Countries where people eat tumeric or drink tumeric tea show amazing health benefits in the elderly. It is better than taking an aspirin for anti inflamatory. Pervents alzheimers, cancer and strokes. It is amazing.

Basically it is 1/4 to 1 teas. simmered in a cop of hot water for 10 minues, but you can add many other things for health of taste. A teas. of ginger is good. Use eiher flesh or ground. I like to add a teas. of honey. Some people add lemon.

Notice I am 92.

great info -

don't forget 'fresh ginger' in your drinks! - and we always have to experiment to find what
is right for each of us as individuals - hub and I differ in results with different oils,...
and the 'essential oils' are quite amazing in the ways that they can relieve inflammation
as a 'rub-in' on the painful areas...

we both have experienced such wonderful results and are doing more research on
finding and experimenting with some of the others...
we are now using - 'cedar-peppermint-T-tree oil-clove-eucalyptus...

often at night when my hips and feet, calves, ankles, neck won't let me sleep,
hub rubs me down with the recipes that seem to work for us, sometimes mixed,
or just one at a time for certain things, but we 'always' get good results...:):)

Esential oils are wonderful. I hope others will tell of how they use them.

I was having trouble with diarrhea. I remembered my Mom using boiled orange rind tea for this way back before we had refrigeraion. About 5-10 drops of orange essencial oil stops it by calming the muscles in the colon.

In our very dry climate I used a swamp cooler for air conditioning. Mold in the filters is a problem with them. I learned there are many kinds of molds so one cleaner doesn't kill them all but tea tree oil kills all kinds.

At my age demenia can be a problem. I began to show some signs of it so I went to work at prevention. I exercise each day, even though at 92 my routine is tame. I study herbs to add to my food. I substitute complex carborhydrates for simple ones so brown rice replaces white rice, soba or wheat pasta replacers white, cooked whole grains replaces prepared cerials. I think fruitose and artificial sugars are very damaging. It is added to scores of foods and listed under several names such as natural sweeteners. Almost all juices and canned fruit has it in it so I avoid them. Oils that are refined and not pressed are anoher problem. Make a study of the process used to turn corn into oil if you don't think so. I simply do not eat salad dressings that come in a bottle.

All I have read say Dr Weil's anti-inflamitory diet is the best.

I've only been on this diet about four months but I have lost the feeling of not being alert. The amazing thing is that although I am taking in more calories I am losing weight and inches.

God created our body and our food to go together.

Yes, thanks for the share, blik. There was a webinar I saw on essential oils. Although we haven’t learned to use very much in the past, I am learning what I can, for they are very good at reversing disease as well as boosting our energy. I understand most medicine was taken from essential oils. Aspirin was also originally from the willow tree. It is said there are more than 300 essential oil references in the Bible, where kings and queens were anointed using these, given by the Magi as gifts, and used by Queen Esther. Hippocrates also prescribed them over 2000 yrs ago.

I understand they are 10-70 x the concentration in plants also. High in therapeutic compounds, these are small and can pass into the cell walls. They can destroy viruses and pathogenic bacteria, and gentle on the body too. I have used some before, like lavender and wintergreen, but know i/we’ve been missing a lot on this, not having grown up w/ them. A niece has started to learn and share what she’s discovering about essential oils also.
