our cat Boris died.

there were laws in the house - no instigating fights with Tiger, use the litterbox or go outside, do not eat lilies, don't drop your food in the water dish, no biting, all birds are to be eaten in the yard, never in the house, etc.

none of the laws were abolished, repealed, or made void. no laws passed away. not a single one, not even a part of one.

but Boris is not subject to any of them anymore.
Interesting analogy brother. I once heard someone explain it this way:

"I was born in Illinois and while living there had to follow the state traffic laws of Illinois, I now live in Missouri and no longer follow Illinois traffic laws, but rather Missouri traffic laws. Some of the laws for Illinois may be the same as for Missouri, Illinois may list some that don't apply to Missouri and Missouri may list some that don't apply to Illinois. Now that I live and drive in Missouri, the traffic laws of Illinois are inoperative for me, I now follow Missouri traffic laws."

There are multiple laws from the Old Testament that some would classify as "ceremonial laws, dietary laws" etc.. that no longer apply under the New Covenant and 9 of the 10 commandments under the Old Covenant are reiterated under the New Covenant, yet the command to keep the Sabbath day is not binding on Christians under the New Covenant.

1. You shall have no other gods before Me. - Acts 14:15
2. You shall make no idols. - 1 John 5:21
3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. - James 5:12
4. Keep the Sabbath day holy. - Not binding on the Church - Colossians 2:16-17
5. Honor your father and your mother. - Ephesians 6:1-2
6. You shall not murder. - Romans 13:9-10; 1 John 3:15
7. You shall not commit adultery. - Romans 13:9-10; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
8. You shall not steal. - Romans 13:9-10; Ephesians 4:28
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. - Romans 13:9-10; Colossians 3:9-10
10. You shall not covet. - Romans 13:9-10; Ephesians 5:3

Hi MMD,

You did not want to reply to POST # 4070; Post # 4071; Post # 4072; Post #4073; Post # 4074; Post # 4075? and Post # 4077 and all the scriptures and questions that disagree with your interpretation of the scriptures? There is a LOT of scripture that disagrees with you my friend.

It is ok if you cannot maybe you can pray about it at home. You should you know. Rejecting or ignoring God's Word will not help you come Judgement day. It is the same Word that will bear witness agaisnt you and be your judge (Matthew 15:3-9). We only have today. Tommorrow may be too late.

Here are the scriptures that you were not able to find in your post above.....

God's Law (10 commandments) repeated in the New Testament

1 You shall have no other gods before Me.
It is written: You shall worship the Lord your God and Him only you shall serve. (Luke 4:8; Matthew 4:10; Revelation 14:7)

2 You must not make for yourself a carved image, a likeness of anything in heaven, on earth, or under the sea.
God is Spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. (John 4:24; Acts 15:20; 1 Corinthians 6:9; Ephesians 5:5; 1 Peter 4:3; 1 John 5:21; Revelation 2:14)

3 You shall not take the Name of the Lord your God in vain.(1 Timothy 6:1, James 2:7)

4 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
The Sabbath [seventh day] was made for man, not man for the Sabbath, so the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath. (Mark 2:27-28, Hebrews 4; Matthew 12:8; Matthew 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56(Mark 2:28; Matthew 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56; John 2:6; Matthew 16:24; 1 Acts 13:14; 13:27; 13:44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4; Revelations 1:10 Is binding on all mankind today COL 2:14-17 THE REAL TRUTH THREAD (Linked)

5 Honour your father and mother.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. (Ephesians 6:1; Colossians 3:20; Matthew 15:4; Matthew 19:19)

6 You shall not murder.
I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:44-45; Matt. 5:21-26; Romans 13:9; 1 Timothy 1:9; 1 John 3:15; James 2:11; Matthew 19:18)

7 You shall not commit adultery.
I say to you whoever even looks at another in lust has already committed adultery in their heart. (Matthew 5:28, 1 Cor. 5:11, 1 Cor. 6:18, Galatians 5:19, Hebrews 13:4, James 2:11, Matthew 19:19, Romans 13:9)

8 You shall not steal.
Neither thieves, the greedy, or drunkards and robbers will inherit the Kingdom. (1 Corinthians 6:10, Romans 2:21, Mark 7:21, Ephesians 4:28, Romans 13:9, Matthew 19:18)

9 You shall not bear false witness.
For by your words, you will be justified and by your words you will be condemned. (Matthew 15:19, Ephesians 4:25, Col. 3:9; Matthew 19:18, Romans 13:9)

10 You shall not covet your neighbours possessions.
Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist of the things he possesses. (Luke 12:15, Romans 7:7, Ephesians 5:3, 1 Tim. 6:10, Hebrews 13:5, Romans 13:9)

There is a lot of scriptures here and we have not even looked at all the scriptures in the NT on the 10 commandments on which the 4th commandment is one of the ten. Seems God's Word disagrees with you my friend. Maybe you can go home and pray about it. Tomorrow may be too late.

...................

In times of ignorance God winks at but now ,<when a KNOWLEDGE of the truth has come> calls all men everywhere to REPENT (FOLLOW) (Acts 17:30-31).

There is not one scripture in all of God's Word that says that God's 4th Commandment is now ABOLISHED and we are now commanded to KEEP Sunday as a Holy day.

God's 4th commandment is one of the ten (Exodus 20:8-11) If we knowingly break it when God asks us not to we stand guilty before God of committing sin (James 2:8-12). If we do not seek him in repentance and forgiveness we are in danger of the Judgement (Hebrews 10:26-27)

Sunday worship is a tradition and teaching of man that has lead many to break the commandments of God. Jesus says that if we follow the traditions of man that break the commandments of God we are not following God (Matthew 15:3-9)

Who should we follow the teachings and traditions of men or the Word of God? Who should we believe the Words of men or the Word of God?

May God bless you as you seek him through His Word.

why does this dude keep copy-pasting stuff that's been thoroughly examined, discussed and dismissed?

oh yeah.

the veil.

dunno why i bother, but here goes once again:

it's really simple LGF.

Know ye not, brethren, (for I speak to them that know the law,) how that the law hath dominion over a man as long as he liveth?
(Romans 7:1)

guess what a cross is?

execution device. in Him we have died.

Hiz, that means you repeatedly posting that '
heaven and earth has not passed away yet' is irrelevant to the redeemed too.

this thread was over 200 pages ago. this discussion was over 2,000 years ago. Christ has worked salvation, not only to the Jew, but to the Gentile only - to all who come to Him. believe it, or die in your disbelief.

Now really posthuman? This is only sad for you my friend. Please post what you say has been thoroughly examined, discussed and dismissed. If you cannot then are you bearing false witness to the world?

What posts have you and your friends thoroughly examined, discussed and dismissed? You and your friends do not respond to any of the posts, scriptures and questions provided that disagree with your interpretation of the scriptures.

Closing your eyes to God's Word will not make them go away come Judgement day. Only God's Word is true and we should BELIEVE and Follow it.

Practicing KNOWN SIN will keep all who practice it OUT of GOD'S KINGDOM. Time is running out. Here is my cut and paste again for you below. Do you like it? It is now part of a second signature because you only have today. Tomorrow may be too late if you die in your SINS.

Revelation 1- John said " I was in the Sprit on the Lord's day " he did not say Sabbath. the greek word used for this is the ONLY time it was used in the N.T., showing John , a jewish man, did not say or mean Sabbath and, since there is no N.T. verse that says believers are to keep the Sabbath, we cannot disprove what is not there..
Well let's see if there is any truith in your post here......

There Greek Words used in Revelations 1:10 for "LORD'S DAY" are two GREEK words for both words.

1."LORD'S"

Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries w/TVM, Strong - G2960

"LORD'S" ;κυριακό; kuriakos; koo-ree-ak-os'; From G2962; meaning; belonging to the Lord (Jehovah or Jesus): - Lord's.

2."DAY"

Hebrew and Greek Dictionaries w/TVM, Strong - G2250
"DAY"; ἡμέρα; hēmera; hay-mer'-ah Feminine (with G5610 implied) of a derivative of ἧμαι hēmai (to sit ; akin to the base of G1476) meaning tame, that is, gentle ; day, that is, (literally) the time space between dawn and dark, or the whole 24 hours (but several days were usually reckoned by the Jews as inclusive of the parts of both extremes); figuratively a period (always defined more or less clearly by the context): - age, + alway, (mid-) day (by day, [-ly]), + for ever, judgment, (day) time, while, years.

All the above is saying is that John was in the Spirit on the the Lord's Day....

The same Greek word for DAY IS used in other places nad once again it is referring to God's Sabbath (Luke 4:16; 13:14; 16; 14:15; John 5:9; Acts:13:14)

Now where in the scriptures does it say that the "LORD'S DAY" is referring to Sunday? Woops there is no scripture. But I thought you just said in this post that you cannot prove something that is not there? You are correct you cannot prove that this scripture reference to the "LORD'S DAY" is referring to Sunday.

On the other Hand we read in the scritpures that God's day is the Sabbath day..........

Matthew 12
8, For the Son of man is LORD EVEN OF THE SABBATH DAY.

Amazing we have just found something you have just said was not there? So yep John was in the Spirit on the
"LORD'S DAY" which Jesus himself says is????????? THE SABBATH DAY.

Once again...........

The "LORD'S DAY" = The SABBATH DAY (Matthew 12:8)

Yep it seems God's Word is very clear the Lord's Day is the Sabbath day? There is NO scripture in God's WORD that says the Lord's DAY is Sunday.

Time to leave Sunday School my friend they are not teaching you God's Word but only to follow the teachings and traditions of man and leading you away from God.

there is no N.T. verse that says believers are to keep the Sabbath
So in your view Jesus is lying when he says that it is lawful to do GOOD on the Sabbath?

In your view Jesus is not our example and we should not follow him?

In your view Jesus was lying when he said those that break God's Commandments and teach others to do so will not enter God's Kingdom?

In your view Jesus was lying when he said not a jot or tittle will pass from God's LAW until heaven and earth pass away?

Now we havent even started on the Aposltes then again if you do not BELIEVE Jesus how will you BELIEVE his discples?

It seems you believe Jesus and the Apostles are all lying and the Bible is not true?

You teach others to brake God's Commandments this is something Jesus and the Apostles NEVER did.

Those who do such things do not enter into God's KINGDOM. This is sad for you my friend. Jesus is calling you my friend but you do not hear him.

.................

This is a good example of those that knowingly practice SIN which is the breaking of God's 10 Commandments (Romans 7:7; James 2:11; Romans 3:20; 1 John 3:4).

You have two choices..........

1. DIE TO SIN BY FAITH by BELIEVEING AND FOLLOWING GOD'S WORD through FAITH that has the FRUIT of OBEDIENCE that works by LOVE (James 2:18; 20; 26; Romans 3:31; John 14:15; 15:10; 1 John 3:3-9; Romans 13:8-10; Romans 8:2)

or.......

2. DIE IN YOUR SIN by DISBELIEVEING GOD'S WORD and NOT FOLLOWING HIM and because you have rejected the GIFT of God's dear son (Romans 6:2; 23; 11; 8:2-3; 6; 13, Hebrews 10:26-31; James 2:8-12 etc)

as it is written.......

Romans 2
12,
For AS MANY AS HAVE SINNED WITHOUT THE LAW SHALL PERSIH WITHOUT THE LAW; and as many as have sinned in the law shall be judged by the law;

and again............

Ezekiel 18
20,
THE SOUL THE SINETH IT SHALL DIE. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
21, But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
22, All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live.
23, Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
24, But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, AND IN HIS SIN THAT HE HAS SINNED, IN THEN HE SHALL DIE.

Sin will keep all whp practice it OUT of God's KINGDOM. ONLY God's WORD is true and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW it

..................

you see, the Lord's Day is different from the Sabbath. you assume John meant the Sabbath. the text does not say this. you can't just change the meaning of the text to fit your thinking. you should change your thinking to accept the text.

Where does Gos’s word instruct us, in the New Testament, how to observe the Sabbath under the New Covenant? JPT
Hello JBL

So Jesus in your view did not teach that it is lawful to do GOOD on the Sabbath? (Matt 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56)

Jesus in your view did not teach that God's Sabbath was made for man kind and not man for the Sabbath rebuking the tradtions of the Jew in regards to their interpretation around Sabbath keeping? (Mark 2:27-28; Matthew 12:8)

Jesus in your view, did not teach that he was the maker and creator of the Sabbath and the God of creation? (Hebrews 1:2; John 1:1-3; 14; Ephesians 3:9; Colossians 1:16-17; Mark 2:27)

Jesus in your view is not our example who kept the Sabbath as well as all those who followed him (Matt 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14; Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56; John 2:6; Matt 16:24; Acts 13:14; 13:27; 13:44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4; Rev 1:10)

It is hard to see when your eyes are closed.

Jesus is calling you my friend but you do not hear him

Lets agree to disagree my friend. If you cannot answer the scriptures and the questions in the posts I send you then there is no discussion with you is there? You are free to believe as you wish. You are not accountable to me but to God who's Word you do not BELIEVE.

There is nothing hidden that shall not be revealed come judgment day.

Maybe you can pray about it and we can talk about it further latter
. Thanks for sharing...

..................

May God bless you as you seek him through His Word.

you see, the Lord's Day is different from the Sabbath. you assume John meant the Sabbath. the text does not say this. you can't just change the meaning of the text to fit your thinking. you should change your thinking to accept the text.
Now gb9,

You did not read the post I sent you in POST # 4089 that disagrees with you did you? You argue this is referring to Sunday where there is no scripture. I argue and supply scripture in the above linked post you have not responded to that shows scripture that says the "LORD'S DAY" = the SABBATH DAY. (Matthew 12:8). Disagree? Then make your case and address the post I have sent you in the link above. If you cannot maybe you should pray about it at home.

Only God's Word is true my friend and we should BELIEVE and FOLLOW him who calls us in LOVE to LOVE.

I read your post. your opinion does not change the meaning of the text.

oh, and, Acts 20 v.7, and 1st Corinthians 16 v. 2, the greek word for Sabbath ( sabbaton ) was used FOR THE FIRST DAY OF THE WEEK, as the Gospel accounts clearly say that " early in the morning , on the first day of the week"
so much for your ellen white theology on that.

Well this is between you and God as it was nearly all God's Words and not mine. You can choose to BELIEVE God's Word or not it is between you and God not me and you. If you disagree you disagree with God not me my friend as it is His Word and not mine.

Please if you believe what has been shared with you in post # 4089 (linked) is not true state your case and show your scriptures. If you cannot you should BELIEVE and FOLLOW the Word of God. As only God's Word is true.

Now gb9, if you read the OP here you would know why the word Sabbaton was used on the 1st day of the week. Its reference was the same as Col 2 and is in reference to the annual Jewish festivals. Now you did not even read the OP have you? What then are you even commenting on something that you have not ever read or considered?

Hello gb9,

Posthuman already tried to help you. Here let's have a look at the GREEK...

STRONG'S
G4521 σάββατον sabbaton (saɓ'-ɓa-ton) n.
1. the Sabbath (i.e. Shabbath).
2. a day of weekly repose from secular avocations.
3. the observance or institution itself.
4. by extension a week, the interval between two Sabbaths.
5. likewise the plural in all the above applications.
[of Hebrew origin (H7676)]
KJV: sabbath (day), week
Root(s): H7676

Now let's look at your scripture CONTEXT in how the word Sabbaton was used.......

1 Cor 16
2,
Upon the first day [MIA] of the week [Sabbaton] let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

So the use of the GREEK Word SABBATON used in the scripture CONTEXT of 1 Cor 16:2 is saying on the FIRST DAY of the WEEK [Sabbaton; 4. by extension a week, the interval between two Sabbaths.] is in refernce to the interval between the Sabbaths. That is why it has been translated in the engish as week and not Sabbath day.

You need to consider the CONTEXT of the scripture used with the HEBEREW and GREEK Words used.

Hope this helps.
