THEN YOU Had better look at what you wrote, because, you did not cover that at all in your option 1, which you stated he lost his salvation, which is IMPOSSIBLE. I STAND ON OPTION THREE.

Option 1 = Believe and be saved

Option 2 = Believe for a while, and be saved for a while.

Option meaning you choose to opt to do.

Those who do nothing, have the seed stolen and there is no change in their condition, because they opted to do nothing.

You have posted no truth, only accusations and the denial of the scriptures that I present.

Please just stick to discussing and posting the scriptures, and let's have a civil, fruitful conversation.
The Perseverance of the saints

You are presenting to everyone here a, "Half of a Gospel" for it is God who will present, "the true Christians blamless", Those who fell away did not "contend for the faith." If you diminish the "Perseverance of the Faith", you are presenting only a part of the "Whole Counsel of God." "Abide in Him" 1John2:27

A "True Christian will Persevere" and we were "Sealed" for the day of redemption, true gospel.

Philippians1:6
"And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ."

Jude1:24
Now to him who is able to keep you from stumbling and to present you blameless before the presence of his glory with great joy,

Jude1:3
"Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints."

1John2:27
But the anointing that you received from him abides in you, and you have no need that anyone should teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about everything, and is true, and is no lie—just as it has taught you, abide in Him.

Ephesians4:30
"And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption"

Nice try and I do not recall us being friends.....and salvation is not loseable....get that through your head
I would like you to analyze a scripture with me:
2 Peter 1:5-12 King James Version (KJV)
5 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity;
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembrance of these things, though ye know them, and be established in the present truth.

vs 5 uses the words "add to your faith". Peter says that you should use all diligence to add these traits to your faith. You say that you need to 'add nothing' to your faith. In fact if you do add anything to your faith, you are creating a false doctrine. Does not look like Peter agrees with you.

vs 8 Peter says, if you add these traits you will not be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. You again say, you need not 'add' anything to your salvation, 'faith alone' will save you.

vs 9 Peter says that a person that lacks these traits is blind... And has forgotten that he was purged from his old sins. You say that you need to 'add nothing', that 'faith alone' is enough.

vs 10 Peter says to make your 'calling and election sure', and if you do that, you shall never fall.
You say there is nothing you can do that will make you fall. What is ones 'calling and election made sure'?

vs 12 Peter says that he will not be negligent to always put you in remembrance of these things.
You say once you are saved, you are always saved, no matter what. So why must Peter always be helping the bretheren (saved) to remember these things, if they need nothing more to be saved for ever?

9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24:9-13

  • But he who endures to the end shall be saved.

Jesus used these same word for salvation, in the same context, as He taught about the Gospel being preached and those who would be saved.

12 Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved.13 But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. Luke 8:12-13

It's very simple, the condition Jesus requires for salvation, is to believe.

  • lest they should believe and be saved.

Those who believe for a while, then no longer believe, no longer meet the required condition for salvation.

  • who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away.

You guys claim that a person is saved the moment they believe.

So these who believe [and according to you are saved at that moment] for a while, are saved at the moment they believe.

What is their condition after they no longer believe?

You say they are still saved, because the doctrine you teach says once saved always saved.

I disagree.

These who believe for a while, then no longer believe, are no longer believers.

The bible teaches the promises of salvation and blessing are for believers.

How can someone, still be saved, if they are not believers any longer?

If you have a scripture that people who have believed, then return to unbelieving, are still saved, then please post it for all of us to examine.

All you have posted is your skewed false view of scriptures....read again and do not address me if you cannot be honest with the word and or what I have said.....
You can post what you believe until the cows come home and chickens roost....you can make moot statements like the last thing you stated above and let me tell you something...YOU will NEVER convince me that salvation can be lost....EVER....WHY? Because the bible does not teach a salvation that can be lost or forfeit in context. You prove every time you speak man that you do not understand the simple truth that the word SAVED does not ALWAYS apply unto the salvation of the Spirit/Soul.....so.....you are wasting you time engaging me on this subject...I am fully honest with the word and let it take me where it takes me...I have always been willing to admit error and or change my mind on any subject in the bible....I have studied this every which way to Sunday because I want to know the truth and DO not believe it will jive to stand before the Lord and say...well so and so believed this or this is what the commentary said etc....the bible overwhelmingly teaches the security of the believer based upon the power, promises and words of Christ in Context.....NOT YOU nor anyone else that believes salvation can be lost like a dime on the street and or forfeited like freedom when one goes to jail WILL NEVER CHANGE MY MIND....the amount of truth that must be rejected, denied, explained away, twisted, embellished, falsified etc. to believe and push that goes beyond ridiculous into a category that I will not name to keep from being censured or banned.

I am presenting the plain and clear words of Jesus Christ.

I'm asking for discussion from those who desire the truth, not desire to cover their "doctrine".

12 Those by the wayside are the ones who hear; then the devil comes and takes away the word out of their hearts, lest they should believe and be saved. 13 But the ones on the rock are those who, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, who believe for a while and in time of temptation fall away. Those who believe for a while are saved for a while.

It's that simple.

There is more to the Gospel than that. Even though we are sealed with the Holy Spirit we can still lose our eternal salvation like the five virgins did. We need to be ready, waiting and watching, otherwise we will hear the words, "I know you not."

And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not. Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh. (Mat 25:6-13 KJV)

That's like saying a woman is pregnant, "a little bit" she either is or she is not pregnant.

You are either "born again" or your not born again, and eternal salvation is eternal, not maybe its eternal.

Amen.

Jesus explains.

45 “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. 47 Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. 48 But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ 49 and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, 50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, 51 and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Matthew 25:45-51

Jesus gave us an example of one of His servants, who was promoted to be a ruler over His household, to distribute provision as needed.

If that servant obeyed and did what he was supposed to, then when the Lord returned He would bless that faithful servant.

Likewise if that servant hung around the unrighteous, and began to take up their habits, and neglect his responsibilities and even mistreat those he was supposed to care for, then the Lord would return and cast His once faithful servant, who became unfaithful, into hell along with the hypocrites.

This is the context of Matthew 25:31-46

The Bible supports eternal salvation for the faithful.
4103. pistos ►
Strong's Concordance
pistos: faithful, reliable
Original Word: πιστός, ή, όν
Part of Speech: Adjective
Transliteration: pistos
Phonetic Spelling: (pis-tos')
Short Definition: trustworthy, faithful, believing
Definition: trustworthy, faithful, believing.
HELPS Word-studies
Cognate: 4103 pistós (an adjective, derived from 3982 /peíthō, "persuaded") – properly, faithful (loyalty to faith; literally, fullness of faith); typically, of believing the faith God imparts.

[The root of 4103 /pistós, "faithful" and 4100 /pisteúō, "faith," are the same (pist-), referring to persuasion.]

(pretenders? no.... those who claim to believe but are not loyal to their faith and it is made manifest they never were of us? no....)

That's like saying a woman is pregnant, "a little bit" she either is or she is not pregnant.

You are either "born again" or your not born again, and eternal salvation is eternal, not maybe its eternal.
Being born again is just the beginning of your relationship of the Holy Spirit, not the end.

The scriptures are full of examples of people who have lost their grace, and of admonitions to stay in the faith, lest Jesus come and remove you, also people who deny Jesus and will be denied by Jesus to God. There are all kind of reasons that Paul and the apostles preached to the people to remain faithful.

That is all I am doing is telling us to remain faithful to the end, to help each other to endure this life and its challenges and its burdens. To not be weary of doing good. To not do things that will lead to a loss of grace or justification or sanctification.

To just love the Lord and do good to your fellow men. Lots of scriptures that pertain to these kinds of activities.

So let us be faithful to the Lord Jesus Christ that grace shall abound.
