conviction or belief respecting man’s relationship to God and divine things, with trust and holy fervor; thus we walk] not by sight or appearance. when your eyes of faith are directed to your feelings you begin to sink in despair. get ur off your self and bury your head in the word of God. God's word is true, every other other thing is a lie. God bless.

Often when I am in the place of feeling disconnected from God, I ask why?
If I can't think of anything then I ask God to show me.

If I can think of anything that I have been thinking or doing against the will of God, I tell God about it and then I sincerely tell him I'm sorry. I ask Him to speak to me about each thing and I seek out His truth on it via reading/searching the bible. Then I commit my will to doing things His way.

The stuff I confess may not sound big to someone else, but it matters to God. For instance I may confess:
- my unbelief
- my lack of interest in the bible and I tell Him I want to be interested so please spark my passion for your Word!
- if I've been harboring anger against someone, then I tell him why. Then I forgive them/start the process of forgiving them
- if I've been harboring anger against God, or there is something that has turned me off towards God
...etc.

As I begin pouring out my heart to God I find He reveals things I wasn't even aware of- and gives me a chance to deal with issues, through tears or acknowledgement or forgiveness - sometimes all three.

Honest confession and repentance has led to renewed interest in the bible and God in my life so many times. This may not be the answer for you but I offer it as something to consider since it's helped me so much.

Hello there Giorgi, what you may want to start doing is reading the Bible more. And when I say the Bible, I am referring to the King James Bible. The King James Bible is God's perfect and inerrant word.

Don't get the modern versions, such as the NIV, ESV, NASB, and so forth, as they are very wicked.

You also may want to work on praying more. Also try to find someone in your church who has a burden for lost souls. Find an accountability partner (a true godly lady) that will want to go out tracting and do door to door witnessing. Most people are on the broad road to Destruction and Hell. And we as Christians have been given the ministry and word of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18-19).

So I strongly encourage you sister to get into the King James Bible, read it and study it everyday. Seek to pray more. And find a Christian woman has a burden for lost souls and who wants to reach out. It is a great thing to lead a lost soul to Christ.

You may want to even see if there is a small group of people at your church who do outreach and soulwinning. Seek to spend more time with the Lord in your quiet time. And spend more time getting to know Him by reading His Holy word, the King James Bible. Because that's how you'll get to know Him better. After all, Christianity is a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. This will definitely help in reviving your spiritual walk. Take care Giorgi and God bless you!

It would me nice to seek spiritual counseling from someone in the church you know that truly Love The Lord. second, joining a small bible study group and reading the word of a God will help tremendously. also read many of the post here and you will find good advice that you can apply as we'll. make friends here with people of your age and encourage each other.

regarding your diet check with your doctor to make sure you are not deficient in vitamin D, b12, iron etc. You may need to supplements. I suggest you exercise, get sufficient rest and trust in God. we all feel this way from time to time. this trial will help you draw closer to God. you are not alone tell God all your fears and worries.

hey I just wanted to tell you I have been there before. Somewhat recently actually. I just came back to faith myself. I felt like I was dead inside, like I was just Existing in life, I wasnt experiencing life. I felt horrible all the time because God felt so far away. I just want to tell you that if you have faith, anything is possible with God. God tells us "If you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain move from here to there, and it will move and nothing will be impossible for you." what God tells us is we don't have to be perfect Christians. we just need a tiny little bit of faith in him and he can work wonders in our lives. God calls us all the time to come to him, believe in him, and hear his word. he's right there waiting for you to acknowledge him and if you do your whole life you can change for the better! you'll see things in a whole new light. a different view of people. And a different better understanding of how things work. He will bless you with many things and you won't have to worry anymore. Like I say: No worries. Gods got this. Just have faith

sometimes, when we are closest to God is when satan's doubts in us work strongest...you may be closer to God than most of your friends...for that matter, you may not even realize it yourself...ask the Holy Spirit to reveal it...come on, we have a Living God and a Living Spirit of God indwelling to help overcome all

Ok. Difficult question... it is a bit out there. So shall we narrow it down please. Let's establish a base line of what you know and what you don't know. Then we can see where you are at and the direction you should be going.

First I presume you accepted Jesus Christ as you personal Lord and Savior. You believe that Christ died for your sins on the Cross at Cavalry... and on the third day He rose from the grave. Because we died underneath our "earth father" Adam, we needed to made alive again in order to inherit the Kingdom of God and to join in the salvation that Christ brings. Through Adam the wage of sin was death, and as was promised by God... Adam died. For this reason we needed to be established as alive in the universe again. The only way for us to achieve our rank and be alive again was for Christ to give Himself to us, just like Adam was given for Eve. And therefore the similarities between the two. Now through Christ we see in 1 John 5 that we are now saved through His blood. We see that three witnesses needs to be in our life on earth to witness of this salvation. The blood, the baptism of water and the baptism of the Spirit. In 1 John 5 it is explicitly made clear that these 3 agree as on, while God in heaven ARE one. There these are 3 separate events to transpire in order for us to conform.

After this, you number one goal should be to learn to HEAR the voice of God. For without this there is no learning and anything that doesn't learn or grow will feel as if dead. For Faith cometh by Hearing and Hearing by the Word of God - Which is Jesus Christ.

Are you up to here?
