Welcome to my curiosity.

I searched and found this site https://www.techsupportall.com/best-anti-ransomware-software/

I've used Malwarebytes. I have Iobit Malware Fighter , Microsoft Security Essentials Prerelease and CC Cleaner installed now. As well as Comodo Dragon antivirus. Yes, I like to be secure as if that wasn't as obvious as I have no clue about computers.

What would the not-like-me, as in computer savvy, suggest? Besides that I take an computer course ASAP.

Thank you for stopping in. And for any help you can provide.

When I want a program for (some job, CD burning for example, or IRC client) my first stop is portableapps.com and see what they use. They take good, free programs and make portable versions of them. I don't have to get a portable version, I can look up the separate programs on their home sites and get the installed version, but portableapps.com is a good place to start looking for a program that will do something.

Here's the long list of the programs they use:
https://portableapps.com/apps

As i said, you don't have to use their apps... although you certainly can if you want. They are portable versions of good programs so you can stick the programs on a flash drive and use them on whatever windows computer you happen to be using. But if you just want the regular installer you can find the program portableapps is using and google that program up.

Holy monkey poop on a stick! I just checked the list myself and saw they made a portable version of LMMS music workstation! I'm not even going to ask how they did that.

And a portable version of VLC? Maybe I should update my own information. I didn't even know you could make all those decoder libraries portable...

With Malwarebytes free, you have to re-download it every two weeks to get continuous protection.. I use CCleaner and Super Antispyware.. and ZoneAlarm anti virus.

Thank you. :) I noticed that about Malwarebytes. They also have other options but for the $ version.
