BUT once again AMP caught my attention and brother, you left out a key part of that verse, the beginning
Above all things have intense and unfailing love for one another, for love covers a multitude of sins [forgives and disregards the offenses of others].

Which it also cross referenced to Proverbs 10:12!

Love is simple and in the same time so complex. Love transforms. God can and shows His love in such a great way, for us, humans, sinners, a love we couldn't imagine to deserve. After you meet Jesus and His love, and His forgiveness, you enjoy it in a not describable way. But then, you see there is no love in your own home, and that's sad. You would like to see everyone loving everyone, specially the people from your own home. And that's not how it works in this world. So you pray.
I like and feel a lot of love through the books of the apostle John specially. He is called 'the apostle of love', by the way.

Yes, if you boil the doctrine of the bible down to one word- it would be love, and all that we do and say should be done and said in love. I guess what I was trying to get across is if we only do the warm and fuzzy love, and avoid the harsh warning love, then we are not really loving. Because what is going to be more important to that person in the next life- that they had a warm and fuzzy feeling in this life, or that they get to go to heaven and escape eternal torture? I believe in every aspect of love. I like to warm people's hearts, and do, but my biggest love is to save their souls. I know some people think they have the truth and try to cram it down people's throats. And I hope and pray that I never come across that way. But I love God, so I am going to try to save more souls for Him because I care about them too, and there will be more people to love in heaven for eternity.
This morning I sat down with 1 Cor 13 again and I felt to start focusing on each characteristic one-by-one rather than trying to read the whole passage in one go, as there is a lot to take in at one time. So I read 'Love is patient', as I reflected on that a thought came to me, 'Love is patient with people'. I was a bit taken back by that, I guess because sub consciously when I think of patience, it's more circumstantial like waiting in a line etc.
I decided to look up Strongs on the word patient for that passage, for those who are interested:
3114 Makrothumeo (makros -long thumos - tempered) and the summary as follows -
1. To be of a long spirit and not lose heart.
2. To persevere patiently and bravely in enduring misfortunes and troubles.
3. To be patient in bearing the offenses and injuries of others and to be mild and slow in avenging.
4. To be longsuffering, slow to anger, slow to punish.
5. Long tempered.
My goodness, i've been dwelling on that all day, as we can see it means to be both patient in circumstance and with people! Patient with people being the greater weakness for me.
And the greatest example of being patient I thought of in all this is here:
Mark 14:53-65
53And they led Jesus to the high priest. And all the chief priests and the elders and the scribes came together. 54And Peter had followed him at a distance, right into the courtyard of the high priest. And he was sitting with the guards and warming himself at the fire. 55Now the chief priests and the whole council[SUP]f[/SUP] were seeking testimony against Jesus to put him to death, but they found none. 56For many bore false witness against him, but their testimony did not agree. 57And some stood up and bore false witness against him, saying, 58“We heard him say, ‘I will destroy this temple that is made with hands, and in three days I will build another, not made with hands.’” 59Yet even about this their testimony did not agree. 60And the high priest stood up in the midst and asked Jesus, “Have you no answer to make? What is it that these men testify against you?”[SUP]g[/SUP] 61But he remained silent and made no answer. Again the high priest asked him, “Are you the Christ, the Son of the Blessed?” 62And Jesus said, “I am, and you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power, and coming with the clouds of heaven.” 63And the high priest tore his garments and said, “What further witnesses do we need? 64You have heard his blasphemy. Some people mistake their idea of love for the same love that God has and is. The truth is that our love often times contains some amount of selfishness in it. A sow and reap kind of idea. We must think we will get something out of it.
God is not like that. He gives His Grace to the ungodly and the sinner. His Grace rains on the just and the un-just alike. Thankfully, otherwise we would all be lost.
God is the Provider, the Giver of all Good Gifts. Without God, we don't know what love is.
Love is Pain. Its easier to not love than feel the pain. But then, you are not alive inside if you don't love. So we try the tightrope act, loving when we think we won't get hurt too much. Its hard to get into the boxing ring of life and try to love instead of protecting yourself at all times. But its what a Christian is called to do.

Love is the greatest thing we can possess,which the Bible says love works no ill towards their neighbor,therefore love is the fulfilling of the law,and the 2 greatest laws are love God,and love people.
Out of faith,hope,and charity,which is love in action,love is the greatest asset,and will be the only thing that will go on forever,for faith,and hope,are only needed on this earth,and will not be needed in heaven.
I was saying the other day to my friend,that some animals that are born,being abandoned,might live,and make it,but a human baby is so vulnerable,and dependent on someone else,that they cannot make it if they are abandoned,for they could not fend for them self.
Is it to teach us to love and care for a human,that cannot take care of itself,for God could of caused the baby to mature enough to be able to walk right off the bat,and to have more intelligence,than what they have when born.
