Only the elect of God love the truth, remember the truth is not a thing. It's a person and His Name is Jesus the Christ, He is the only One who said "I am the truth". So we know that truth is Jesus, if we love the truth we are actually saying we love Christ. Non believers hate Him, just as we all did before God converted us.
