Convert means to turn around (part of repentance) and regenerated means receiving a new nature, i.e., the new birth.

The indwelling Holy Spirit.

A conversion is a physical man (only) made change/decision.

Regeneration is spiritual change, Christ places His Holy Spirit inside us.

The Holy Spirit is an everlasting SEAL (Eph 4:30

The Holy Spirit guards us (2 Tim 1:14

The Holy Spirit helps & intercedes for us (Rom 8:26-27

The Holy Spirit teaches in (John 14:26

The Holy Spirit Comforts & Counsels us (Jn 14:16, 26, 15:26

The Holy Spirit SEALS & "gives us the earnest"
("Earnest" means down payment. (2 Cor 5:5 & 2 Cor 1:22)

regeneration is a term given to give life to something that is dead.

we who are dead to God have been made alive in Christ, that is regeneration (our dead bodies have been made alive)

conversion means that we have been converted from one belief to another belief.

You must be born again (regenerated) before you are converted (turning away from your old life of serving yourself to serving God.) A lot of times a person has been born again many years before they are converted. I would welcome your comments on what you think about the difference in these two accounts.

I fully agree with you. Some people have a hard time understanding the difference in the two.

this is impossible. One can not be born again until their sin is forgiven, this happens after conversion, when a person places their faith in Christ.

Regenerated and converted are simultaneous actions of God by the Holy Spirit. New life and forgiveness of sins along with the creation of a new creature in Christ.

Adoption into the heritage of Christ which is eternal life.

I agree, regeneration is an action which happens in a moment,

Conversion however may take months, even years to be accomplished as God works on a persons heart. and even then, Conversion may not happen, as they reject the gospel. and of course then regeneration would never take place.

I would like to call your attention to 1 Cor 2:16, But the natural man receiveth, not the things of the Spirit of God; for they are foolishness unto him; neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. according to this scripture, it does not seem reasonable that the natural man can become converted ( turn away from worldly things to spiritual things) without first being born of the Spirit. Can you explain this to me by using other scriptures?

Are you attempting to promote Calvinism?

God lights every man that comes into the world. John 1. When Adam sinned in the garden he received the knowledge of good and evil. So now Adam and all of mankind knows good from evil and is able even must choose which he will love and which he will hate.

we are all born into this world by natural birth and are all destined for hell because of the sin of Adam. If God had not chosen some to give eternal life to by the sacrifice of Christ, all mankind would burn in hell. In our natural state of being, we would never have the ability to understand spiritual things, according to 1 Cor 2;16 , so then, we could never be converted without understanding spiritual things, unless God first gave us new life by putting his Spirit within us ( regeneration ).

correct me if I misunderstand, but it seems you are saying God gives people His Spirit before they receive Christ

is that what you are saying or actually it seems you are teaching

this is a discussion forum so people are going to discuss

That does not mean anything, the natural man is in his natural state, however, when God works on a person to draw them to himself, he (God) can overcome hat natural stateof p the natural man, otherwise, no person could ever have faith in christ, we would either deny him, and no one would be saved, or be robots,

Niether of those options fit Gods character

I have heard of John Calvin, but have never read anything that he has written. I do not depend on the writings of any man, only the inspired word as translated from the 1611 King James version of the bible. Christ taught a doctrine when he, as a man, walked this earth for 33 years, and I am trying to learn the doctrine he taught where the scriptures never contradict each other. 1 Cor 2:16 says that the natural man, as we all are when we are born into this world, can never understand anything of a spiritual nature until we are born of the Spirit and can discern spiritual things.

God chose based on his character, bas d on his foreknowledge, not n some fatalistic way as many want him to have done,

God is soverign, he also is love, as a soverign all powerful God, he is capable of givng man free will, to reject or receve him, and this does not one iota go against his character, in fact, in glorifies his character, because no one, not even the angels in heaven would xpect him to do his. Which is why it was so easy to fool satan into doing what he did and making a liar out of satan, satan walked r Ght into his trap, and fell hook line and sinker, because god chose love over all else (which is why he created man to begin with, to LOVe them
